  1. It was a wise choice to bail on Naples and have a relaxing spa experience. We have a port intensive European cruise booked in the Fall on another line and I plan to skip 1 port to give myself a break.
  2. Glad you enjoyed even though you came back with covid. Agree with you that breakfast in the MDR is much more relaxing than the Windjammer.
  3. I don't know when Canada will drop their protocols. However, those sailings won't be cancelled either way.
  4. The Canadian cruising season will be over in a couple months. I don't see cruise lines pulling out before then as Alaska cruises need to stop there and the Canada New England cruises are popular with northerners as there aren't too many places you can sail to in 7 days from New York and Boston.
  5. I do agree that the percentage of cruisers vaccinated is probably higher than the general population and not just because of demographics. I know people who got vaccinated just so they could cruise. Bermudabound points out that there alot of unvaccinated kids. So, perhaps during the summer and school breaks, the vax percentage will be lower.
  6. We stayed at the Outrigger Reef Hotel in 2017 and loved it. We had a great view, was on the beach, but not in a super busy spot. We loved our trip but it was 2017. For more recent info, the YouTuber parodeejay and eecc Travels recently were in the POA.
  7. Even if half wear masks that's better than most places these days. Thanks.
  8. Looks great. I think I would have tried to sit in the empty section away from the unmasked folks. Did you hear of many covid cases?
  9. Yeah, the new ports/building will be ready late 2023. In the meantime, I dont think the cruiselines will be pulling out of Bahamas where they have private destinations over testing rules. My next sailing is out of Greece where they are doing portside testing and I dont see NCL threatenng to leave Greece.
  10. Bahamas may need the cash dollars from tourists but cruiselines cant just drop the Bahamas. Where else can cruiselines go on 3-4 days sailings from Florida? There is only so much space in Cozumel. That being said I think the Bahamas will eventually drop testing.
  11. Happy to hear that you enjoyed your Garden Cafe dinner. We are planning to have dinner there at least 1 nite after an all day tour on our October cruise.
  12. Sorry to hear that. What was minimum and what did you bid? Still should be a fabulous time.
  13. It may be time to take a break from cruising. You can always try again in a year or two when hopefully supply and service aren't shortchanged.
  14. Sorry, I think that a crazy statement to say if you had to have covid to be living your life. My husband and I haven't caught it yet. We have traveled domestically multiple times during the pandemic, saw Broadway shows, ballgames, friends, etc and have avoided it. I know we will get it eventually since we have our 1st cruise back since the pandemic coming up. We do mask in large crowds.
  15. So, how did these new speed regulations cause. Royal to switch ships?
  16. I haven't sailed the Pearl but I love getting a thermal spa pass. On YouTube, EECC Travels did a whole series of vlogs on the Pearl
  17. I already had a 2nd booster in April. Do you think they will let me get the new booster even though I've already had the 2nd booster?
  18. Considering most test positive on day 6 or later and they still have to report covid figures to the cdc, it makes a lot of sense. Plus, as other have said, its just another step in the relaxation of covid protocols.
  19. Love reading your reviews and there hasn't been a Jade report in a couple months Planning to sail on the Jade later this year.
