My TA called to see if X would allow me to change my Classic Alcohol package to the upgraded non alcoholic package and was no but to check on board. Not quite the same thing but an FYI.

I've tried several times and don't seem to be able to get the MDR reservation option. 😞

Update for me with Celebrity. My TA called X and told them of the circumstances. No problem taking DH off the reservation and I actually received a HUGE discount because X was having a sale on solo bookings. Thanks to you all for your help and info re your experiences.

Thanks for updating us! I just wrote my TA before I read this but I'll update her with what happened to you. I'm dealing with Celebrity and not HAL so might not have the same outcome. I'm bringing along my DH Kenneth so he'll be joining your loved ones in the "deep blue sea".

Please let us know how you decide to go and how it sorts out. My DH died in early March and I'm not sure what to do either. A cruise is booked for mid October with both out names. My TA thought I should just declare him a no show. I'm not sure what happens to his OBC but I'd rather lose that than have the fare repriced. So sorry you have to go through all this!

Thank you Hank! I used GeoBlu before I had Medicare coverage and thought it very reasonable. I will check with Steve's company to see if they have anything else to suggest but at this point I'm leaning towards the Chase card coverage and the Multiple Trip Annual policy with GeoBlu.

Thanks so much Hank!! Such helpful info. I was thinking about buying a Geo Blue policy and then using the Chase coverage if needed for trip interruption. I believe the Chase also covers cancellation..is that correct? I don't have any pre-existing conditions. I have a Medicare Advantage Plan and it has some coverage out of the US but only $25,000 which I don't consider nearly enough! Geo Blue covers Covid as a diagnosis and also has some coverage for a return flight and hotel if you ended up in quarantine. I too worked in the medical field and so "know the drill" !! I used Allianz when my DH was still alive because of his ill health and pre-existing conditions and I was pleased with them when I needed to file a claim last year. But that coverage is so much more expensive. Does this sound like a good plan to you? I've seen your posts for years and value your insight! Thank you!

When Blu was first introduced there used to be the "Meusli Man"! He would come with a variety of items on a rolling cart and you could create your very own Meusli. Our German friends we travelled with loved it!! They did away with that sometime ago! 😞

How ironic! We were on the Millie in AQ in '17 in Asia and Blu was terrible. I actually asked to speak to the Hotel Director. We had a meeting with him and he really listened and wrote many things down. It did improve after that.
