  1. Testing & Pre-Embarkation Protocols For all sailings September 3, 2022 and beyond: For all cruises (unless country requirements differ – refer to Cruise Travel Requirements by Country. Age Vaccinated Unvaccinated < 11 years No testing requirement. No testing requirement. ≥ 12 years No testing requirement. Proof of a medically supervised negative PCR or Antigen test taken no more than 72 hours prior to embarkation is required.
  2. Right. So no requirements for Canada and the only people who need to test for NCL are any unvaccinated passengers. Looks like the Canada protocols have been updated on NCL's site. Hopefully Bermuda is next. It'll be so nice to just be able to board a ship again without all the added stress of extra forms and tests.
  3. Fingers crossed for a quick response. Will appreciate hearing anything you find out.
  4. I would suggest sending an e-mail to corporate. I believe the address is vicepresidentguestservices@ncl.com. The woman's name is Katty Byrd. Ask your specific question. I have found they generally reply within a day or so. This way you'll have a written response from NCL to show if you have any problem. I had gotten help from their office last year when there were questions about Bermuda's protocols. Good luck!
  5. Thanks for the info. For some reason I thought you were getting into NYC tomorrow. Glad you still have another full day and hope it's enjoyable!
  6. Sorry your trip didn't go as planned. Sounds like it was a real mess in Boston. It did make me wonder though what happens to people with vouchers from the casino if it doesn't open? I know I often cash out and keep the coupon to use the next day. There may be a machine for cashing tickets but I'm not sure. I wonder if they can somehow allow the casino to open to cash tickets. I guess anyone with coupons better get to the machine before it runs out of cash! Lol! Hope you manage to enjoy the rest of your trip such as it is.
  7. I also dislike the dining by the Haven pool area. We were on the Breakaway last October on a probably half full ship. There were no loungers by the pool area then either, only those weird day beds things and the chairs and tables for dining. I think that's fine for breakfast and lunch seating, but there should also be some lounge chairs as there are in the Jewel class Havens. The other issue is that people use those dining chairs after getting out of the pools and they can sometimes be very wet. Not fun if you're not in a bathing suit!
  8. Fingers crossed that if this passes that it will also remove the mandatory pre-embarkation covid testing for cruise passengers. I believe that as of now, cruise passengers are the only ones who need a covid test to enter Canada other than those picked for random testing. As the test is sometimes done on some cruises days before entering Canada, it didn't seem to make much sense.
  9. Are they still limiting you to the $35 entree maximum? Or have they now made it comparable to the dining package? Specifically Breakaway. Thanks!
  10. Guess everyone wanted to sail with you! You started a booking frenzy. LOL
  11. Some earlier posts in this thread had mentioned loading or scanning passports. When I filled it out I didn't see any place to scan or upload the passport. I only saw the place to upload the VAX card, so I was afraid I missed something. It could also make a difference if we're completing the form on the phone app or on a desktop. I don't know. I was using a desktop.
  12. Thank you. Appreciate the reply!
  13. Thanks. I did put all the passport info in manually, just didn't see a place to scan it or upload the passport. The home page shows that our passport info was put in so I guess we're good. Thanks again!
  14. Quick question. I created my account and put in info. I didn't see any place to upload my passport, just a place to fill in that I was using a passport. Did I miss something? I did see the place to upload my VAX card and did that. Thanks!
  15. We've left from NYC on the Gem in winter. With the roof closed, the courtyard area is quite comfortable and the hot tubs are usable. Enjoy!
  16. Ha Ha! Mine is the same. Shout wipes and Tide pens are your friend! He usually asks the waiter when ordering, "What will look good on this shirt?"
  17. He ended up not ordering the steak. It wasn't that we couldn't afford the $3.00, it was the principle of the thing, so I don't know if they would have waived the charge but they seemed quite emphatic that we'd incur a charge. As DH said to me, if there was another steak that was under $35 he would have gotten that, but that was the only steak on the menu. I think the prices had just been raised as he had gotten the steak there with the Latitude coupon on other cruises. I wanted to speak to the Latitude Rep to express my disappointment with the $35 restriction as the prices had just been raised and the $35 limited the menu choices and I felt that the latitudes dinner should at least match the dining package. I said that if no one expressed their opinion to him or complained that they wouldn't know there was a perceived problem. I wasn't angry or combative, I just gave him my thoughts. He said he agreed with me and had received this complaint from others and had let Corporate know about the issue. Whether or not that's true I have no idea. I just thought it was funny that when we went to Le Bistro 2 days later, there was no issue ordering anything on the menu covered by the dining plan with the Latitude coupon. In fact I ordered the Lobster which had an upcharge without any issue. I was charged the upcharge obviously. My DH teased me that I had a lot of clout since as soon as I addressed the issue it was revised as I suggested. Lol!
  18. As long as I didn't spill anything on myself I definitely re-wear my dinner clothes. I figure I don't remember what anyone else had on, so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't remember what I wore. And if they do, so what I'm clean and presentable. In addition, on NCL you're not at an assigned table so probably wouldn't run into the same people again anyway. Enjoy!
  19. We've run in to the $35 issue before and the staff inconsistency. We were on the Gem and went to La Cucina our first night and DH wanted to get the steak which was like $38 and they told him he'd be charged the extra $3.00. Really! I went to the Latitudes desk the next day and said that they really should adjust the price of the Latitude dinner as the prices had gone up and we were more limited as to what we could order. He said that there had been a change and the Latitude dinner was supposed to be the same restrictions as the meal plan (which I think is definitely fair). I mentioned that they may want to let the staff know and told him of our experience the night before. Two days later we went to Le Bistro and no issue using the coupon for any item included in the meal plan. So, within 2 days and 2 different restaurant there were 2 entirely different plans in play. Hopefully this updated version has now gone fleet wide and staff wide.
  20. Wondering if anyone has experience with this. Our 3 grown adult children are in the cabin. The FAS shore excursion credit is listed under the first guests name (it's supposed to be a per cabin credit). When the second guest tries to book a tour it will only show the discounted price for the first guest (who isn't taking a tour). Is there a way to get the discount for the second guest and/or can they do that once onboard? In a related question, if I buy an excursion with my discount (we're in a separate cabin) can I just give my ticket to the kids to use or do they check the names on the excursion ticket? Thanks for any replies, it's been awhile since we've bought excursions through the cruise line.
  21. These are all very valid points and ones the OP should definitely take into consideration. I absolutely agree that the terminal parking would make the most sense in this situation, but I know there are people who choose cheaper rates over convenience and just wanted to let the OP know that if he really preferred parking off the pier area that he could still drop his wife and scooter and luggage off. As he is someone coming in who is not familiar with Manhattan, I would also suggest parking at the terminal.
  22. Even if you park somewhere other than the terminal, you can still drive into the terminal pretty much right to the ship. You can drop off your wife, scooter and luggage and then go park your car and meet you wife back at the terminal. Good luck and enjoy!
