  1. The ships are sailing full (ours was near capacity). So showing up for dinner at random times would not be accommodated. This itinerary is one where selecting late dining or better yet, MTD would have been a better choice. You can always go to the Windjammer, try the Solarium, Two70 cafe or Sorento's if you show up late. Or order room service.
  2. BTW: You should NEVER use your email address as your screen name.
  3. Let's hope that they never scrap the testing requirements. Based on the number of people who complain that they test positive and can't cruise, the testing is doing it's job. Let's keep the positive passengers off the ships and then only deal with those who pick up a bug on the way to the ship. We got off a cruise on Monday. After disembarking, I have received contact trace alerts on my phone for both our flight/airport on the way to the cruise and flight/airport from the cruise home. I fly for business all the time and always keep a n95 mask on at airports and on planes. Most people travel maskless, then complain when they get sick 2/3 through a cruise.
  4. What you circled is not the "RCL Criteria". The RCCL Requirements are: The test must have Emergency Use Authorization from the U.S. FDA. The self-test process must happen under live supervision on a video call with a telehealth representative. The telehealth provider must issue you a result document that includes all the necessary information. You must receive a valid results document from your test provider that includes the name of the lab that processed the test, the lab’s CLIA Lab Number or Certification Number, the address of the lab, your name, the date the test was taken, type of test, and your negative result. BTW: Our insurance company covers 100% of the BINAXNOW proctored test, so our cost is $0.
  5. No, the bed can not be separated.
  6. Actually, on most ships, the room stewards are told that they are not allowed to make the animals, even on request. Trying to be more "green" and avoid making the over worked stewards work longer hours.
  7. You should carefully read the information sent to you from the cruise line for your specific cruise. There is specific information required, specific timing and specific tests required depending on cruise. We have used the RCCL-recommended eMed home test for all of our cruises. Fast. Easy. All done at the kitchen table while sipping morning coffee.
  8. The automatic gratuity added to your room is $14.50 per person per day ($17.50 for a grand suite or above). The crew would appreciate any additional tips you give them above the auto grats.
  9. You can order anything off the menu. Multiple appetizers, one entree, multiple sides, and desserts. A couple of items have an upcharge if ordered with the package. Otherwise it is all included. Examples of our dinners include That being said, Cagney’s is one of our least favorite restaurants. To us, across the fleet, the quality of the food and service is substandard.
  10. Hanging out. The occasional late night pizza (for ships where Sorento's is open to 3 am). Teens will find a place to hang out, on our last cruise it was the library.
  11. You could DIY it and catch the train to Rome. But you must allow sufficient time to get back to the ship. One missed train on the way back will result in you missing departure.
  12. From a user's perspective, there is no appreciable increase in speed when you buy the streaming package. It just opens the ports required for many streaming services (in some cases the ports that would be required for a VPN - which many companies require). So, if you have used your 125 minutes before, it will be same speed regardless of what package you buy. Text-based emails, zoom, word processing you would be fine. It is when people send you or you want to send them large files via email that things get plugged up.
  13. That is the absolute stupidest place to put the smoking section. The place with the best views and the place where the smoke blows back over everyone else. They should put it back at the barrier to the Vibe club and let the smoke waft back over the Vibe instead of the Haven.
  14. The thermal suite passes for the newer ships (Encore) have been hovering around $299. Older ships like the Escape $199. (That is from our April cruise where we were booked on both ships). Unlike Royal who sends out "Sale Sale Sale" emails once or twice a week once you book a cruise, NCL prices normally don't fluctuate much (except upward).
  15. When we were on the Freedom a few months back: Cafe Promenade 24hr El Loco Fresh 12:00-7:00 Sorento's 12:00-3:00 am MDR 12:30-2:00 Windjammer 12:00-3:00 Giovanni's 12:30-2:00 Johnny Rockets 1:00-10:30pm
  16. The restaurants available are kinda depends on the ship. We are just off the Quantum of the Seas and for embarkation day lunch: Windjammer 11:30-3:30 Solarium: 12:00-3:00 Chops($) 12:00-1:30 Sorento's 11:00-1:00am Cafe Two70 11:30-5:00 Dog House 3:00-5:30
  17. There is very limited availability once you board. That should be top priority to book if you need their services. And don't ever be a minute late picking up your tot.
  18. O.K. There are always options, but you chose to do something "not smart". There was zero expectation for someone to sleep outside. Zero. Nada.
  19. These rules will last for the first hour. Us very old kids often wear shorts to dinner,,, we're on vacation.
  20. The system asked us to separately upload our vaccine card and booster card. For us, they are the same card, so I uploaded it twice. Worked fine.
  21. I asked about Viva Vino on the Encore in April and they said that they were not offering the package. Maybe it is making a comeback.
  22. Incorrect. Enhanced drivers licenses are not going to be required to fly anywhere. A Real ID is required to fly anywhere. They are different. Mostly Incorrect. If you are paying for a full passport book, then the card is pretty much useless. The card won't help if you need to fly home from a foreign port for any reason (ship mechanical problems, weather delays, etc.) NCL recently had to disembark a ship in the Dominican Republic. Those without a passport book at to jump through hoops to enter/leave the DR and then to enter the US.
  23. So, your first statement is that you have used the included package before. The "upgraded" package just change that from 125 minutes to unlimited wifi. The speed between the metered service and the unlimited service is the same. Depending on how you connect to your work, you may need to streaming service to open the ports needed for your VPN. The difference between surfing the web and working over a VPN is that the ship's wifi has a cache server that is trying to smartly pre-fetch web pages so that they are on the ship when you click on the link. That give you the appearance of "speed".
  24. This is the price for a 7-night cruise.
