  1. Not really sure how you can get lost. But you can always use google maps, or imaps on your phone to get directions. Or you can do the old school way, and follow people, or maybe ask for directions. But in a bind, just walk downhill and eventually you will come to the water.
  2. I would personally take the 3 big bags and skip the laundry
  3. Two main types of people. Those that think this is my space, my vacation, I will do as I please and not care of others. The other type is those that respect the space, and the unwritten rules of courtesy.
  4. This is a weekly question. Either follow the boarding time or just arrive early and ignore the rules. Your choice, as it is well established that it is your vacation.
  5. I really don't understand all the comments. When I was a youth, going to the beach, included a boardwalk. I went to the beach and laid out, than the boardwalk to play games, get on a ride etc. Why is CocoCay any different? No one makes you go to the water park or get on the balloon. But if you want to, it exists just like the beach. Then all the people that complain that not enough swimming on the ship, and not enough chairs, but than complain that the beach is too crowded? I never waited in lines to get food that were any longer than the Windjammer. Always easily got a drink. Plus I have not yet went to the water park, since I have no interest. It's an island for families to enjoy and plenty of beach front to swim in
  6. Honestly I never thought the MDR was momma's kitchen. I get the menu, and pick stuff off of it. I think some of the issues as always is that special orders got out of hand, and they just put their foot down. Like the drink packages, abuse leads to change.
  7. maybe the gear shifter was stuck, and they couldn't get it out of reverse?
  8. There are many ways to book travel, but if you are looking for the cheapest, sometimes a sacrifice is needed. Sometimes, it costs extra to pick seats. Sometimes you have no choice. But at the end of the day, you either go cheapest or pay for what you want. But the end result is you arrive at your destination. I can handle being separated from my spouse on a flight if it means that the end result is a nice long vacation .
  9. Well, I have experience both in the main stream lines in the USA, and international trips, and I can assure you, I have a hundred stories to tell about how I witnessed people get turned away because of the simple idea that a dress code on a ship, is enforced when not in the USA. The webpage does give you what you should be wearing plus it is assumed that adults will wear long pants, and collared shirts or button down shirts unless it is formal and ladies will wear matching appropriate clothing for women. Shorts and t-shirts are not permitted. The ships do have alternative dining if you don't want to be "formal" on formal night. I personally will have a jacket and tie on because that is what the definition is. On our seven-night cruises we host Gala Night and the Captain's Cocktail in honor of our guests, and we ask that you attend in formal attire: a cocktail dress or something smart for the ladies, jacket and tie for the men.
  10. Am I missing something or did the poster ask which type of room as a pull out couch bed? I often sailed with two adults and two teenager boys (who were adult size) and never had an issue. Although it was always a pullman so I can't answer
  11. Please don't take this harshly, but dressing on a cruise like this is basically asking for you to dress like an adult that is not from the USA. Most people on this type of cruise will not need to ask such a question. T-shirts, swimsuits, robes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps, and pool wear are not allowed in the main restaurant or specialty restaurants at any time. In addition, shorts and flip-flops are not permitted during the evening hours.
  12. Whenever you go through a third party, you have to wait until the ticket is released. It might be frustrating but on the other hand, the money savings might be worth it.
  13. Don't over think it. All ships will have noise (it's a ship, moving through water).
  14. Just call RCCL because no one on this board actually knows, and your answers are all over the place.
  15. First thing, does the excursion yes or no to wheelchairs? Usually if it is no, it won't be listed. Next if it is no, than google the excursion, find out what tour company, and send the tour company an email direct and ask questions from them (and not the cruise line). I have been on so many tours watching people get upset because they "were told" by some random people that they could go and they couldn't. Don't be that person. This is not the place to ask for your needs. I have traveled with my wife for decades, and she has a travel scooter. I will either contact the company, and ask, or if not, see if there is an alternative way. Either way, I always find a way to get things done.
  16. I have a checkbook. I wrote out 1 check in 3 years out of my checkbook. But yet, I also know people my age, that will pay bills by check and never do transfers out of the bank. They aren't old grandparents. But yet, they don't trust transfers, but ironically they trust a check. If she is paying by check, maybe pay another family member to complete the transactions for her?
  17. Whenever I see one issue of a complaint, I believe it. When I see that the room was not cleaned, AC broken, staff rude, food was "burnt" every time? I just think that the person needs to stay away from ships. If you like your AC to be set at 62 and your room will not get that cold, than it's not the AC broken, but the expectation. I also might think it's possible, the staff being rude is part of they might be tired of getting the complaint over and over again. But I just don't really believe the post.
  18. I would email your request and and than follow-up once on board.
  19. Use WattHour.(WH). We have a travel scooter, and we carry two batteries with us at all times. When one dies, the second one is on. We use lithium batteries, and both combined fall below the airlines 300. We get between 12-16 miles on both combined. I did not even know a travel scooter can ever get 18 miles because the batteries are usually 24 volts and not 48 volts. Many batteries can be charged off a 12volt car, 110v or 240 volts. Check your charger, and it will tell you what the "input" volts can be. The output volts go to the batteries. Yes, your charger would need to have the right plug, but in Europe and many places the plug is a unversal plug, thus it may be 240v but can accept any type of pins
  20. My first cruise, many many years ago, a TA booked it. I had no idea what the rooms were, or where they were. But now, of course, you can do it yourself, and see the map etc. But I think many people do not know or care to know, and a stranger (TA) takes care of it. A couple of years ago, a couple had no idea what excursion they had, or what was included in it, their TA booked it all for them, and just gave them the schedule. Listening to them was funny.
  21. Regardless of what ship you are on, if the weather is bad, you will feel it.
  22. Just get the unlimited dining package and try each one. Once you are finished, report back what was your favorite, because I have no idea what you like. By the way, all menu's are posted, so you can choose what you want before making a decision.
  23. People no longer wear a mask, and most will never test again.
