csgseattle Posted September 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2014 We will be 3 people and 6 bags arriving FLL early AM on a Red-eye from Seattle. What would you recommend as the most hassle free way to get to Embassy Suites on 17th - I'm kinda wanting to stay away from taxi's. Any input is appreciated! CruiserBruce Posted September 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2014 Well, as frequently discussed here, taxis are the most hassle free way to do it. Costs all of $13 before tip, and goes as easy as can be.
csgseattle Posted September 26, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted September 26, 2014 I'm thinking we have too many people/bags for a taxi. Are there shuttle services I can pre-book?
nat9511 Posted September 26, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 26, 2014 They have van taxi's at FLL.
CruiserBruce Posted September 26, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 26, 2014 No, you don't have too many people- taxis can easily take 3 people in most cases. Plus, there are van and SUV taxis that will handle you and your luggage, and the charge is still about $13. You can contact Embassy Suites and see if they are still offering their shuttle to airport package. They will charge you something like $8 or 10per person, and you will have to contact them upon arrival to pick you up, and wait for their arrival. There are many recommendations for shuttles here. SAS, QLS and a number of others. But they too will charge you more than the cab.
csgseattle Posted September 26, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted September 26, 2014 OK - thank you!
Marie51 Posted September 26, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 26, 2014 OK - thank you! Really the fastest and easiest way is a taxi. Van taxis cost the same as a regular taxi and they are right there outside of baggage claim. If you really want a shuttle look into Jiffy Jeff or Johns car service. csgseattle Posted September 26, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted September 26, 2014 You all have convinced me - we'll bumble over to the taxis (I don't expect to be very awake - ha). Thanks for the info!
nhraformula00 Posted September 27, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 27, 2014 It is under 3 miles, and takes about 10 min.
Putterdude Posted September 27, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 27, 2014 All cab in FLL are Crown Victoria in size augmented with SUVs and vans. You should have no trouble with either. I usually figure on a cab costing about $18 including tip but with a very early arrival traffic should be light and the fare a bit lower. What skews the fare from FLL is that there is an airport fee of about $2.
Ashland Posted September 27, 2014 #11 Share Posted September 27, 2014 You all have convinced me - we'll bumble over to the taxis (I don't expect to be very awake - ha). Thanks for the info! You don't need to "bumble" just walk out the door from the luggage carrousel turn left and you're at the taxi line. Enjoy your stay at the ES we were just there last week...renovations are moving quickly all upper floors are done...the hotel looks great...however don't expect to be able to access your room until early afternoon...ours wasn't ready until 4:30pm but then we did request a king bed room and view of the port..where in the past we had been able to have immediate checkin from our redeye flight. Rare Keith1010 Posted September 27, 2014 #12 Share Posted September 27, 2014 CruiserBruce has it right. A taxi van will be fine. Keith
