  1. Lots of people enjoy these activities. The OP was asking why people pick NCL. This wasn't an NCL v. Celebrity thread.
  2. I don't agree that the excursion prices are always higher. I sail RCL and sometimes they are cheaper on NCL plus the free at sea includes excursion credit.
  3. Not everyone thinks deck space for kids is a waste. Lots of people like taking their kids/grandkids/nephews on cruises . Not to mention there are plenty of adults who like the thrill activities. My husband would love the go karts. When we sailed the Harmony, my husband tried the flowrider and the ultimate abyss slide.
  4. I like Norwegian's thermal spa, freestyle dining, and Norwegian's itineraries. They have some unique ones. For example, we sailed on the Pride of America which is the only ship that sails year round around the Hawaiian islands from Honolulu. I understand the Norwegian Spirit also sails to Tahiti from Hawaii . All the other major cruise lines sail from Los Angeles and Vancouver just a few times a year.
  5. We are scheduled to go on a cruise in a couple weeks that stops in Greece, Turkey, and Israel. In Israel, we are taking a tour to the Masada/Dead Sea and then a Jerusalem tour the next day. How should I dress as a woman? Pants? A dress? Should the dress be long? Do i need to cover my head? Thank you.
  6. We sailed on the Epic in a mini- suite with our then 13 year old son. The itinerary was great. We also enjoyed the ship. My teen son enjoyed the water slides and sports court. We enjoyed the shows, dining, and thermal spa. We did start in Rome ( Civitavecchia) and spent three days there pre-cruise.
  7. If you are looking to try NCL, I wouldn't do the Getaway during winter with kids. Anthem has the indoor pool and seaplex which is perfect for winter cruising.
  8. Thanks for coming back and reporting what you experienced I want to live.
  9. Scheduled to be next month on the Jade (2,500 passengers) Only other ship scheduled that day is the Rhapsody which can accommodate 2,000 passengers. However, they leave within 2 hours of each other.
  10. As a native and lifelong New Yorker, I wouldn't suggest the vibe for a late October/ early November cruise. It might be chilly on deck. I would do a thermal spa pass instead.
  11. The Hotel will let you drop off your bags so you arent schlepping them around the City. You may be able to check in before 4pm. Then, have a nice breakfast At Friedman's.
  12. Thank you both. I just made reservations! Yeah!
  13. Do I have to be past final payment to reserve in cruise planner? Thanks.
  14. This will be only our 2nd time on Celebrity and our other time was a lifetime ago. We will be on the Apex which has 4 regular main dining rooms. We selected my time so we can try all 4 . Can we reserve our dining times in advance or do we have to wait until onboard?
  15. Well, we sailed the Epic in the Med a few years back and I got the Thermal Spa pass. It was the best money I spent. I loved that spa. It was an oasis away from the crowds on deck. I loved the thalassotherapy pool and there is a private sundeck in back. It was a few years back but I definitely remembering going late afternoon early evening after a tiring port day.
  16. Whew! Glad it worked out. How was embarkation otherwise? How crowded was the ship?
  17. I know this is the NCL board but the Anthem sails out of New Jersey and has an indoor pool and solarium.
  18. It seems to me that the least NCL should do was to offer to arrange from a transfer for the people from Montreal to Quebec. I thought that's why they were doing for the people sailing out of Trieste, Italy.
  19. Wow, is that for 2 people? We paid a lot less back in 2017. Hawaii is an amazing place.
  20. NCL has plenty of other great ships.
