  1. So, when you say that we can bring wine onboard without paying the corkage fee if we have the drink package, is that with the regular FAS drink package or only with the upgraded drink package? Thanks
  2. Been having issues for a week or more. Last week all my dining reservations were missing and couldn't see any package upgrade offers. Now my offers and dining are back but I'm showing a negative balance or credit of around $300, been paid in full for months now. Think they'll credit it to me if I call. LOL!
  3. Before covid there used to be water, soda, beer and sometimes small bottles of vodka or rum or other liquors all for a fee. When they first restarted they left the frig empty for sanitary measures. I'm not exactly sure what they are now stocking the frig with as we, like many others here, ask to have it emptied.
  4. Is there a fee to use the pool, chairs and umbrellas in Taino Bay?
  5. Well, looks like the Captain was too optimistic. It's 3:30 and you're still in port. Hopefully, you'll have a beautiful sail away soon. Wishing you a great cruise!
  6. Thank you so much! Yes, we are using the Special Needs assistance which only works in the terminal. They are not allowed to cross the street (although the porter will). Last time a bike race closed off the street and it was a real struggle to get across the street to get picked up. Hopefully no road closures next time! LOL!
  7. Really enjoying your report. Thank you for taking us along. When you arrived at the pier, did it look as if there were people waiting to be picked up at the same area as you were dropped off? DH needs a wheelchair assist and it would be much easier if he can be picked up at the terminal building instead of across the street. Thank you and have a great cruise!
  8. I would also suggest throwing in a few Covid tests. Easier to check yourself if you feel sick than going to the medical center. I'm a notorious "just in case" overpacker too, but I have saved the day at times. Enjoy your cruise!
  9. I've often struggled getting the picture accepted and then they seem to always take another at the pier anyway. Can you download e-docs without uploading the picture? I thought you couldn't get e-docs until all the areas had a green check mark.
  10. Well, obviously they didn't hold to that. LOL! I don't think it was a good idea to not have a roof either way. Even in warm climates there's rain or really hot days. That's when an enclosed area would come in handy. To spend all that money for the Haven and then have it be unusable definitely doesn't make sense.
  11. Did you mean Jerry Lee Lewis? Really enjoying your live reports. Sorry about Bermuda. One thing that seems really strange to me is that the Getaway doesn't appear to have a covered Haven Courtyard. This really doesn't make much sense for a ship sailing from the Northeast during the winter months. Have you found that it impacts your use and enjoyment of the CY area?
  12. I know it doesn't help with the frustration factor, but can he buy some in port to bring back on the ship? I seem to recall that they now allow you bring wine or possibly liquor onboard if you have the drink package. I know, they really should have it in stock though. Especially in the Haven. Enjoy!
  13. Only one device can be connected at a time. It doesn't matter whose device is being used or who is using that device. You'd just have to sign in to the account set up by the person with the upgraded package.
  14. Depends on the weather and wind. We had wind on the forward balcony but were still able to use it every day both times sailing when were were in 16700. Loved the cabin and the balcony.
  15. We've stayed in 16700. Our steward did say that there is a foldable wall between the suites and that the H2 can also connect to the suite behind it. Basically making it into a 3 suite suite if you book all three suites.
  16. Thank you for your report. The Gem is also one of our favorite ships. Although the Haven area is not as expansive as the newer ships, it's still a nice area. My happy place in warm weather is the round covered loungers upstairs on the sun deck. Glad you're not letting the delay ruin your vacation. Have a great cruise! Enjoy!
  17. I have brought the boxes of creamer cups on almost every cruise. I have them in my carry on. I've never been stopped or questioned.
  18. Jamie- As a long time cruiser who has had even tinier bathrooms on a cruise ship. Here's my leg shaving tip, Put a towel on the closed toilet, prop up leg and use a soapy washcloth on your legs, then shave. The sink is right there for rinsing. Good luck! Enjoying your report. Happy cruising!
  19. Love your enthusiasm! I hope you have a wonderful cruise. I'll be curious to hear what is open in Bermuda in January. Especially in the Dockyard area. We'll be there in March and we were thinking that not much would be open. Enjoy!
  20. That actually isn't a bad list. There's a lot more choices than there used to be. Of course once onboard you may not get all your choices. We had asked for the East West Red Blend, but apparently our Butler couldn't get any and substituted another red wine. It was fine though.
  21. I know you can use the Haven check-in on Jewel class ships, but not sure about Prima or Joy. I seem to recall some people having issues at least on the Joy. Worst case, go to the Haven check-in person and give them your suite number. If you're on their list you're in. If not, they should be able to direct you where to go. Good luck and enjoy!
  22. Also, in regards to making reservations. I remember sitting in the terminal in New York and someone was making dinner reservations while they were sitting in the terminal waiting to board. I don't know if they were using the APP or somehow connected to the ships wi-fi. It might be worth a try if you're killing time sitting in the terminal.
  23. We have sailed out of NYC many times. The problem is that it is inconsistent. Sometimes there's a special Haven line for security and sometimes you wait in the regular line. Just keep looking for anyone with a Haven sign or a clipboard at the entrance when you first walk in (sometimes right sometimes left). Once through security follow the Haven signs. The Haven Lounge lately has been all the way at the back of the terminal. Good luck and enjoy!

  25. The Intrepid is basically a 5 minute walk. That may be your best bet as if it's getting close to boarding time you can just leave the Intrepid and walk over to your ship. I do believe they sell walk up tickets, we visited spur of the moment several years ago. You should be able to see most of it in 2-3 hours. Enjoy!
