  3. It is not a question of who was responsible. Clearly the stevedores dumped the luggage. But we are Cunard's valuable clients. Cunard passengers have no legal relationship with the Port. There is no contract to sue upon and suing would have been absurd. The Port, however, has a relationship to Cunard. The fact that Cunard left us to our own devices is abominable. They should have facilitated our claims being handled by the Port. Cunard did nothing. Zip. I spent hours trying to ascertain what happened to our luggage, finding someone at Cunard to answer questions and finding a person at the Port to help me locate the one piece of luggage that was recovered. All they did was set up a claims email that NEVER RESPONDED. My expectations have to do with customer service, caring about passengers, and helping valuable clients when something unexpected occurs. Cunard gets an F in my book.

  6. My TA put me in touch with someone at Regent to discuss the activity level of tours. He unfortunately is no longer with the company and has not been replaced. Even the destinations staff does not always have the correct information. If we want to ensure a great trip, we just book our own tours as we would on most other cruise lines. We really have never taken ship tours as we do not like big groups and busses. We like to choose our guide and our precise itinerary, decide how long we will stay in a particular place, stop to eat, get to know the guide The fact that Regent includes the tours is of no moment. We do the same thing on Silversea where tours are included. It is more work and more expensive but worth it IMO.
  7. Being a retired attorney helps. Dogged. I'm still fighting with Chase Sapphire Reserve for the balance. I expect to win.

  9. If you have any limitations do not book regent tours. They are not suitable unless it’s a panoramic tour in a bus. Yuck my husband has mobility issues. We book private tours to make sure we have a great experience
  10. I enjoy both regent and silversea they are comparable itinerary and sometimes the ship dictates my choice
  11. I have 15 cruises on Oceania. Never going back. No comparison to regent or silversea or even seabourn the new Vista ship is beautiful but it’s still Oceania. boarding grandeur Nov 24 for a month
  12. Your contract with the cruise limits liability. Your homeowner’s policy can help but only if it’s a covered peril. Theft eg. Bags going in the water is not. The chase sapphire reserve card gives us 6000 coverage plus many other great benefits lucky for us the port took responsibility

  14. I'm booked in a Silver Suite so no problem.
  15. I am aware there is no Arts Cafe on the smaller ships. My friends are on the Shadow now and are reporting a coffee disaster. Machine not working and no place to get an espresso drink Is that possible? I will be on Whisper in March. Will I have any options for good coffee?
  16. Today I received check from Port very healthy 4 figures nothing from Cunard yet i wrote to ask when I can expect the $500 no answer
  17. We love Turkey and will be there shortly on grandeur unless I’m wearing a Star of David how will anyone know my religion?
  18. There are chair hogs on every cruise line. Silversea has some of the worst. Same is true at luxury hotels.
