Probably not on our cruise, but that looks like a possibility on some cruises in later December.

We don't sail on her until Feb- I guess the new terminal should be open by then? Have fun!!!
Barbiegator Posted November 29, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 29, 2014 Just off Explorer. I used 1 hour free internet. Very, very, slow and could not connect on Friday. Like the ship and crew.Different choices in Windjammer compared to Freedom. Especially missed egg salad and sliced bread for deli sandwiches. They have selection of thick rolls.Did have tuna 1 day and ham salad.Ate at Portafino and MD twice using My Time. We had reservations but saw long lines around 7:30.They offered Turkey or Ham Dinner for Thanksgiving. Ice show was the best we have seen on any ship. Great production, costumes and music. Dance shows not as good. Didn't care for music, lots of slow ,solo songs. Captain is the best. Even sang at our Upper Tier party. Lots of families that seemed to be enjoying their holiday time together. Many matching shirt groups. I like the Mon-Sat cruise. Long car lines for Departure(never experience this before) but fast embarkation for Diamond Plus. Aft balcony in middle is huge but get deck 10 as we could look down on the other balconies on aft. Casino slots were fun and many new machines. Saw many win on bonus games. Used vouchers for drinks. You need to become friendly with waiter as this helps on timing and type of drinks you get free.Found this true on Freedom also. Explorer on in Port Canaveral for 5 months so hurry and book. You will not be sorry. They also do 9 day. Don't know cost of internet as used a free voucher. Any questions?
bob brown Posted November 29, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 29, 2014 I am curious as to what (if anything), occupies the space's used by the former oceanic, and atmospheric labs that the U of Miami used to operate in the Explorer's early years? ERIE 13 Posted November 29, 2014 #11 Share Posted November 29, 2014 We were on her for the last cruise from N.J. to N.J. that ended Nov. 1st and they stored a piano in the oceanic lab area.

And is there a formal night? Thanks!!! The ship will be decorated for Christmas by your sailing. We've sailed in mid December for many years and the decorations are up then, and they are beautiful. Our last cruise in Liberty we loved the piano guy in the schooner bar. Is the current piano player fun? Hope you had a nice trip! Thanks!
FlamingJune1967 Posted December 5, 2014 #18 Share Posted December 5, 2014 I don't have any specific questions, but am anxious to hear of your onboard experience! We are on the Dec. 18th sailing, and I have made the mistake of reading a few recent reviews... none positive. I do have a general question. Our cruise is now being called a "Holiday Cruise" - and I wondered what that meant. Lots of children? Extra special meals? Just wondering since we get back on the 23rd and the next cruise is an actual Christmas cruise.
cruising grandma Posted December 8, 2014 #19 Share Posted December 8, 2014 Where will Explorer be from March 12 - April 24? I can't find any cruises then. There should be a transatlantic available, some time during that time as the last cruise you can book in March is from Pt Canaveral, and the next one is April 24 from Southampton.
