Pre/Post Cruise Accommodations

We are looking to find a decent place to stay before our Feb.8/15 cruise out of Fort Lauderdale as well as after. For our pre-cruise, we would prefer a hotel with free airport shuttle as well as a shuttle to the port, without spending alot of $$. Something near some stores would be great for bevies and food. Our post cruise hotel can be something near the beach as we want to spend some time there after the cruise. Your suggestions would be greatly welcome! :)

We stayed at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ft. Lauderdale Airport/Cruise. We were happy with the service. It's across the street from a shopping center with a big Publix Grocery store.

They have a park & cruise package with room +free parking +breakfast +free shuttle to the cruise port (can book with them shuttle back for $8 person)

We love the location of the Hyatt Place! Go thru valuetrips.com for a great price! Free shuttle from the airport and in the am. Also, free breakfast. Next to a grocery store for last minute items, other stores, and a great mexican food restaurant. (hope they're still there) Best fish tacos : )

Embassy Suites is reasonable with airport pickup and port drop off. Free Happy Hour every night and they are across the street from Total Wine & More for your cruise wine buying!:D

At Embassy Suites airport pickup and port drop off is not free.

Thanks for the suggestions. We are going on Allure of the Seas in Feb and taking our 6yr old. Does the Solarium Bistro and Vitality Cafe allow children to eat at breakfast and lunch time? Do you need reservations for the MDR for breakfast and lunch? Also, can anyone go to the MDR or is it only allowed for guests booked in suites?

Can I carry on a carry-on when I board? Can the wine go in there or does it need to be separate?

Thanks!

Kids can go to the Solarium Cafe/Bistro and Vitality Cafe.

No reservations for MDR breakfast and lunch.

The MDR is for everyone on the ship.

You can carry-on any bag you want, as long as it will fit through an airport type scanner. Wine can go in the carry-on.

Check out Hyatt Place on Value Trips. They have great rates and it's a very convenient hotel with free airport shuttle.

I will second this recommendation. We stayed there this past Feb. and it was great. $179(on valutrips) included a large clean, comfortable room, airport shuttle and a pretty extensive complimentary breakfast. We are planning to stay there again this coming feb. even though our cruise leaves from Miami. We found a reasonable shuttle service to port of Miami. :) There is also a large shopping center within walking distance with two or three restaurants including a Five Guys which we love! Have a great cruise!

My husband is a diabetic, just wondering if there is desserts for diabetics on Allure?

Also is there Fresca or Diet Sprite/7-Up with the drink machines?

Thanks!

There are sugar free desserts offered.

The Freestyle machines have both Diet Sprite and Sprite Zero.
