Kcjarvis Posted October 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2013 Hello CC – It’s Ken and Paulette. We are Diamond Plus cruise addicts from Queens, NY. After having a spectacular B2B on Freedom in August and having a long 61 days till our Adventure of the Seas December cruise, we were suffering from severe cruise withdrawal. We then realized we had the long Columbus weekend approaching, we needed to be at sea. I do have to say we are not small ship people, the Freedom Class and Oasis Class are our favorites, but we did have a good time on Splendour (Enzo – call me) this summer, so we were ready to give the Vision class another go…… Enchantment of the Seas here we come… We quickly got the feeling; it was going to be an excellent weekend. A short TSA security line, 2 smooth flights to CLT and MCO, an easy $40 one way rental, a 3 min check-in, a welcome aboard picture and we were on board…. We were in Grand Suite 8528 - Standard GS in good condition minus the sliding glass door handle. (Forgot to take a picture of the bed) After dropping our bags we headed to the Park Café to check out the roast beef sandwiches. We were extremely disappointed in Splendor’s roast beef sandwiches. The meet was very well done and dry with no au jus. We are happy to report that Enchantment sandwiches are just like Allure and Oasis….YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kcjarvis Posted October 16, 2013 Author #2 Share Posted October 16, 2013 We then stopped at the bar to check and see if they had Guava for my Guava’rita. YES THEY DID!!!!!!! Then back to the suite to relax before muster drill and sail away. Hello Capt Gus Lift off and we are underway... large animal under ship as we pulled away You can tell when people love their jobs - the Staff Capt waved and blew the horn all the way down the channel That's us on the blurry webcam And we are headed to Nassau... Kcjarvis Posted October 16, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted October 16, 2013 After sail away, we went to the Diamond Lounge, which is located in the Viking Crown, to hang out. What a view!!! The Welcome Aboard Show was fun, then off to bed... (Typo - Meat not Meet)

Kcjarvis Posted October 16, 2013 Author #11 Share Posted October 16, 2013 Woke up at 8am, thanks to Paulette making a lot of noise :-) Got dressed and headed to the Windjammer. Very busy on the food lines, but no trouble finding a table. From there we walked around the ship. Be sure to check out the trampoline in the front of the ship. Sorry no pics. Then we headed back to the room to watch the sail in. Pilot coming to bring us in The Baha Mar looks like it will be amazing. Goodbye Atlantis - Baha Mar will be the new hot spot We did a 180 and backed in between 2 Carnival tug boats :-)
nolesrule Posted October 16, 2013 #12 Share Posted October 16, 2013 large animal under ship as we pulled away That's a manatee. And we saw two of them when were on Enchantment at the end of August as we undocked from PC. Our 6 year old daughter spotted them first.
Kcjarvis Posted October 16, 2013 Author #13 Share Posted October 16, 2013 We docked and took the short walk over to The British Colonial Hilton where we had a day pass. We booked the day pass online - $60 per person but you get a $40 food and drink credit. The beach was great The food, drinks and service were great also... Shout out to our waiter Shillian

Kcjarvis Posted October 16, 2013 Author #16 Share Posted October 16, 2013 We stayed at the beach until 5pm. Our bill was $6 over our $80 credit, but our server refused to charge us the difference. He even gave us 2 bottles of water and 2 rum cakes for the road. We gave him a nice tip, then headed back to the ship to change for dinner. After a quick shower, we wanted to enjoy some local food so we took a $10 cab ride to The Fish Fry. We dined at "Oh Andros" - Be prepared for a slow service, but it is worth the wait or should I say weight!!!! I had a pork chop and Red Snapper combo with rice & peas, sweet plantians, mac & cheese. Paulette had Fried Grouper It was a wonderful meal!!!!!!! We then bar hopped at the numerous outdoor bars. Then we jumped in a cab back to the ship We then headed upstairs to people watch and dance at Midnight Buffet/Sail Away Party. Today was a good day... Kcjarvis Posted October 16, 2013 Author #19 Share Posted October 16, 2013 We decided to take the longer walk over to barefoot beach. The water is extremely shallow, but the area is very very quiet. Here is our home for the day We enjoyed a great lunch of rice and bean, ribs and mango ritas. Here is a rare sight - a ship docked on the other side of Coco Cay After a relaxing beach day it was time to head back to the ship
travelplus Posted October 16, 2013 #20 Share Posted October 16, 2013 I love your title. Actually a bit of genealogy history that relates to your title. One of my Ancestors was the financier to Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand in the House of Arbarbanel and they financed Columbus to discover America. My Ancestor's son went on Columbus's second trans Atlantic journey and was quite respected by Columbus. My Ancestor's name was Ferdinand Nunes Coronel( he was a Conversos). Kcjarvis Posted October 17, 2013 Author #23 Share Posted October 17, 2013 Sadly heading back to Port Can…. What a great sunset That evening, we hung out in the Diamond Lounge. Capt Gus stopped by and spent time talking to everyone. He is a great guy. We then headed to the Adult Comedy Show. Same routine as on Freedom but still funny. From there we headed to The Quest. The activities manager hosted, we didn’t love her. The Cruise Director would have been better. Quest works better in a Studio B type venue but still very funny. When we got back to the room we had the best towel animal we had ever seen on a cruise.

We are sailing the Enchantment for Christmas. We are in a GS as well. The balcony looks smaller then the JS balcony we had on the Oasis, is that the case? Happy cruising!
