  1. Tipping threads are also conspiracy threads.....and are useless.
  2. Why are you asking? Not really something anyone can answer definitely on these boards, since it can change weekly, and per port and even randomly
  3. Ask on a board like this, and you will get numerous answers. But go to RCCL and they will tell you exactly what you need, and than go to your airlines and they will tell you also. Than come back here and see how many wrong answers
  4. The government requires certain taxes to be paid, and on many international trips, a sales tax and a VAT tax, and let's not forget if you go over your limit, you have to pay a duty. Just because it is required does not mean the government or insurance needs to pay for it.
  5. Well, my wife uses a travel mobility scooter, obviously not the same thing, but we traveled all over the world with it. Is it comfortable? No. Can it be bumpy? Yes. Are sidewalks sometimes complicated - narrow and with obstructions? Yes. But it is not really different with steollers, but you might reconsider a double wide, and each push one. Sometimes, I need to give my wife a "boost" going up some areas, but again, it is just the way it is. Enjoy your trip, don't be afraid, get something light weight, and in the worst case, you might have to carry short distances but most likely not.
  6. In that case, why does it matter what the capacity is? If are afraid, than the capacity does not matter, it is best not to book.
  7. Well, first, you said how to find a double stroller? Just like all vacations, you need to bring your own supplies, so it's time to go shopping and pick items that will work for you. It is part of the cost of doing vacations. By my second vacation, I was using umbrella strollers and leaving the big one behind. An umbrella stroller is easy to manage on tours.....a wheelchair is not, so that is why they tell you about mobility devises. A stroller is nothing like a mobility device. You are never going to find the perfect remedy to your specific needs, but whenever possible, you should try to do things on your own, or with a taxi, etc just because it might also make it easier than trying to do things with big crowds. It might be more enjoyable for you, and having less stress.
  8. Well, we have our own travel scooter and is used everyplace and has traveled around the world, so I can't help you. However you you say "lugg" your own scooter through an airport? Don't you drive it? Do you have a scooter? I don't understand why you can't bring it. You aren't clear on exactly what some of your statements mean. In order to rent a scooter on the ship, a company must be available. It is not the cruise line that rents them. I tell all "disabled" travelers that if you are not willing to make sacrifices and/or adapt to the different countries, than traveling is not for you. Buy your own travel scooter, and enjoy life. Plus, you should post this on the disability board
  9. The main reason it would not be allowed, is they would wonder why you need a baby monitor? The fear is that you plan on leaving a kid alone, when they should not be alone.
  10. For my entire life until the last two years, if you were sick you went to the doctor, and they administered the test, or ordered the test. I firmly believe the nonsense of getting a test for free because you want to travel is a waste of taxpayer money. Travel is a luxury, and the test is part of the cost of traveling. Now, I'm not saying I did not get free tests in the past, because it is available, just saying, it should not be the case. Also, you don't need a test to travel now except for a cruise. Testing is like port charges, taxes and tips. It is part of the trip. Hopefully soon it will be gone but that would require more small countries to stop it.
  11. Yes, it is not their responsibility if you get sick, and can't prove where you got sick
  12. I guess I don't care? I'm still going on trips
  13. I always thing that once off the ship, you are on your own. I don't even understand why the ship would be responsible for you or your expenses.
  14. Goodie bags? Sounds like all you need to do is deliver the yourself. Don't ask the staff to hand out your presents.
  15. Sounds like you booked a cruise, and had FCC to use. It sounds like they paid off your cruise 100%. You now have some left over FCC. You also have a balance. Port charges and taxes are not cruise fare, but are separate line items, and they can not be used for FCC. Look at your receipt, and see what the port charges and taxes are. If it matches, than you know for sure, you need to pay the $187.00. It can be frustrating to understand all these rules but it does sound like you most likely need to pay it. Any left over FCC can go to the next cruise.
  16. Just take the train to central station, and walk a block. Train is at the airport. No need to share a ride.
  17. You don't need to prebuy tickets. Just go to the ticket booth, and you can always ask those questions. Also, google this show, and you will have plenty of pictures to look at the seating area to see if you like it.
  18. Remember that the test is primarily done for regulations of where ships sail. Having a test is not necessary to travel on a ship, and if you already been vaccinated, it is good enough for them. So how closely they check or not, makes sense, but regardless, I would not show up without the test since it is required. Side note, I filled out arriveCAN for Canada on the app, and not once did anyone look at it.
  19. Yes. Go to the internet, than google, and type in Covid testing Barcelona. Whey you do this, you will see the official testing sights. Very easy to do, the google thing. Because if I actually answered your question, which I do know the answer, it won't help because you still need to do this, and appointments are recommended. Plus I'm not going to google for you.
  20. I have been to Copenhagen, was asked for my passport for ID to get into a place. I am going to Barcelona later this summer for a week. I have a ticket that clearly says bring a government ID, and if outside of Spain, a passport is required for the id. I have been in Asia, several places I had to show my passport as the only acceptable ID. It is nice you never did, but I have several times. If for any reason, you have failed to meet the ship (it happens) you need your passport to get to the next country to meet the ship. You can protect your passport, with a security pouch to carry. I will never leave a ship, or travel to another country without having my passport in my possession. Just like at home, I do not leave the house w/o my DL, I see no difference. I'm not going to argue with you, but the risk is greater leaving it behind, than to carry if you carry it safely. It was required to check into hotels in several cities. I had a traffic checkpoint in Morocco, and had to produce my Passport to the security force/police.
  21. Go to weather dot com for extended weather for each city 15 days prior. No differences on the ship, it is a Bahamas flagged ship, with an international crew, and all the food and shows are the same. English is spoken by the crew. Money on the ship is USD also. People dress what is expected, not what they want. I would not say more formal, but they aren't going to wear shorts and flip flops on formal night either. Plus if you decide to do that, they will look at you strangely. Cash on land is Euro's. If you want to be ripped off, ask them if you can use USD, and with a big smile, say yes. (I watched people buy a can of beer at a vendor where the ship was docked. A beer was about $2.00 in local exchanged money, but they were taking $5 in USD. I know it's not much, but the can was a small 7oz can. Bring your passport, that is your ID and you might even need it to get into some places. Use a credit card and always use euros, and never allow it to charge you in USD. your card will use the current exchange rate, not an inflated rate they are using. Preplan everything on land.....so you know what to expect.
  22. Good news.....the poster had vaccines, boosters, wore a mask everyplace, stayed away for people, socially distanced, hand sanitizer 25 times a day and got COVID. But the good news is that the 95% of passengers that did not do any of that had no COVID. I'm going with the odds on my next cruise of no mask, hand sanitizer, and cramming into elevators. Will feel safer that way.
