Is the Lobster Roll standard on embarkation lunch ? I don’t see it listed on any lunch menus for our Feb Ascent cruise in Retreat. Thank You.

Would you book Vibe for Iceland/ Norway? Ambivalent as it will be cold, even in August but can’t justify Haven prices as cf to regular balcony so planning on Specialty dining every other night and now trying to decide on Vibe. Will be on Prima. Thank you.

Booked O, Vista. Summer ‘24. NCL Prima , Iceland , Summer ‘25.( ambivalent about NCL, but ports are the key for us on this one) We are also unsure about X as the Retreat product we booked last May is not the product we will be experiencing in a few weeks on Ascent. Will decide about X after complete Ascent cruise.

Thank you for your detailed review. As we are one of those couples looking for an alternative to X ( too many changes atm for our comfort), I appreciated the information. At this point though, I don’t see us trying VV either.

I’m surprised that no one on the first two cruises mentioned creaking/ groaning cabins. Could it be weather related?

I’m not blaming O for anything, but would appreciate a decision at this point as they’ve done with later cruises that have some of the same ports as ours. Personally, I don’t have an issue going to Turkey if the status quo continues , and our plan would be, to still fly to Turkey and continue our land tour , even if the disembarkation port changes. The situation atm there , is no different than it was last year. I realise others feel differently and that’s ok. I just wish they’d make a decision so I could plan.

Until Jan ‘24, no penalties to worry about ,but thereafter we would like a minimal about but by April we would have to make a decision. Off course air and accomodation has been booked so it’s getting stressful to make decision.

@Vertygo, I agree. It’s just unsettling that they’d revamp later cruises but not July. I’m just hoping that they make don’t changes after final payment when we have minimal recourse rather than now, when we have plenty of time to either stay the course or not. Personally I wouldn’t cancel, as the ship is partly our destination. I’m just not keen to spend 5 days floating around the Adriatic or Aegean with only Sea Days as we’re not looking for a laid back cruise after booking a port intensive one. We are willing to consider other Greek, Italian , Croatia ports , even though we’ve done most in the past. Thanks.

Our July ‘24 , Turkish Ovation has not any of the ports changed as yet. It’s quite unsettling as cruises later in 2024 with Turkish ports have already been altered. I accept change is quite likely, but I do hope the decision is made before final payment. Anyone else on the Athens- Istanbul Vista cruise hear anything as yet? There’s been no updates on the roll call either. Thanks.

Glad you had a good cruise. Im also curious what you asked your host to do. Morning coffee , canapés at 4pm ,laundry, extra ice ?? I’m not sure what to ask for or expect nowadays. Thanks.

@DaKahuna, do you know if AquaSS would have precedence over other suites for Blu, as it seems suites can only get into Blu if available? Also , do we need to let Retreat Team know we would like to dine in Blu ? Thanks for any info.

After our AqSS on Ascent in Feb, we’ve booked O ( 10 day was cheaper in PH with a butler than Retreat) and then NCL, for 2024 and 2025. Our plan on any future X cruises is to book Aqua ( for Blu) and specialty dining a few times. No brand loyalty anymore and we used to love X.

@kjbacon, thank you. I also find it odd that the Athens- Istanbul haven’t been changed in the summer. TA has had no notification either. penalties start Jan 20th so hopefully we will have an answer by then. No comment on roll call either about any changes.

Would you lose the OBC and gratuities , prem wifi and drink packages that were include with your orignal booking? Have not done a Move Up Bid before and am happy with the position of our Aq SS but am tempted to consider a MU Bid to a Celebrity Suite. Do I have to go thorough my TA or do it myself on the app ? Will I also lose the OBC from the TA ?

@Sthrngaryenjoying your report. Do you recall the store or area where your wife purchased the leather jacket? Did you use the tram system in Ist. I’m thinking of doing a private tour but with public transport to avoid the gridlock. Thanks.

@rmglhorne, when did you find out? Our cruise is earlier in the summer with 6 Turkish ports and an overnite in Istanbul and we haven’t been notified of any changes as yet. Makes planning a little difficult and our air , some tours and trip to Cappadoccia are already booked as well. I’m assuming the route is going to change to more of an Eastern Med itinerary, but I do hope we are informed in a timely manner.
