on ms Zuiderdam they had a pop up Cellar Master dinner and Librije. The Librije is (for quite a few years) a 3 star Michelin restaurant in he Netherlands. (3 stars is the max.) And one of the Worlds 50 top restaurants. And the decomposed apple pie consits of far more than 4 pieces and "nothing" of those parts is what it looks like. Good taste and funny.

Yes, In Rotterdam taxi's will be waiting, but as you will understand waiting time depends upon the number of disembarking guests at your disembarkation time. Driving time to the Centraal Station will be 10? minutes. Price for a ticket to Schiphol: Normal Intercity € 13,77 (depends a little bit upon time and type of ticket) and Intercity Direct (in 25 minutes to Schiphol) is € 2,90 more. It is possible to check in (and out at Schiphol) with your credit card. I do not know how the extra € 2,90 is handled and am very sorry I cannot find time to check this as we embark tomorrow morning in Rotterdam and I am packing.... LOL. Anyway, enjoy your cruise and Rotterdam!

My advise is to do this immediately after embarkation at the special desks for that purpose on board.. Done in a few minutes a few weeks ago on board compared to last year when It cost HAL Rotterdam and me lots of time without the proper result (3 cabins, 7 people, at the same time at 1 table at a few dates in different restaurants). Just book both couples at the same date/time and ask for that table arrangement on board.

We will see next cruise as I booked Canaletto (for the OssoBucco FE- but my gremolata is better 🙂 - and the Lamb for 3 nights.

Of course I donot know how it is in Canada and USA, but I checked my account on the cost of food here and the conclusion is that this year I spent about 40% more. And not because we totally changed our habits. So a change in price from € 19 to € 25 (without 18%) is not dramatic IMO. And of course, the 50% reduction, helps too. I will wait and see what my reservations in Canaletto brings us from next Sunday. Thank to you all for your comments in this discussion.

From Cruiseboulevard in IJmuiden it could take in total 2 hours....From Cruise Terminal Amsterdam about 1:30 from terminal to their entrance door..... Enjoy their work!

FE you leave the cruise terminal on a Sunday (I reckoned extra time for you with walker) at 08:16 for a 8 minute walk tot Metro station Wilhelminaplein. You go to "Perron 1" for a metro in the direction of The Hague Centraal at 08:24. Arrival at railway station Rotterdam Centraal at 08:31. 6 minutes walk (64 meters) to Spoor 9 inside the station. At 08:42 Intercity train in the Direction of Amsterdam Centraal. Arrival in Delft 08:54 AM.. You can easily check all possibilities at www.9292.nl Choose you language. Departure from "Cruise terminal Rotterdam" and To Delft railway station. The railway Station in Delft is "just accross the street" from one of the "entrances" to the center.

In weekends HAL is always busy updating and that can very well be the reason.

And in addition to the earlier answers: please download the Schiphol App. It answers most of your questions. F.e. You checked in during the sea day before embarkation and the app shows how you can check your own luggage (depends upon the airline, name airlines and which terminals in the App) and how you can reserve a slot for Security at Schiphol. Works fine!

Could you please be more specific about your cruise? I cannot find a HAL cruise from IJmuiden in July next year (2024). Which ship and which dat f.e.

We got 3 x $100 for twice 7days and once 8 days. instead of $100 + $ 250 as a grandchild joined us the week in the middle..... (And I never missed those US$ 50 to be honest 🤫).

Our solution was: further bookings/reservations via account on www.hollandamerica.com . Somewehere near the 2nd week of the 3 B2B's the last 2 weeks were connected. Maybe the IT people on board who were quite busy with the system, applied some changes/improvements???

But i always understood the protection HAL offers can be bought just before the 3 month cancellation period of a Flex booking starts. (I hope I wrote this in understandable english 😉 ).
