IRL_Joanie Posted January 4, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2010 I need the help of HAL cruisers please????? While updating the Staterooms site this morning I ran into a problem. I cannot identify the correct HAL ships that the following 2 questions should be on.... Can someone tell me which ships these belong with? 1. Which HAL ship has the Rembrandt Show Lounge 2. Which HAL ship has Polar Bears on the Lido Midship Pool Joanie
SandyMc Posted January 4, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2010 I don't have answers to both questions, Joanie, but I do think the ship with the Polar Bears at the pool is the Zuiderdam. Haven't seen them in person yet - we FINALLY sail next week (YAY!!!) - but I have seen pictures. Thanks for doing the thread for the various ships and their staterooms........it was a great idea!! I love doing it!! But that is where my problems came in to play this morning. While doing new photos for Zuiderdam, I ran into a couple of inconsistant photo and descriptions on HAL's site about her. One place, HAL states, and shows photos/video of the Rembrandt Show Room, in another they show the Vista Show Room.... Which is which...On which ship.... Another place they show the Lido Midship Pool with Polar Bears, another no decoration at all, to include the flooring around the pool being totally different... I am so confused....:eek: Joanie
kakalina Posted January 4, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 4, 2010 JOanie, the Amseterdam also has bears in the Lido pool area. The Rembrandt is on an S or R class ship. That's the best I can do right now.
cec5248 Posted January 4, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 4, 2010 I believe the Maasdam has the Rembrandt Show Lounge...

Gosh Joanie, aren't you the one who was SO sure HAL "knows what they are selling"??? I know I for one tried to tell you that isn't always the case. There are inconsistencies - even with HAL. IRL_Joanie Posted January 4, 2010 Author #8 Share Posted January 4, 2010 Thanks to all positive answers on the Rembrandt Show Lounge, and to Kakalina for at least narrowing down the Class of ship for the Polar Bears.. I will be working on the Maasdam photos in a couple days, so will add the Rembrandt then. Joanie

CroneWynd Posted January 5, 2010 #12 Share Posted January 5, 2010 We were on the Statendam last may, and enjoyed the Rembrandt show lounge... Starry Night is featured. :)
G&G Posted January 5, 2010 #13 Share Posted January 5, 2010 I found it very unusual that the polar bears were on the Zuiderdam. We attended the christening of the Zuiderdam several years ago in Ft. Lauderdale and were told that the ship was scheduled to be sailing year round in the Caribbean. I guess the polar bears would help make the passengers feel cooler while in the Caribbean:D
cec5248 Posted January 5, 2010 #14 Share Posted January 5, 2010 The Statendam show lounge is the Van Gogh as per Holland's website.
RetiredMustang Posted January 5, 2010 #15 Share Posted January 5, 2010 Joanie, I spent a few minutes on the HAL website and looked at the photos and deck plans. Here is what I found out: Amsterdam -- Queen's Lounge; grizzly bears sculpture by the Lido pool. Eurodam -- The Mainstage; a "wall" of water Maasdam -- Rembrandt Lounge; dolphins. Nieuw Amsterdam -- The Mainstage; unable to find a photo. Noordam -- Vista Lounge; no photo, but I seem to remember dolphins. Oosterdam -- Vista Lounge; penguins. Prinsendam -- Queen's Lounge; no sculpture by the Lido pool. Rotterdam -- Showroom at Sea; sea lions. Ryndam -- Vermeer Lounge; dolphins. Statendam -- Van Gogh Lounge; dolphins. Veendam -- Showroom at Sea; dolphins. Volendam -- Frans Hals Lounge; dolphins. Westerdam -- Vista Lounge; dolphins. Zaandam -- Mondriaan Lounge; dolphins. Zuiderdam -- Vista Lounge; polar bears. The deck plans for Statedam and Ryndam show the main lounge being called Showroom at Sea after their upcoming refits. Dave

MBM54 Posted January 5, 2010 #18 Share Posted January 5, 2010 Looks like you already have this figured out. But, just in case, I can verify Polar Bears are indeed on the Zuiderdam , as is the Vista Lounge.

IRL_Joanie Posted January 6, 2010 Author #22 Share Posted January 6, 2010 I want you all to know just how much I really appreciate your help!!!! It nakes things a lot easier see what is available on what ship, and gives a better idea of what is available. As was pointed out in a very early post, HAL's site can be a bit confusing... I'm just trying to make it easier for everyone, myself included, to get the questions answered in one spot.. You all are the best!! Joanie
