  1. If you are a Vet or in the Military, Air Tags are $26.00
  2. You should choose what your most comfortable with. For over a decade we have treasured our Travel Agent who has the scale (amount of bookings with Silversea) to seamlessly handle all our requests (suite, Air, discounts). In addition to Ship Board Credits through their travel consortium we get at least 10% cash back a few weeks before sailing. When you're booking six figures of cruises over the years this is significant savings vs direct booking with Silversea or booking with Travel Agents who do not rebate. And remember it's not just the price point and/or credits you receive from Silversea Travel Advisors or Travel Agents it's service before, during, and after your cruise. On the last Silver Cloud voyage (March 2020, Ushuaia to Cape town) during the start of Covid, we were stuck off Cape town for five days (the South Africa government fearful of Covid refuse to let us dock until day five). At day one many guests asked the Silver Cloud reception to help them change their Air arrangements (those of us who had included BC air). Silver Air was swamped getting World Cruisers home from Australia and Silver Shadow cruisers home from South America. So Reception told guests they would have to wait 4-5 days. Our Travel Agent on day one purchased Business Class air home from Cape town at their expense. This is a sterling example of service during the cruise. We have had our Travel Agent surprise us once on board with VIP status ( before we earned free laundry) and received free laundry and dry cleaning, early boarding (11 am vs noon (vs now 2pm post Covid), premium champagne, et. al. Our Agent also insured (on another line) when we went from Gold to Platinum, we received these benefits on boarding when the cruise line balked until after our voyage.
  3. Thanks for your review. Have sailed over 200 days on both Silversea and Regent and except for the entertainment during the day on Regent crossings where you have lots of sea days, prefer Silversea for classic and expedition voyages.
  4. We have done seven crossings on Silversea ships (e.g., Spirit, Wind, Cloud) concur with others mid ship lower is best. We also use the gym daily (early a.m., and pm) and swim when the pool opens and after 6pm. You will enjoy a Silversea crossing.
  5. Clothing Suggestions – Shipboard Attire Shipboard attire ranges from casual to formal. Casual wear is appropriate for daytime aboard ship or ashore and consists of standard sports outfits as worn at five-star resorts. Shoes should be flat or low heeled for deck activities. Evening attire falls into three categories: casual, informal and formal. On casual evenings, pants, blouses, skirts and casual dresses for ladies; open-neck shirts and slacks for gentlemen are appropriate. On informal evenings, ladies usually wear dresses or pantsuits; gentlemen wear jackets (tie optional). Appropriate formal evening wear for ladies is an evening gown or cocktail dress; gentlemen wear tuxedos, dinner jackets or dark suits. Tie is required. On formal nights, guests may dine in La Terrazza and choose to dress informal; dresses or pantsuits for ladies, jackets for gentlemen (tie optional). This option also applies to Seishin and Stars on board Silver Spirit. Dining at The Grill is optional casual all nights. Following dinner, all guests are free to take advantage of any or all public spaces, however, jacket is required. Sailings of 9 days or less typically feature 1 formal night, while longer voyages usually have 2-3 formal nights. Details will be provided in your final cruise documents, but the chart below provides a basic guideline to assist in packing the proper attire.

    Christmas Day

Here is what I posted when on the Silver Cloud (Antarctica) this past Christmas for a special dinner: Last night the Silversea Silversea Silver Cloud Restaurant and Food and Beverage team hit a Grand Slam as they delivered an outstanding Christmas Dinner As we made our way into the Restaurant the beverage team set up a Kir Royal station. We paired the best prepared Roast Turkey dinner we have had with a delicious Ridge Zinfandel Shown in photos are the exceptionally tasty dishes we enjoyed along with the Special Christmas menu served in all dining venues on board. And to top a magical dining experience our butler had a special Italian Christmas bread (Panettone)plated and waiting for us in our suite
  8. bobolz, the March 2023, Puerto Williams to Capetown (C2C) is on the Cloud not the Spirit. Am monitoring this voyage for any changes, will post any update here.
  9. Yes, not a done deal--yet. Hope Silversea wins the bidding war.
  10. Thanks for sharing FauxNom, hoping our 2023 C2C does not include the same change but hard to believe the change a year later won't affect the 2023 C2C voyage disembark port. If this is the case, will just do the Capetown to Mahe voyage in late March 2023.
  11. Sorry to hear about your muscle tear Lois. Admire your inner strength to enjoy your voyage but with a few changes. Know RICE is your friend; Rest, Ice, Compression (maybe the Ship Med Clinic has some compression sleeves/ace bandages) and Elevation.
  12. Brian/Stumblefoot; The Silver Dawn in April had Fever Tree in every Bar.
  13. Fair Winds and Following Seas for you Dawn voyage Lois!
  14. We concur Mr. Silver tho we now book just expedition voyages (four in next year) am doing a P2P for Silver Cloud Azores Expediton in September, then D2D for Puerto Williams to Capetown (March 2023) , then b2b, Capetown to Mahe; and then Dublin to Kangerlussauq in June.
  15. thanks for sharing Mr luxury look forward to tryin this new member of Silversea’s expedition fleet. wonder when the Endeavor will begin service? according to cruise news maybe the 22-23 Antarctica season and will be christened Silver Endeavor
  16. Crystal, exceptional summary, thanks for taking the time to share.
  17. highplanesdrifters; excellent Silver Cloud summary--thank you. Experienced similar issues with our TV on the Cloud's Holiday Antarctica trip in December/January 2022. Also, had to reboot numerous times. Suggest having your Butler make your La Terraza ressies if desired. On the Dawn in April Kaiseki had no availability any day, Joric used his Butler magic and viola had ressies even added a wonderful English couple (Wendy and Peter who are on this voyage with you) to our Kaiseki visit. Know the CD we had in December left just the Cloud just prior to your voyage, hope your CD and Reception improve. Tho, really enjoy Ryan the night auditor who man's the Reception desk from 11pm to 7am.
  18. We were on the Cloud's Antarctica voyage this past Chrismas/NY. We landed at SCL airport a little before noon and while retrieving our bags from the Charter flight were told we could use a day room if we wanted. Silversea had a rep with a clipboard there. As we headed for check-in for our American BC return flight, my luggage fell over, my wife went to lift it, when a luggage thief grabbed my wife's carry on and valuable bag and got ten feet before my wife yelled at her and confronted her--an AA rep was their immediately. Long story short, my wife (Spanish is her first language) and I then went to the Chile Airport Police station for her to make a statement (to help prosecute the thief). This took 3 hours, so we missed the opportunity for a day room. So, think Silversea will provide a day room for your voyage. Have a blast--we loved Antarctica and are going to South Georgia on the Cloud in March.
  19. highplanesdrifters; welcome to the well-done, err mean rare club 🙂 btw; also using HOKA (Speedgoat 5) trail shoes for the Silver Cloud Azores expedition voyage in late September.
  20. highplanesdrifters; agree with Mr. Silver above, if you air is not fixed--contact Barbara Muckerman, Chief Operations Officer for Silversea. (fyi, sent her a copy of your post #54 and did ask her to assist if you air situation is not fixed)

Brian, the Silver cloud Deck Plan below is accurate from what we experienced in December and January 2022. Zodiacs are stored forward just behind the Observation lounge. Fitness center is now on Deck six (as shown in the Deck Plan). Can't wait to board the Cloud again in September for the Azores expedition, then board the Cloud in March next year for Africa/Indian Ocean, and in June for Northern Europe and Greenland. https://cdn.sanity.io/files/rd0y3pad/production/26677b6ff5c4c4a743fbb8b5e1b1d4fb645400a6.pdf
