  1. a la carte pricing has a fixed price amount that you can use. IF you go over that amount, you pay the differance.
  2. IF every person brings another family into the priority line, it no longer is a priority line. The right answer is just check in with them, just like all the other benefits, they are earned.
  3. Elevators and how crowded are driven by peak events, and not an issue to be concerned about (things that you can't control, go with the flow)
  4. Those that pay full price, will get first choice. Those that pay discounted price or package must wait for boarding day. This is the price you pay for discounts, but I never had an issue.
  5. Hi, you never said, if your sister has her own scooter? If she does, than she needs to measure the wheel base width. Without knowing what the scooter is, brand name, or width, makes it impossible to answer. If it is scooter, designed to "fold up", which is considered travel scooter, than it is easily put into any cabin, often times with some help from the other person. Some scooters will also disasemble, into four parts, which than can be done in the hall, and moved into the room, but a little more work. Travel scooters sometimes will fit into the door, full sized ones, very seldom. Very seldom, we use an accessible room, have a fold up travel scooter, and just unfold it in the hallway when needed. Yes, of course, some people will tell you it takes up room, but anyone disabled, does not care, because like other people, what they bring, is what they need.
  6. The poster literally asked if the scooter, can fit inside a standard room.......and scooters can fit through narrow doors.....I have first hand knowledge that they can, and they can go into a standard room, and a person that has a scooter, knows what it means to fold or dismantle a scooter
  7. If I am really hungry, I just buy something locally. It never seemed to be an issue and never very costly
  8. All they need to do is drop luggage off, check in, than exit the building. Don't even need to go on the ship.
  9. Tell you friend that the person that got the tip, saw it, and that is all that matters
  10. First, prepay your tips, it is part of the cost, and is $16.00 per day. This is not a USA customary amount, but a cruise line customary amount. Second, a persons pay is not anyone's business. They get paid a customary amount for an international cruise line, not an inflated dollar amount based on USA standards. They don't belong to the USA. Tips are added to drinks, at 18% and for whatever reason, they chose a USA customary amount, but they should not have. Should be more like 5% at most. No one cares if a person wants to tip extra on a drink, that takes 15 seconds to make. I will not and am proud not to. If I get a receipt, I will never sign it, just put an x across the money. If I do tip extra, for the room or dinner, I certainly will not tell anyone I did it, since it is no one's business what I give or don't give, but most times, I give nothing extra. I tipped the customary amount already. Customary tips always was shared somehow in back of house. Never our business to care. So called nickle and diming is not tipping, although, if you prepaid everthing, than no need to pay anything.
  11. Took only one post fof someone to brag how much they tip extra.....instead of just answering the question.....hopefully this does not turn into a bragging thread
  12. Yes, but the poster wanted to know if they can eat lunch in a specialty restaurant on boarding day....which is yes, they can, and any time a place is open they can eat because it us unlimited dining package. Those that get it generally are not really interested in a buffet or a Hot Dog when they can get a steak at Chops plus depending on the ship, there could be several places open.
  13. If you get a HA room, and have a scooter, than you should involve special needs. If you travel with a travel scooter you don't need to let the ship know. For example, my wife does not need a HA room, and sometimes they are tough to get anyway. So, we have a normal room. The scooter folds, and is only used off the ship, not on the ship. So, although the door width is small, when folded, I can easily move into the cabin. We also use normal hotel rooms mostly. Some European hotels are tiny. However, whether it fits nicely or not is not an issue for a person that uses it. It is just a fact of life that you will need to walk around it. The poster asked about a TA, which is not closed loop. Outside approved vendors most likely won't rent scooters on those trips. Best bet is still bring your own, and it looks like the poster might only need a push chair.
  14. Did you just ask if your can split your plate, and let your son and DIL take scraps from your plate? If you want drinks together, then go to a bar. But if you want food, your food is paid for, and they pay for their own food, or don't go.
  15. Not sure what the question is. Will, you not go because the boarding is not the same as in Florida? Will that ruin your trip? Every country is different, just like every airport is different. Some are much better, and some are worse. However, I have never been concerned at boarding or getting off. It is a thing that must be done, and however it is done, it will eventually be over, and the trip begins. Horror stories come from people that feel entitled for a certain way of doing things, and when it is different, they think it's bad, when in fact, it is normal
  16. Just hoping that the weekly question would go away.....but I know it won't. Tomorrow will be tipping.
  17. are you talking about a wheelchair or scooter? Big difference....plus you said this is a TA, not a closed loop, also a big difference. The cruise line does not rent them, you must rent from approved vendors (TA will be the issue). My suggestion, is buy a push wheelchair and use it. They don't cost much, and you get to keep it for the next trip.
  18. This topic of conversation has been going on for a decade now......and beaten down so much, and the answer is still the same. Dress like an adult, or dress, like a teenager coming from the beach. It's your vacation, so do what you want.....which is now part of the new generation of cruisers.
  19. People said the food quality declined prior to 2020 also......pretty sure this has been a topic for a decade. (It was Summer, so the weather was hot....it's the Caribbean).
  20. I never had a need for a pocket knife on a ship. So, my suggestion is leave it at home, and problem solved
  21. My euro converter is my calculator on my phone or an app. The two pins are used outside of Europe, including places in Africa and in China and Thailand. Some areas in Europe also use the Type G plug. Switzerland and Liechtenstein uses the Type J plug. So, three different plugs in Europe, and many of those used outside of Europe as well. But Euro is a currency......not a plug
  22. That's a power strip, it take 1 outlet to 3 outlets. An adapter only changes the shape of a plug but does not add extra jacks. Huge difference. My $0.99 adapter is not a strip.
  23. For starters, EURO is currency, not electricity. The plug is 240 volts, and it is a two pin plug, but some of the plugs are plugs designed for just about any type of pins. But the converter plug to two pin from flat pin is not a power source, it is simply a adapter to change pin shape. NO, the ship is not taking adapters. Just make sure anything you plug in is dual voltage, or you will fry it
