Hello From Nieuw Statendam! Voyage of the Midnight Sun
MAVIP replied to Sea42's topic in Holland America Line
And if you see Gede or Uman will you please send him the greetings from Joost and Magdalena, who left 4150 May 14th? and if you please will be so kind: will you try to ask Beverage server Carina (maybe in the BB King) whether she received my package with supporting stockings May 14th? After disembarkation my son in law brought them and I handed them to a young woman of port security. She promised to find a way to bring them on board. (Guest Service, Ship Security, Port agent, nobody could tell me the right way to handle this 🙂 after disembarkation.) I hope they will bring some comfort to Carina's legs..... Thank you very very much and I hope this question does not consume too much of your holiday time. 🤝 -
And if you paid in advance HAL starts with a credit of 18 days x US$ 16 on your on board statement, while actually you paid less in US. At least that's how it was with our prepaid "crew appreciation" in EUro last year and this year.

Your trip will be quite early in the morning and I think your taxi will have a smooth trip to Schiphol. Check whether your company offers the possibility for early check-in the day before the flight AND the possibility for luggage drop-off in the special system at Schiphol. Safes time and worked perfect for us. "The following airlines offer self-service baggage drop-off at Schiphol: Aero Mexico, American Airlines, Austrian, Cathay Pacific, Corendon, Finnair, IcelandAir, KLM, LOT, Lufthansa, Norwegian, SAS, Swiss, TAP, Transavia & TUI. You can find the self-service baggage drop-off kiosks in the following departure halls: Departure 1: Aegean, Austrian, Finnair, IcelandAir, KLM, LOT, Lufthansa, SAS, Swiss, TAP & Transavia Departure 2: KLM Departure 3: Aero Mexico, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Corendon, Norwegian & TUI ". Load the Schiphol app and if used properly it will lead you through the airport upon arrival. Enjoy your cruise and flights! I alsmost forgot: you can even reserve a timeslot for the security controls.....

Luggage drop in Amsterdam Cruise Terminal
MAVIP replied to islander47's topic in British Isles/Western Europe
"There are 38 different luggage lockers here (30 large & 8 small). The rates: €6.00 for a large locker and €4.00 for a small locker. These rates are per 24 hours so additional fees must be paid after 48 hours before opening. Intermediate opening and closing is possible not then you have to pay again. The lockers only work with exact change (no bills, no pin). Small locker € 4.00 / 24h W35 cm x H45 cm x D85 cm Large locker € 6.00 / 24h W35 cm x H62 cm x D85 cm Only € 1 and € 2 coins" Your 26 inch cuitcase = 66cm so that will fit the D85, but it depends on the other measures whether 2 of them will fit in a large locker. Maybe in 2 small lockers for only € 2 more. Enjoy your hours in Amsterdam! -
Extra info: https://www.cruiseportrotterdam.nl/ Is iMO an address to search for extra information about the Cruise terminal in Rotterdam. Choose for "Home" and your preferred language.

Normally from about 10:30
-
26 minutes by Intercity Direct train (€ 14,50 and € 2,90 extra). Schiphol to Rotterdam Centraal Station 51 minutes by normal Intercity (€ 14,50)

Last weeks 3 B2B's on Nieuw Statendam: "Rules" can be more complicated than reality was my experience. No separate statements and remaining non refundable OBC just passed to following week etc. If a remaining bottle might be a complication during you cruise: just take it to your cabin and bring it back to the MDR or other restaurant after the transit. Enjoy your cruise and the wine! Met groet van Lenny

You will not miss the Monaco station. It is about 14 minutes from Villefranche.
-
It is the former Holland Amerika Lijn building and the whole building is now Hotel New York. Nice hotel just accross the street of the Rotterdam Cruise Terminal.
-
They did pick us up after visiting Barcelona, so why not embarking passengers. Please read the confirmation on the Barcelona port website https://www.portdebarcelona.cat/en/web/port-del-ciudada/cruceros
-
Thank you! We will wait and see the evening before arrival, without any doubt (sans doute 😉 ).
-
B Le Havre brings you back to the cruise terminal, but this is their text for the "pick up" point: "From Le Havre cruise ship terminal: It takes only 30 minutes to walk to Place Perret (following this simple route). You can also take a taxi or the shuttle bus of your cruise ship, that connects the Cruise Terminal to the Place Perret all day long." And the time in Honfleur is fixed to 3 hours.

Morgenochtend om 09:00 uur HAL Rotterdam bellen en kiezen voor: vertrek binnen 14 dagen, kies 1 (geloof ik). Or: Call Rotterdam Office first thing in the morning and choose 1: departure within a fortnight.
-
Thank you very much! Now we just have find a comfortable way to reach the busstation as the distance will be too long for DH.
-
Check your account on the website whether your check-in is complete. Sometimes it just "disappears". Happened 3 times for one of our grandchildren (in our cabin....). Reason: I have absolutely no idea. I will check again the day her boarding pass can be printed (with barcode). Wish you good luck.

Geiranger, Mt Dalsnibba & Eagle Road excursion...
MAVIP replied to NavyCruiser's topic in Northern Europe & Baltic Sea
This is the SW (Sea Walk). You see the blue car on the road in the background? The tourbus of Geiranger Fjord service stops a little bit more left and on your side of the road....(if no changes of course....) and the tourist organisation organizing it is in the 3rd building from the left (start counting at the big red one.) Enjoy your tour (Last year was my 3rd time and I enjoyed it as much as the 1st time; always different in spring, because of the climate.) -
And Globaliser did give you a good advice too. We (living near Rotterdam) would do it that way via Leiden (special bus to Keukenhof almost in front of the railway station). My car would not drive faster than 1 mile per hour near Keukenhof on a sunny day like today..... So: 5 minutes walk from ship/cruise terminal to Metro station, few minutes in metro to Rotterdam Centraal Station. train to Leiden etc. Absolutely check the links Globaliser gave you. You will enjoy Keukenhof, I am sure.

Geiranger, Mt Dalsnibba & Eagle Road excursion...
MAVIP replied to NavyCruiser's topic in Northern Europe & Baltic Sea
If SW is mentioned for Nieuw Statendam, it will attach to the Sea Walk. Arrival at 10 and bus at 11 (be there at 10.45) should not be a problem if you walk off at f.e. 10:15 (bus stop is real close). And a 3hr tour from 14.30 on will not cause problems with departure of NS at 19.00. -
Have the same problem as OP. Tried Chrome and Edge: no dice. No itinerary f.e. and the (new) calender or word next to the pictogram on the op left does not work (like all other tabs on top dont...). In Navigator the itinerary for one of three B2B's is present and correct. I'll wait and see the coming days. Luckily I printed everything, very oldfashioned, but it works.

Holland America charging for distilled water
MAVIP replied to atitansfan's topic in Holland America Line
Must be because ordered on board. I order in advance in our account/booking and never had a difference in price on different HAL ships. -
