  1. We had a great time! Everything was wonderful. Our next sailing is on Indy in November. Enjoy Freedom in September,
  2. The hotel was great! Very nice staff (with one exception) and the remodel was very well thought out. Our room had a fantastic view of the ships when they made they turn coming in!
  3. Our Uber driver was on time (even a bit early) and was wonderful! We arrived at the port about 10 minutes after he picked us up at the hotel. The port was busy, but extremely efficient. We were separated from our friends as they used the general check-in and we used the suite line. We hopped on the elevator, went through security (no line) and arrived in the suite check-in lounge where we showed out passports and sat for maybe 10 minutes before boarding. There were some refreshments in the suite waiting area (sandwiches, cookies, water and coffee). Once on board, we made our way to check in at our muster station. That process took about 2 minutes. Note we had previously watched the required safety videos at the hotel that morning. Our next stop was the bar, of course! We needed to pick up our soda cups and a drink while we waited for our friends to board. They were on shortly thereafter and we were in vacation mode! They were very impressed with the check-in process as well and said it went much faster than they expected.
  4. FWIW, We just got off Freedom on Friday and did not see any "for fee" ice cream in WJ.
  5. Thank you for the replies. we are in 1548 now. It is near the elevators and a bit forward of the whirlpools. I was also considering 1278. Honestly, it may not make any difference. I just don't have experience with GSs on Freedom ships, so I wanted to ask the experts! 🙂
  6. We haven't sailed in a GS on Indy (or any Freedom class ships) before. Are there particular GSs that are better than others due to location, etc.? Thanks in advance.
  7. We just got off Freedom yesterday, so I thought I would share a brief summary of our trip while it is fresh. This trip report won't be like some of the wonderful ones I see here with lots of pictures (because I am trying to catch up on some work), but I felt it was important to share because I get so much from this group. My husband and I were traveling with another couple who had never cruised before. We arrived in Miami late Sunday evening and took an uber from MIA to the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay. Check-in was fast and hotel was very nice and clean. There is a $30 Destination Fee added to the cost of your room. This fee includes the following: Premium High-Speed Internet $30 F&B Credit Welcome Gift - 2 BPA Free Water Bottles Two Bike Rentals (up to 2 hours per room, per stay) Daily yoga/fitness classes for 2 guests per room Two tickets to Millions Billionaire Sight Seeing tour Two Welcome Drinks in “Gold Coast Kitchen + Cocktails” We had a bay view room (#9304), which had a great view of the bay and the ships. We are early risers, so on Monday morning, we woke up, had some coffee in the room and then headed downstairs to the M Club for the complimentary breakfast. The breakfast was nice. It included eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, fruit, cereals, pastries, meats, cheeses, etc. M Club includes 24-hour access for some alcoholic drinks, free breakfast, etc. If you do not have Bonvoy status, it can be purchased, but I am not sure of the price. Check-out as fast and easy. We ordered an Uber for 10:15am for the short ride to the port. Including a couple of pictures below.
  8. I have used Wi-Fi calling on the ships (even Oasis) for years and have never had an issue. It sounds like the issue could be with your phone (maybe the update referenced above). As others have stated, be sure Wi-Fi calling is enabled on your phone prior to boarding. Good luck!
  9. She said her child packed the jewelry from the safe. It seems like she is trying to do the right thing.
  10. That hasn't been our experience. The bars are typically open when we board. That's one of the first places we go! 🤣
  11. An exception can be made with a quick call to customer service explaining the situation. They will likely require him to purchase the Refreshment Package though.
  12. No such luck for our upcoming sailing. Just checked for some friends. For our sailing, The Key is $30.99/per person per day and the internet package for two devices/one person is $131.26 for the four days.
  13. I chose Breezy Bay for our upcoming cruise simply because I felt like it was more conveniently located (near food, pool and bars).
  14. For our August 21 cruise, RU opened on 7/13.
  15. I'm glad it worked out for the OP. Enjoy your cruise!
  16. I have always felt comfortable leaving mine out on the desk area during cruises and I've never had an issue.
  17. I agree 100%. Thats the beauty of cruising and why I love it so much!
  18. Very true! There are times that our schedules do not permit us to be gone for 8-9 days for a cruise due to business/family commitments. Honestly, we like the fact that there is an opportunity to sail on a new ship with a shorter itinerary. We prefer the larger (newer) ships, but most of the time a short sailing on them is not offered. Either way, there will be different opinions based on varying preferences.
