Just off the Oasis morning of 9/11

Recommended Posts

We had a late flight so we were not in a hurry to exit this beautiful ship. When we made our way to the gangway there were plenty of folks still on the ship. We had a wonderful time but did not have enough time to see and do everything. Really only two negatives. 1. My time dining moved slower than on other ships. 2. The Seafood Shack food was not good, very greasy.

Richard Spacey did an awesome job as usual. Did I mention the ship is beautiful?? Wow!!! Shows were great. We felt less crowded than on the Freedom and Voyager class. Staff was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed breakfast in Johnny Rockets and the main dining. Was able to get eggs benedict in the MDR. Getting on and off the ship was quick and organized.

Lastly, the shower heads are removable even though I had read different.

Did you experience any movement at all on the ship, did the aquatheatre for the water show have any technical difficulties?

TIA!

Not really, could barely notice any movement. The Captian said they rarely use the stabilizers as well.

I am pretty sure all the aqua shows went as planned, I know the first night did.

Sounds like you had a great time

Question: Did you go into the Casino and if so, were there roulette tables that were manned or just electronic roulette tables?

They have manned roulette tables, electronic roulette terminals, and an unmanned roulette table where you place bets via a touch screen and after 30 secs the ball goes around a wheel. That one is more of a rapid roulette game you see in ac/ lv casinos. The ball is pretty big and doesnt really have a bounce like a regular manned table wheel does.

Thank you for your response. I'm happy now that I know there is a manned roulette table. Call me old fashion:D:p

I've been told folks are forced to disembark early in the morning. Any truth or just a rumor?

What do you mean "forced"? Pax must be off by 9:30 - their goal is to have all passengers disembarked by that time. I don't think that's forced at all. They need to ready this beast for the next group. :)

I really don't want to sound so negative. But for all those people who want stay aboard once the trip is over, your vacation is over and as the other people has said, the crew has to get the ship ready for the next set of cruisers. The people from the previous cruise could get in the way. I realize you may have later flights, but there is plenty to do in the Ft. Lauderdale area until it is time to go to the airport.

Well, we had one of the last numbered luggage tags and we went to the gangway after the number was called, we just didn't stand in the long line to get off until the line got a lot shorter. Like I said, we were off by 9:30 and there were still many many more folks on. I am sure everyone was off by 10.

I told you that they are removable. What they DON'T do is have the ability to move up and down a fixed pole to vary the height.

We sit in the pormeade till the lines where gone we used Vaet Luggage service didn't see our luggage till the baggage claim in Houston:) it was about 10:15 Saturday morning, and by far we were not the last to get off a couple hundred left on. Plus the B2B folks waiting for the lines to disappear.

I thought Royal Caribbean started the program where you pay money to stay extra time onboard ship. Which would mean you don't have to leave until around noon. Or is this just certain ships?

You are correct, this is only on certain ships. It was not offered on the Oasis yesterday. I think I heard it was only ships that sail in Europe.
