  1. Everyone is different. I get enough quiet dinners at home. I love the noise, the singing and the parading. I guess I’m weird lol.
  2. I am loving this as I plan to be on Freedom next year. I hope early dining remains 5:45 - 6:00.
  3. I wish! No animals at all on an 8 night cruise on the Jewel in March. One night we got a teeny little boat and one night something I couldn’t begin to guess what it was.
  4. We have never been asked by anyone to give a 10, just to please complete the survey.
  5. I recall someone on here a while ago saying they had checked in later than usual, got to their cabin and found another couple happily getting themselves settled in. Not nefarious or a prank, just mistakenly going to the wrong cabin.
  6. We did it once and never again. My husband’s sister accused us of spending more time with my side of the family and wouldn’t talk to us for the rest of the cruise. My poor mother-in-law was stuck in the middle.
  7. I wasn’t sure what it was called but I was assured it would fall off the bone. I agree that it was awful.
  8. I agree with the pecan crusted salmon. Not mentioned were the asparagus appetizer, the beef bourguignon, and the crème brûlée which I found excellent. The meat, not so much. Our prime rib came out raw, which they fixed but the quality was not great. The leg of lamb came on a huge bone that kept rolling around when you tried to cut it. The only option was to try it Fred Flintstone style, which I did not attempt.
  9. Grew up on Long Island and where we lived it was always the boys that rode their bikes behind those dastardly trucks. We girls wouldn’t go near them!
  10. Check both the planner and the app for prices. In March on the Jewel, the planner had a discounted price but not the app.
  11. Well, I guess that is old-fashioned now, my mother-in-law always called it red gravy or brown gravy. In-law’s parents came to Brooklyn from Calabria.
  12. If you marry an Italian, you quickly find out there is red gravy and there is brown gravy!
  13. We asked the first day for ice and got it automatically every day when he came to service the cabin. This was on Jewel.
  14. I agree that the spinach and artichoke dip was very good. The mushroom risotto not so much.
  15. I must be very easy to please because I only found two things I didn’t like. The prime rib in the MDR and the panna cotta in Giovanni’s.
  16. My sister was in 1044 on Jewel a couple of weeks ago and only heard the thumping of probably a treadmill a couple of times. Didn’t bother her at all.
  17. That’s what they did on Jewel 8 night last week.
  18. We were on Jewel last week and did tours of both St. Maarten and St. Croix. There are people living in houses where Irma had blown the roofs off. They can’t afford to fix them. There is so much destruction. Very sad.
  19. If the rooms are adjacent or across the hall from each other, the 17-year-old should be able to stay alone. My grandchildren, 15, 14 and 12, were able to stay alone across the hall from their parents. They did book it through a travel agent however.
