  1. Glad to hear the hot tub situation is better than it sounded - we sail next week, no hot tub letter yet. Can anyone say who is the current concierge on the Viva? Thanks
  2. Looking forward to your review as we sail on Viva this coming February as well. Liked your cabin numbers breakdown - interesting as one of the comments I read previously stated the Prima/Viva Havens had “so many more cabins than the larger BA ships” And that does not appear to be the case as the Escape Haven has around 98 cabins. You sail in a variety of cabin types on various ships - what cabin are you sailing in for this Viva cruise? Your commentary and observations are always interesting. Happy cruising 😎
  3. Currently booked on the Caribbean 7 day Viva out of San Juan - it was originally on my short list also - right up until we booked it! Itinerary looks great😎
  4. Literally laughed out loud at your Halloween posts! Too funny 😁 Your captain Barbie costume is amazing - agree the Ariel gang was impressive too. Really enjoying reading your live posts - vey entertaining! Our Halloween was so lame compared to yours - below freezing temps and only only 4 brave trick or treaters🤨 Thanks for sharing with us poor unfortunate souls currently not on a cruise ship 💕😎
  5. Wish I was on my way to Alaska! Will just have to enjoy your pictures instead😊 I lurk on the NCL boards and read posts & commentary very regularly- enjoy all the good information. I am an NCL cruiser - tend to have brand loyalty when we travel - like airlines & hotels. But I am curious as to what you mean by “guests” in regards to passengers. I assume rookies are first time cruisers? Have learned a lot of cruise vernacular over the last seven years - but “guests” is new to me😬 Thanks - enjoy your cruise😎
  6. Awesome! Thanks Hope to see some live stuff soon😊
  7. I’m sure I’ve missed this somewhere- but when exactly is the first cruise? I know it’s changed several times. We are booked in February out of San Juan Just wondering when we might start seeing live reviews 😎
  8. Wow - what a story! Your cruise sounded lovely but definitely ended not so lovely at the airport;( Laughed out loud at the fish swimming upstream metaphor😬 Enjoy your writing style - have read some of your previous reviews and it’s like reading an entertaining short story. Glad your luggage was recovered - you might have had to claim a high monetary loss for your art “masterpiece”😊 Thanks for sharing your adventures 😎
  9. Your pictures are great! Looks like you’re having an amazing time! Getting turned around and a little lost is definitely part of the Prima adventure 🙄 How are you liking your two bedroom villa?
  10. Not a member of the tribe, but following as well! Really enjoyed your previous live review - your sister’s outfits were sooo entertaining;) As was your story;) A little background- I was on the Feb 5-12 Prima sailing in an H5. DH and adult son made three of us. Son was a later addition so he got the couch. I was the intrepid rule breaker who gave Sid an impromptu Haven tour when NCL initially put him off;( Sid is a great guy and I discovered a new favorite libation at the outdoor bar when we ended the double top secret tour with a drink! A Smokey Dragon - no real liquid smoke - but tasty and made with dragon fruit! They only prepared it at the outdoor bar - something fun to try if you’re feeling adventurous! Have to say - the outdoor bar and the haven elevators were my two favorite new things on the Prima! And of course the dragon drink😎 We had a great time and even booked the Viva next Feb out of San Juan! Our son wants to join us again so we booked the H6. Would enjoy reading your thoughts about the cabin. I liked the H5 - was roomy with a nice balcony. But two bedrooms I think will be better. Have a wonderful cruise - the ship is fun to explore - and yes - you will get turned around at times😏 Will follow your adventures! I even read Sid’s posts while we were on board- gave my ideas about places to explore and an appreciation of the interesting architecture;) Happy sailing 🏝️
  11. Good to know - thanks! Glad to hear about smooth traffic. Will make sure we have towels on the sun deck😎
  12. Thanks for a great review! Very organized and informative- enjoyed your objective comments! We are staying in the Prima Haven first week of February with our adult son and your review was very helpful- will definitely listen for the loud person when we get to the pier! One question I did have - even though your debarkation was smooth, did you encounter any undo traffic trying to leave the port area? We are flying out of Orlando and making plans for transport. Thanks again for an enjoyable read!
  13. Wow - eight sea days! Glad it seemed to work out well for you! We are sailing on the Prima in February and I too am reading everything I can find. I enjoyed reading about your thoughts and observations- made me smile. You were positive about what you liked and your quirks were measured and reasonable. I will definitely scope out the fresh afternoon cookies in the observation lounge;) Thanks for sharing😎
  14. @Sthrngary Agree - let it go! The email guy sounds a little like the PaulBrowning character who posted the false information in response to my query about Haven boarding @ Fort Canaveral. Some people just don’t possess a good frame of mind;(
  15. @rbxlady Thanks for the info - good to know that it’s apparently not as easy as it used to be! We will plan to be vocal and head to the back left of the terminal - and watch for haven signs! Don’t want to lose any cookie time 😏
  16. Speaking of Port Canaveral Haven boarding, is there a separate line/security line for haven passengers? I saw a you tube video from 2020 of a separate haven security line/checkin that was up an escalator to the right at the terminal entrance. Couldn’t find any other more recent info. My search skills are not stellar;( I did try! We are sailing on the Prima in Feb out of Canaveral and wondering if anyone had more recent experience or info. Thanks in advance 😎
  17. Your excitement/anticipation is contagious! Can’t wait to hear all about it as we have a cruise booked on the Prima in February. Happy sailing!
  18. Reviews of the Prima thus far have been varied. Have a Prima cruise booked in February. Interested in your thoughts/ perceptions. Hearing and learning about new shiny objects is always fun. And your reviews have historically been very thorough. Happy Sailing!
  19. Hi @dexddd Thanks for posting - new ship with what I’m sure will lots of questions from all of us future passengers😎 The switches in the room sound a little interesting - a bit of a learning curve. We will be sailing in an H5 in February- so very curious and excited. How do the dedicated haven elevators work? I read they go to deck 6, assuming key card access? I believe the minimalist decor will be a good fit in what appears to be a much larger haven space with more cabins/people occupying that space. Looking forward to your thoughts and pictures. Really hope you enjoy your suite life😊
  20. I will paste my previous response so you can read the info on the NCL site - it explains the package Actually the best way to read the particulars on the FASUP package is to click the terms & conditions link on the home NCL page - the link appears at the bottom of the current offers. The FASUP info is about in the middle of the list right after the dining program. We just added it to our Feb Prima cruise. As others have said - it’s not a deal for everyone. The cost worked for us because the shore excursions credit and the Wi-Fi upgrade. Hope this helps - I too spent a while searching for info!

  22. So when I first read this post - I double checked our cruise invoices. Originally booked a cruise for DH and myself on Prima 2/2023 - made reservation/paid deposit last April. In June - our adult son decided to join us to see if cruises were as much fun as we as we always said they were. Added him as third guest in our room under free 3/4 guest promo. Revised invoice reflected no increase in base fares for DH and myself. Only charges for son are port taxes/fees and grats on drink package - amounts are identical to what DH & I were charged. Son’s base fare is listed as zero. But as stated in previous post - NCL will still benefit from son’s presence as there will be additional internet/specialty dining package/excursions charges to be added around final payment. Booked through our PCC and I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. Not zero dollars for our son - but significantly less than our total fares. Plus - his joining us is absolutely worth the price of a few perks😎
