Hello from Century!

Hello everyone, I just wanted to drop you a quick line to let you all know that I was thinking about you.

Lois... Erol is still here and is still making wonderful marinis. I said hi to him for you and he said at least once a week someone says hi from you.. George is also here, cute as ever.

Richard is our waiter, we are at table 560 and he is a real sweetie. Well, I guess that's it for now, I'll check in later and answer any questions you all might have. The weather is great, hot, hot, hot... We are in Jamaica right now and will be leaving soon for Grand Cayman.

Hi Toni! We will be sailing the Century in August and were on last summer. I was wondering if you could check to make sure that table 599 is a table for two in the dining room.Thanks so much and have a great rest of your cruise!

Hi Tony, We were on Century May 15th and had Richard as our waiter. You are in for a wonderful time as he was the best waiter that we have ever had. You can ask him for anything you want and he will get it for you, his assistant was great too, her name was Agnus... they made a good pair. Enjoy your trip, we wish were back sailing her right now, what a wonderful ship.Tell Richard Hi for us.... tell him we were the ones who requested the Key Lime Pie and got it with no problems even though it is not on the menu.

Newt, I'm sure I would be having a better time if you were here. Thanks for all the nice thoughts, we are having a wonderful time and the girls are having way too much fun. I'm glad I'm doing the one week with them, two weeks would have killed me. Tonight is the last formal night and I was invited to have dinner at the Captains table but I felt I had to decline :( because I really wanted to share the last formal with the girls. Anyway, I did it in November and it was nice so It will be okay. Mahalia, the social hostess, is a doll and she will be sailing on the Horizon in September. Richard has been wonderful and we will definetly miss him. I guess I better run. Talk to you when I get back home...

Oh!!!! Reading this makes me excited for my Century cruise in Oct.

We are a group of 12 going January 22nd. I just read the very last member review of the Century and it was horrible. I have always read wonderful reviews and I feel better after reading your posts while on the Cruise. We have gone on five past cruises but this is our first Celebrity on the Century. It sounds like I need not worry about our choice.

We wondered if there is a hotel/casino we could go to in San Juan. It is such a short night stay that we all wanted to just find a nice place to hang.

Hi Toni:) so glad you are having a great week! You mentioned the Social Hostess...that is weird because on Garry&Bob/Tugger's cruise they said she was not very friendly. I wonder if someone spoke to her...about changing her attitude?

Toni, Glad you are having such an enjoyable cruise. You certainly looked forward to it. :)

Lois, Odd, isn't it about the SH. I'm learning from this board that things can drastically change from week to week. As you well know, we had that expierience. I do know that if a crewmember likes their job and wants to keep it, if there are complaints they had better straighten up. An unfriendly SH wouldn't affect our cruise one way or another but it can for some cruisers.

pjusgs, Don't worry about the Century. There are just too many wonderful reviews about her. We had a fantastic b/b on the Century and I would go back in a minute. Good price, good itinerary, we're there. ;)

Toni, I agree that the Century is a fabulous ship. I really love her.:D As far as the SH goes, maybe the negative comments have helped. That was the only thing that was not perfect as far as I'm concerned. And I still miss Richard. He's a jewel!;) I hope that we can cruise on her again someday.

You don't have a thing to worry about. We didn't have a "problem" with the SH, she just didn't add anything to the CC party and that was suprising. Unless you plan to interact with her and try to wangle an invitation to the captain's table, you could have a wonderful time and never get within 50 feet of her.

If we had never been on Celebrity and seen more dynamic ones or if the rest of the crew was not so much above average, I would never have noticed anything to make a comment about.
