Some good info on Nachi Cocom in this thread... I didn't personally love it when I was there in October (awful frozen drinks and unremarkable food) but it was definitely quiet and peaceful. Also, you get a 4-course meal, no buffet or unlimited food. And as mentioned above, you take your own taxi (which is very simple and well organized). Trying Paradise Beach this summer for a better food/drink experience but there will definitely be kids there so you'll have to decide which factors are most important to you.

Search YouTube for videos. There are some pretty good ones that show you the beach beds close-up. Also, Paradise Beach was very responsive via e-mail when I had questions before booking a daybed if you want to go that route. Hope that helps.

Hey, I’m on that sailing. I was just on Wonder a few weeks ago for the 2nd time. Love the ship. Show reservations traditionally open up online (I prefer the website to the app) early in the month before your sailing month (so early May in this case). However, some people have recently reported being able to make reservations even earlier for some ships so just keep an eye out. You can also check the roll call… I have a general idea of how MTD works but I’ll let someone else take that one as we always choose traditional dining. Someone else will also have to help with slide & zip line advice. I can tell you no reservations are needed but we don’t do them so I couldn’t tell ya when they’re least crowded. Check the port of call forums for Roatan & Costa Maya excursion suggestions. Sorry that wasn’t more helpful. This will be my 3rd time on Wonder & we’ve been on quite a few Oasis class cruises; you just happened to ask about stuff we don’t do. If you have any other questions about the ship, feel free to ask here or in the roll call.

Captain Bob's speedboat snorkel tour... https://www.soualigadestinations.com/most-popular-tour-for-cruise-ship-visitors/ Just did this for the 2nd time last month. It has a little bit of everything. You tour the island by extremely fast and fun boat that holds about 15 people (not for those who suffer from motion sickness), make 2 snorkel stops (we saw dolphins, lots of turtles, and stingrays), make a couple beach stops, and stop offshore of Maho Beach to see the planes land. Your captain will tell you all about the island (shout out to Brett, Bob's son, but I'm sure they're all good). There is also lunch served onboard... a choice of about 5 different sandwiches on french baguettes (there was enough for people to have 2 if they wanted), lots of chips, fruit, and unlimited beer, soda, water, and rum. *Lunch used to be served at a great little bar/restaurant that was sadly destroyed by Hurricane Irma shortly after we were there. I enjoyed the sandwiches but I miss the restaurant and its freshly grilled food.

We've never even eaten at Chops but GT has always been our favorite specialty dinner and I've heard this same opinion from countless people over the years. I also enjoy being able to get a good pasta dish along with my filet.

Given all the issues reported, I think that's more likely to be a glitch than a change. I'd wait to see what people experience when the app isn't acting up so much.

You can just grab check-in times using the app and fill out everything else later so you don't actually need anything at 45 days.

In recent months, some (like you) have reported entertainment showing up 2 months before you cruise month. For a very long time it was almost always early in the month before your sail month. So I agree, might as well check earlier if it's important to you. Only takes a couple minutes.

Caveat: This is from 2017 so things could easily be different now, We really enjoyed Nohoch Kay... https://elgrannohochkaybigfish.com/ It was smaller and looked a bit rough around the edges but the service, food, and drinks were all excellent. It was small enough that I got to chatting with a manager about this and that and he asked what kind of food I like. Somehow we settled on shrimp and he said he'd have the chef make me something off the menu. I wound up with a simple garlic shrimp over rice dish but it was excellent. There was also a dog who seemed to live there at the time. I think he was asleep in the sand under my lounger for at least 90 minutes, lol. Just throwing it out there. I've read many good things about Maya Chan. We actually looked into going there first but this was a last minute cruise and it was sold out. That's how we wound up at Nohoch Kay. I would happily go back but every time we call on Costa Maya it's a shortened port stop and we've only been there til 2pm. Having to leave that early makes it unappealing to us.

We really do have a lot of similarities. 😁

Did you happen to book through a large big box retailer? Some sites/stores with travel offers do not participate in RoyalUp.

Website and app are having issues today for many. They'll get it fixed... eventually.
