  1. I did not say that there were both on the same ship. Just pointing out different rules based on what the official title is.
  2. I doubt we will make Pinnacle. And that is OK. We also do many other vacation things. And to add, just bought a Mooney. 😄
  3. Yeap, 6 points per night would add up fast. I was going to go from just making D to making D+ in two cruises. 10 and 12 night, suite, double points bonus. So 88 point jump. Unfortunately tested positive before the spring cruise (NO symptoms) and missed it.
  4. True. But they do not check your address, so you could put both at the same address and link the accounts.
  5. Not once you make Million Miler. Then you get lifetime status. In 70,000 more miles, I will have lifetime Gold on two different airlines. Others have lifetime higher status. United is 1 MM = Lifetime Gold, 2 MM = Lifetime Platinum, 3 MM = Lifetime 1K, 4 MM lifetime Global services Delta is 1 MM = Lifetime Silver, 2 MM = Lifetime Gold, 4 MM - Platinum, 6 MM for lifetime Diamond It is harder to earn 1 MM on United than Delta. United only counts miles on United aircraft and only the base miles.
  6. Many bars pool the cash tips. They have a bucket and all cash tips go into the bucket.
  7. At least they did put back the number of nights. 🙂
  8. Concierge Lounge, but not Suite Lounge. But over COVID they relaxed that from what I heard.
  9. I know on one cruise, they roped off an area outside WJ, but covered that was over some GS due to the noise complaints. If I was told that the Hotel Director would not talk to me after they did not solve my problem, I would be asking to see the Staff Captain. And probably while standing there, email mbayley about why this Hotel Director won't talk to guests with issues that are not being resolved.
  10. A lot of people here on CC agree with you. But RCI seems to take the idea that if they keep that D+, they are more likely to cruise and be customers.
  11. Sort of. On two different airlines I can give someone else matching status (million miler on each). But they only have that status until I remove them. I cannot give someone else status without removing the previous one. BT, DT. People used to get high status on airlines for low cost playing games with the system to load up on segments. But it got publicized and the airlines started adding amount spent requirement to the miles to get status. It seems that a similar concept would be good in the cruise system. But RCI seems happy with the situation. We are cruising with a couple who have not cruised before. If we were smart, we would have linked our accounts to each other's spouse and given them instant Diamond. Then linked back after the cruise. If people start doing that, and talking about it online, the system will change. 🙂
  12. They seemed to have changed that again. Cruising in 2 weeks with couple that has not cruised before. I recommended creating accounts. But C&A page now says they will be automatically enrolled after their first cruise. Really Consistently Inconsistent.
  13. WELL........ This IS RCI. My wife and I (and my parents) cruised together. 9 nights in suite to Platinum. Got divorced. Never had linked the accounts, but same last name, same address. Got GF. Went on several cruises. Tier difference was not enough to make a difference so I had not linked accounts. GF uses my address. But different last names. Ex goes to book a cruise. Still uses married last name, but new address. Finds out RCI has combined my GF's and my Ex's accounts. Ex has all the cruise points from her one cruise and my GF several cruises (so almost Diamond). Several hours on the phone, gets it straightened out, but they cannot fix GF account. So they create a new one for GF, but I have to call to get her points right (and link the accounts). I call. No one knows what is going on. I have two C&A numbers for her, and they keep getting the two accounts (actually 3) and two people confused). They try to combine the two peoples' accounts again. Get that stopped. Around and around, but finally GF's new account correct with her points, but now they need Ex to call back to straighten out her account again. All told, between Ex and I, over 6 hours on the phone to RCI, fixing something that should never have occured
  14. So you don't travel with others? You let your wife board later when you board early?
  15. Who says it is not allowed? Where is the RCI policy?
  16. Different reservations. And I can take a guest into the lounge while waiting for a flight.
  17. FYI, read carefully. You not only need RCI permission, you need to comply with all the rules of a foreign country. Many countries restrict drone flights. Also, the frequencies used for control may not be the same and you could be operating an illegal transmitter. And I hope you have met the US requirements for drone flying training and certification.
  18. Interesting, because with airlines, lower status people can check in using the premier lines with higher status people. And can board with them. Do it all the time.
  19. Have you gone out for dinner lately???? Prices are up all over the US.
  20. Just because it has been a while. You do NOT get "double" points. You get an extra point. 1 point for sailing per night +1 point per night for a suite. +1 point per night for solo. So solo in non-suite - 2 points per night. Not solo in a suite - 2 points per night. Solo in a suite - 3 points per night. There was a promotion where you would get double what you would have earned without the promotion. THAT was truly double.
  21. FYI there is also a special suite breakfast menu that includes things not on the normal room service breakfast menu. AFAIK you can only order from the dinner MDR menu.
  22. In general, you are correct, phones only have one set of wifi chips, so only one wifi connection at a time. So you cannot hotspot a wifi connection. There are a few phones with dual wifi that can do this. No, I do not remember which ones. We use the one person at a time way. It is not like either of us are online all the time.
  23. Hmm, when in Feb 2020? I did my last cruise that ended in Feb 1, 2020 Did 5 cruises on Grandeur, loved it. First on Enchantment coming up in 31 days.
  24. Must be the airports you fly out of. I know they have checked mine at every airport I have flown out of.
  25. With Clear, the Clear rep checks you ID vis fingerprint or retinal scan. TSA person only looks at the boarding pass, but does not scan it.
