cruise to greece

Probably makes no difference, depending on what ports you're going to and in which order. Whilst docked in the ports themselves, sometimes the ship will be on the left side of the dock, sometimes the right, sometimes bow in, sometimes stern in. And that area of the world is so beautiful, either side will provide great views.

Welcome to Cruise Critic!

There are few places in the world where it is critical to be on one side or the other, and many of those, you see sailing out, what you didn't see sailing in. Plus, you aren't locked in your cabin, you will be out and about, seeing things from all angles.

Venice, for example (don't know if it is on your route or not), a fascinating sail in/out, you usually want to be starboard side sailing in, and port side sailing out.

So, I would focus on getting the level and type of cabin you wish, and not on the side of the ship.

Most of the time you will only see land for a very limited amount of time when entering/exiting a port. There is no way of knowing which "side" (if either) of the ship will have better views once docked.

Regarding Venice, I'd never want to be on a balcony with a view to only one side while going into or out of Venice. There is much to see on both sides. Better to be on an open deck, preferably at the bow.

You did not mention it, but Venice is one of the few places where it matters. For a day time sail in, you want the right side. For sailaway the left. You will still want to go outside to see the other side.

Why would anyone stay in their cabin when sailing in or out of Venice. You want to be outside enjoying the expansive views and being able to change sides when necessary. Sometimes I just do not understand people.
