  1. That's why Bondi is a western suburb of Auckland. 😄
  2. A couple of Cougars? Mate I'm at the stinking old mangey Lion stage of life, one would kill me.
  3. The only problem is you have to lodge your claim within 30 days. It took me 7 weeks to get a missed port confirmation from Princess. The bloody call centre insisted on putting my request via feedback. Does anyone have a direct line to the North Sydney office? You used to be able to dial a number and on answering they asked if you wanted Princess or Carnival.
  4. With those photos of Cradle Mountain, as usual the shots would have been taken with a wide angle lens to get it all in. This makes things look further away than they actually are. We were pleasantly surprised when we were there to find that the Cradle is a great deal closer than what the photo suggests.
  5. If you buy from Princess you pick them up on embarkation day.
  6. Had a Cat Scan on Monday and was surprised at the size of the hole in the new machine. I'm a bit claustrophobic too.
  7. Last time we were on carnival they were quite relaxed about things even though it was supposed to be smart casual on normal nights, can't remember the formal nights.
  8. Why is it when you try to phone Princess in Sydney that you get shuffled around the world to an operator from anywhere. Now I'm not in any way racially biased but unfortunately some of these people have a slightly less than perfect grasp of our language. This current dummy spit concerns trying to get a confirmation email regarding a missed port, so that I can forward it to my insurance company for a claim. Monday of last week I made the request, to a heavily accented operator who gave every indication that they didn't have a clue what I was talking about, and was assured that I would have it within 72 hours. I have in the past usually received these emails within 24 hours. Well here we are now and I've just completed a repeat of last week's call with a similar operator, assured email within 24Hrs, fingers crossed. To the Princess person who scans these pages, please give us a number to the Sydney office like it used to be. Rant over!
  9. In small ways the three have small differences, but if you are happy with P&O and Princess you will be happy with Carnival, we are happy with the three of them.
  10. OK my supplier is Vinomofo. https://www.vinomofo.com/ and the Black Market items are usually good quality wines too.
  11. We refuse to buy wine on a cruise because of the price/quality situation. I see no valid reason for the situation other than sheer laziness on someone's part. We take onboard the quality wines we drink at home, and happily pay the $15 charge. As a wine drinker 78 years old, from a family of wine drinkers, I have many years ago learned the most expensive part of buying wine................the shop. We buy for between $10 - $15 wines with a cellar door price ranging from $25 - $65. OK knock $5 - $15 off for a liquor store price and you can see the savings. Most of the high end stuff in reds are already 5 to 6 years old and are good for another 10 years minimum, fat chance of them lasting that long at our place. The downside is having to buy in case lots, and paying freight for less than a 3 case order, fortunately we get freight free 3 cases at a time. Over the years our suppliers have changed, usually because the un named bigger retailers have offered them an unrefusable price for their business. Am I allowed to name our current supplier here? I would like others to benefit too.
  12. Balcony, once you have had a balcony there's no going back.
  13. Not sure how they are on that ship but on our recent cruise on the Coral Princess one of our group had one every night of the 13 nights.
  14. Take the time to do the walkway along the Tauranga waterfront, see the bronze monument to Hairy Maclary.
  15. l unless as I've slept through it I could of sworn that it was only Saturday.😆
  16. I see that one has to take sandwiches to the AFL grand final due to the fact that there will be no 'Pies' there this year. 😉
  17. Has anyone had any experience changing their dining arrangements once on board the ship? I'm terrified of trying to change it via the app at this late stage, we board on the 26th. I initially booked a table for our group of 6 for every night same table, unfortunately one of our group has just been diagnosed with throat cancer and needs urgent surgery, his wife and he wanted to do this cruise before the operation but was told he wouldn't last to the end of the cruise if he did. Insurance not covering the rest of us for the cancellation, and the hired transport to Sydney means the rest of us can't afford to cancel out and i need to change out dining booking.
  18. We are with InsureandGo, and they have in the past not deducted the excess in claims for missed ports.
  19. The very cruise we are on Julie, after many years we may finally meet. First met on the old Amazon Kindle Forum as Oldie.
