  1. No tip. It does not make sense to me to tip the person who brought the class of wine to my room without tipping the person who poured the glass. (Wouldn't tip anyway, since it is included). Also, if I am sitting in a lounge or bar I wouldn't tip the server who brought me a glass of wine. We just completed 30 days on the Discovery Princess on a B2B2B2B2B in 5 different cabins. We tipped each of our room stewards at the end of the respective cruises. We also tipped our MDR servers and head waiter and two servers we had formed a relationship with over the cruises. I felt the servers were more interested in getting a positive comment on the review.
  2. I can't disagree with that. I can see Princess removing the junk items without reducing the cost of the packages. Either way I would still buy the package, so I look at the class as a freebie. I also can't believe people will pay $30 for a 30 minute basic yoga class.
  3. That's because you can't. You have to call.
  4. After my 5 B2Bs I learned a little about Princess Folio accounting. During the cruises OBC was cumulative and the folio would show the total of the two accounts. On the last day our total folio showed $400 military refundable OBC ($50+$50+100+100+100) and $41 nonrefundable OBC, so I thought I would be getting a check for $400 in a few weeks. Not so. The first day home we got two email summaries of charges. The folio I got in my email reflected a charge of $176 transferred from my wife's account. Princess then deleted a $100 Shareholder credit and 2 $50 FCCs to make my total credit $200 less and the check I'll be receiving $241 instead of $400.
  5. Not sure I understand. Just because I have a benefit doesn't mean I have to use it. I was eligible for five free Grapevine Wine Tastings - only went to four. Canapes on formal nights - didn't take any or any of the fancy desserts. I didn't take more yoga classes, because I felt I got a better practice on my own. I'm sure there were others who took all the classes they were eligible for and possibly bought more. I did take all the OBC I was eligible for and used it to buy plus packages on two of the cruises.
  6. Yes. Just completed B2B2B2B2B cruise on Discovery Princess with Plus Package on each segment and was eligible for 2 classes each segment. Actually took 3 yoga classes.
  7. You may not find it so perfect when you try it. Just the regular Princess support that gets so many complaints.
  8. Not really. I can get along with paying for slow Internet, but not ready to give up the savings I get on drinks.
  9. We tried to have the internet charges removed on our recent B2B cruises on the Discovery Princess. The Internet Manager started to do it until he saw my Internet was part of the Plus Package. Sorry, can’t do it if internet is part of a package. They did refund internet charges on our TA and Western Europe cruises on the Enchanted Princess last year, but not the Iceland/Norway cruises last summer.
  10. There never seems to be a shortage of people who are quick to state where and how people should dine.
  11. In my experience with Princess Customer Service over the years I have found the best way to deal with it is to learn from what others have had to deal with and to be careful to not put myself into similar situations. One way is not to book specialty dinners prior to the cruise. We haven’t had an issue booking the time we want on board.
  12. No, same class each time. They also offered TRX, Pure Barre, and Tour de Cycle, but I didn’t try them. They were probably more strenuous, but the gym is well stocked.
  13. I have been on the Discovery Princess for 5 B2B cruises with the Plus package on each cruise. The yoga class on the first day of each cruise was well attended and then decreased in attendance. It was a 30 minute class that began with a few minutes of Child’s Pose and ended with a few minutes of Corpse Pose as do most yoga classes. It was a basic class and I think the most strenuous pose might have been Plank Pose for about 30 seconds. I doubt I burnt more than 150 calories, but then yoga isn’t about burning calories. Though I was eligible for two fitness classes on each cruise I only took three yoga classes, instead opting for my personal practice of yoga and the rowing machines.
  14. Why does anybody have to cut your food? Can’t you just pick it up with your good hand? Also, do you have plans for your cabin steward?
  15. We have been on the Discovery Princess for the past four weeks on 5 B2B cruises. Prior to the cruises we made Dine My Way reservations for a table for two at 5:00 PM. The first night we decided we liked our servers, so we reserved our table number for the rest of the cruise. Each night we maneuver through the crowd assembled outside the entrance and walk directly to our table. Sometimes the headwaiter will spot us and escort us to our table or the Hostess will ask us for our table number and tell us to go right in. Last night I realized that part the of the crowd was a line of people who had reservations. There are reasons the servers like us to pick a table number. The tables get filled sooner and they are more likely to get a tip. For us this has all the pros of traditional dining - Same servers and time each night - and none of the cons - being seated at a table for an entire cruise with people we are not compatible with. BTW, at 4:30 we have a glass of wine and a snack at the Elite/Platinum Lounge and then go to the MDR at 5:00. Vista Lounge is above Ketchikan MDR. Sometimes, we hear some negative comments as we cut through the crowd.
  16. You must have really good ears. But, now it's time to move on to next complaint - Room service plates left on deck outside door.
  17. I wouldn’t worry about it. Walking a lap around the promenade deck burned at most about 25 calories.
  18. Nothing I guess. I was just making a comment. I'll try to be relevant in the future.
  19. We have been on the Discovery Princess for the past four weeks. For the first two weeks I sat in the Buffet every morning watching people get their coffee out of a large coffee pot, because the coffee machine was out of order.
  20. I wouldn’t have expected any less from someone of your character.
  21. Currently on the Discovery also. Thanks for saving us the trouble.
  22. Last Wednesday the MDR menu didn’t appeal and I have a bit of OBC, so I ordered the $19 lobster tail with red skinned mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. The next night MDR menu was Surf and Turf. I had two of the same lobster tails for free.
  23. We filed our Covid claims with AON and Princess last August. They were paid in January. Can’t speak for AON, but was told that Princess has an office of 14 handling over 60,000 claims. Makes sense to me that the process has been stretched to the limit. Even more if resources are devoted to answering questions that can’t be answered.
