  1. There is no cost involved. All Aqua (and group rates) for that matter have All Included by default. They just provided the itemized invoice.
  2. If you want to see the future of Princess, Sun does have the splash pad, ropes course and the rollercoaster-ish thing 'Rollglider'. 👍 Celebrity makes no bones to their sales teams that the target client is 40-55, high income, limited time off individuals among other things. Does that mean everyone else is excluded? No. Change is hard. A handful of people here I believe have legitimately hurt feelings that the past no longer exists. The good thing is you can quickly spot the one complaining couple on board and know who to avoid the rest of the trip. Thankfully the onboard experience isn't Cruise Critic. You can also jump to Silversea or true lux market cruises (Azamara and Oceania are not it) to get your fix of true lux 'golden days of cruises' experience but what I see is most people can't afford it or won't commit that much of their budget to buying into that type of cruise.
  3. So duplicate NCL's Vibe Club or Princess's Sanctuary? Both are popular but that would equally cause outrage among the people that think the Retreat Sundeck already creates too much pay to use space.
  4. You already know this, but you chose a 7 day cruise, during summer, in the Med, during probably one of the busiest family travel weeks of the year. Longer cruises that are outside of summer/school holidays are where you need to look. Any port in Europe that big ships visit are going to be inundated with tourists.
  5. Pricing fairly often gets wonky when you’re combining a GTY cabin with AI, and even more so if the category is nearly sold out.
  6. >>>France enter the chat. Hold my croissant.
  7. Sad to some, perhaps. They have to be forward thinking. Who is the next customer. The reality is the current crop of Boomers and Silent Gen will phase out of cruising, perhaps sooner than later. All it takes is one loss, a medical mishap or a hit to the finances and they are gone. A new crop of 'older and loyal' customers is what they are aiming to build. Edge class ships will be around in 20 years. Many of the Boomers/Silent Gen aged pax will not be. One a seven night Caribbean cruise nearly half of the passengers are Boomers (47%). That seems like a lot. However 43% are Gen X/Millennials/Gen Z. That number is what needs to continue to grow. Things will change. Boomers don't cruise the same way their parents did in the 60's and 70's and the Millennials and younger don't cruise the same way their parents did in the 80's and 90's.
  8. Quoting myself for context - too late to edit. Interestingly, outstanding FCC's for the same quarter were: 2023 .4 billion 2022 .6 billion 2021 1 billion A lot of that FCC was eaten up after the return to service between 2021 and 2022 then hit a wall between 2022 and today.

  10. Outstanding FCC's are .4 billion compared to 5.67 billion in regular customer deposits. COVID FCC's no longer expire.
  11. The increase to 20% was mentioned in the same document that discussed the increase to the daily gratuities as of July 11th.
  12. Princess pretty much gutted included dining outside of the MDR and buffet. Now everything is a la cart or you need to upgrade to a $60 or $80 pp/pd bundled extras package to have it included.
  13. I think you may be overthinking this. You don't need to give them specific instructions for the very basic frozen drinks you have listed. They make hundreds of them a day and they rarely measure anything. If one bar tender doesn't recognize it, they will ask a peer. I would not expect fresh fruit in many of your drinks either. They use the basic Island Oasis mixes and standard bar fruit (lemon, lime, orange, cherries, mint, maybe basil). If there is a menu item that has a specific ingredient, they may be willing use it in another drink. Or just ask for a recommendation. In my experience on the ships with a Slush bar they do want you to stick to the menu. The line can also be very long since it's rarely open. If you want something off menu they'd prefer you to go a regular bar elsewhere.
  14. I usually stay out of these threads due to the lack of unverified fluff that gets thrown as fact, but what I do know... There is a TA call (that has been scheduled for a few weeks) the on August 15th. On the technology front, in early 2022 there was a suite program in beta testing for all suite categories that allowed you to text your Personal Retreat Host (as it was named at the time). There hasn't been any mention of it in a while. I do hope they would incorporate something along those lines into your access to this new team.
  15. You can find photos on google. The design on Beyond is different than Edge. They are reserved for groups of 2 or 4. If you have a 2 person there is a slatted divider separating the cabana in half. You’re on the pool deck so I would have no expectation of ‘privacy’.
  16. Totally incorrect. Recent privacy laws almost always pertain to the location of the customer, not the location of the business. There are many regulations, state and federal. In the US the FTC says COPPA for applies to "all Foreign-based websites and online services must comply with COPPA if they are directed to children in the United States, or if they knowingly collect personal information from children in the U.S. The law’s definition of “operator” includes foreign-based websites and online services that are involved in commerce in the United States or its territories. On a larger scale the EU's GDPR applies to those "who are located in the EEA (European Economic Area), and applies to any enterprise—regardless of its location and the data subjects' citizenship or residence—that is processing the personal information of individuals inside the EEA.
  17. There are two different discussions going on. The question was are suites available with a cruise only rate, which the answer to that question is no. The other discussion about an error isn't really related - however anyone in a suite as a result of a MoveUp bid would have classic drinks and basic Wifi unless they upgraded separately.
  18. There is no such thing as a partial charter. It's a group booked under the usual rates or a full ship charter. No in-between. Full ship charter clients customize what they want to include or resale.
  19. Eh, yes. There are group rates and discounted group rates. Two different things. To get the cruise only fare you would have to book the cruise on your own via Celebrity then transfer to an agent willing to add it to a group.
  20. There are no suite rates that do not include drinks, Wifi and gratuities. It's totally normal for the TA to offer additional OBC. And before someone says it, they are not "sharing their commission". There are a number of offers from Celebrity that are specific to TA's that include extra OBC.
  21. It’s a legal issue. There are all sorts of privacy laws, specific laws that pertain to children’s personal information, state specific laws, the need to be able to accept T&C’s, etc.
  22. This isn't necessarily true for all circumstances or even for all tickets with this airline.I would not put any faith in what the FBC phone agents say. This sounds like one of two things. Either your flight is not ticketed yet which is likely since you are outside of final payment, or you have a fare like a Basic Economy fare that doesn't allow you to check in or select seats. From the Vueling website: If you choose the Basic Fare and don't add seat selection to your booking, you won’t have instant online check-in included. What does that mean? Will you have to pay to do it? No, it just means that you’ll have to wait until 7 days or 24 hours before the departure of your flight (check it at check-in) to check in online at no extra cost. Then you’ll be able to access your booking to check in online: you’ll be allocated random seats without having to pay extra, and you’ll get your boarding passes.
  23. Prime Verandas are on deck 6 through 9. Concierge is on 9 through 12 so there is no way you would be any lower than deck 9. There are no Concierge cabins classed as an obstruction although you may prefer some locations over others. But that risk is of course why it is priced lower as a GTY. That sailing is teetering on sold out so whatever you do I would make a decision quickly.
  24. They aren’t confused. You can tell by your rate outlined on your invoice. There aren’t ‘various tiers’. You either get Celebrity’s price by booking directly or you get a group rate the TA has secured. You can call around any decent volume agent and they can steer you in the right direction.
  25. Short answer….yes. Almost all of them do. Although Celebrity’s program is one of the best IMO. This article is overly vague but it sort of explains how it works in general terms. https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles/secret-agent-deals-how-to-find-prices-cruise-lines-dont-offer
