We were on the Getaway the week before you. I'll agree with most of what you said. Most (if not all) water based excursions were canceled, and we left Bermuda early.
And yes - there were WAY too many people for the staff to accommodate. There were lines longer than I had ever seen, and entertainment was canceled <60 minutes before showtime.
We ate at the buffet, all 3 MDRs, O Sheehans, Shanghai Noodles and La Cucina. The food was worse than it had been in the past. Most of it was cold, and very blah flavor. Add on wait times (even with reservations) of 2+ hours per meal, it makes it not the best.
What made it worse was the rudeness of a lot of guests. I felt bad for the crew. They were busting their butts trying to accommodate everyone. Their attitudes were still great despite people yelling at them.
And yes, I fully realized it was a holiday cruise. More importantly, a "bad cruise" is better than no cruise at all! I promptly booked another Christmas holiday cruise the day I got home.
