  1. Ships get product from "local" vendors and the freestyle machine, uses specialized little syrup things in it. For many things on the ship, if it is not "common" product in the area, they will not get it. Same things happen for certain beer etc. Even some veggies on dinner plates might be changed for local fresh product. Bok Choy seems to be a common substitute.
  2. If you know you can't check in, than you must be using the app. It will tell you the check in date on the app
  3. 3 sockets......2 @ 110 and one @240v. Some newer ships have one by the bed, and some have USB plug also
  4. Spectrum Has a Tea and Coffee shop, in place of the English Pub, since in Asia, drinking Tea is a major item. The shop is within a few feet where you have a coffee stand on her sisters. Main difference is that it is bigger, and has lots of tea drinks. My answer is that the products (including the fancy coffee drinks) are the same as all the other ship, and with it being based in Asia, is not really different. Yes, the coffee is literally 25 steps from the location on other ships, but the offerings are the same. But they are expanded. This shop also had desserts but I'm think it was a charge for it also. Coffee and Tea, if you had a package it was included. I would not call it different (the coffee part) but the tea side it was extremely better.
  5. The ship has a coffee bar and had a tea cafe with an extensive tea menu. All the fancy coffees were available
  6. That does not make a difference. Been on 3 different Asian cruises, and outside some variations, and dual language announcements, it is the same. Some brands are different but how things are handled are no changes.
  7. That didn't take long for someone to argue what the meaning is.
  8. Currently out of Singapore, where English is widely spoken. However, it can be the "second" language on the ship. When the ship goes back to Shanghai, if it ever does, than the language will be Manderin. Although, they mix some Asian food into the menu, the menu is mostly the same as all the other ship. Think of any Asian foods as "comfort foods" for the market. Plus, you will be a minority on the ship but that would make no difference in the amount of fun you will have.
  9. Spectrum is exactly the same as other ship, it is a USA based ship, with English spoken and USD currency. Although some products may be different (brand of water) there is no difference. Coke products are sold around the world, and also coffee.
  10. Well, you can't hole punch a credit card, you passport card, your global entry card, your drivers license, and we live in a society now, where, we handle, multiple touchless cards with RFID chips in it.....so it's a surprise that the seapass card, which acts as a credit card, and on some ships, a touchless room key you can't hole punch? (Note the pandemic has nothing to do with technology). So some ships are still using older technology, the new ships are not. They do sell clear plastic sleeves you can use.
  11. The word "suggested" usually means to do it, for most of the world but on a cruise ship in the USA, the meaning becomes warped. I'm sure you will argue with that statement, but dressing nice for dinner is not that bad.
  12. Really don't think that would work out for the guy.......Girlfriend dresses up, does up hair, and make-up, and the boyfriend goes in t-shirt, shorts, and flip flops? That relationship won't last.
  13. Depends on the cruise. My next 7 day has 3 sea days, and one coco cay day. Plus embarkation day. So basically only two port days. So I got it, and wife got refreshment package. However, on an international cruise, that is port intensive, I do not get a package, and I do get diamond drinks for free. I will break even on the booze, but the water, soda, coffee etc barely will make me say it is worth it.
  14. When someone says you need something like this, it means that they believe you should get it for there piece of mind. You do not "need" any type of medical test in the USA to get on a ship.
  15. Technology is great, but the understanding of it is lacking. Airtag is an item that requires to have a signal picked up by another devise, with location transmitted into the cloud. Same way for finding your iPhone, or watch or iPad. Example at the airport, you might see it near the plane. But at some point in the hold of the plane, it is "lost" until the plane lands. You will see it a thousand miles away at it's last known location. When unloaded, there is a good chance that it will get pinged again, and show up as arriving. It is a tool, and it is not fool proof. But is it worth the price? I have one on my wife's scooter, and it gives me a piece of mind faster when it arrives, plus it helps also to make sure it will be at the gate, and/or for some reason sent to oversize luggage.
  16. This post reminds me of the Titanic movie, in the beginning where you saw some rich people bring 15 bags with them for everything they can't live without.
  17. Note that RCCL does not require a passport or a BC. The countries that you "enter" require proof, and that would be the Bahamas, and return trip, is the USA. Immigration does not accept copies, but real documents. Don't believe what you read on a message board. The 6 month rule is based on the "safest" info to tell a traveler. For example, if you are a citizen of the USA and returning, you only need a valid passport. However, some countries require the passport valid for duration of stay, some 2 months, some 3 months, some 6 months. So safe to say 6 months. For the Bahamas and return to USA, the passport would be valid. (Especially since both countries accept a BC).
  18. Oil Every 10k miles. Tires hood for 60K miles. But that has nothing to do with the post
  19. It is a sales pitch for new ships, a little entertainment, and some free drinks. However, Gold is the bottom of the tiers, and it's something you won;t be able to go to, without an invitation.
  20. They live up North, so pretty sure they would not need to do anything like that to drive to Florida. I drive distances all the time, and never bother with any of that.
  21. 30 years and never had one. But I always owned a computer and internet and did everything myself. Are you sure vacation planners were not just a CSR in disguise?
  22. 18% is added to all drink prices, so no, you don't tip beyond that, ever.
  23. I thought you were going to say, that your child won't find anything he likes! The child can order anything on the main menu, or kids menu that he wants. If he has something favorite, let your waiter know.
  24. I don't sort trash. I don't clean my room. I don't wash dishes. I don't rinse my plates off. I don't worry if the "employees" are working or how they do it, or perform it. I pay for it, and am happy to let them do their jobs
