  1. Hank, I think that you and DrewB8 are in violent agreement, not disagreement, unless I'm misunderstanding his post.
  2. this is pre-Covid, but we wrote in items we wanted every time we ordered room service breakfast and they were always accommodated. That said, we never ordered anything complicated like Eggs Benedict or the lamb chops...didn't want to push our luck or cause them aggravation. I don't think boiled eggs, for example, were on the standard room service card, but I generally got two hard-boiled eggs as part of the order in the morning.
  3. This is my husband's go-to breakfast any time we have the time to eat in the Restaurant for breakfast. We love room service for early port days - we've found that they don't limit us to the room service breakfast menu. We usually write in whatever we want, and at least pre-Covid, everything always came on time and piping hot.
  4. Clay, thanks for taking the time to do these posts and share all of your adventures with us. I've loved reading it, and your photos in particular from House without a Key bring back really special memories of our 30th anniversary, which we spent there with new friends who are now dear friends, who were celebrating their 20th. The trio was different, but we also had the treat of a hula dance by Brook Lee. All in, a really special evening. So glad you and Mike got to experience it, and end your Hawaii sojourn on such a high note in Kauai. Hope your return voyage is relaxing and uneventful!
  5. I have to second Aquahound on Royal Caribbean for this particular group. We've sailed in Alaska with other lines over the years, and if the priority is a wide variety of entertainment for various ages, I don't think anyone comes close to them.
  6. Love these! The birthday shirts are so fun, and the purple top is gorgeous. Any pics of what you wore it with on the cruise?
  7. Super envious of your drink with Peter O'Toole! That must have been special
  8. Wow, did you post about that? If so, I completely missed it. What was it like? I can't even imagine it.
  9. We stayed in the Douglas area. The Manx museum is there, which is good for several hours. (Viking history and artifacts, and Isle of Man history.) There's a park-type area that I think has an official name, but everyone calls it the Fairy Glen. It's great to walk through - they decorate it for the Christmas holiday with different lights, etc., if you happen to be there at that time of year. There's a cemetery, really old, within walking distance of the main downtown area. And several nature-type walks. My husband used to ride - not professionally! - and has always been very interested in the TT, so we did a lot of things related to that...walked all through the paddock area, walked some of the route, stopped in one of the main TT pub/bar/restaurant places, etc. We had no trouble at all filling up our few days. Would go back in a heartbeat if the opportunity arises.
  10. I would be disappointed to miss Belfast, but fwiw, The Isle of Man is one of our favorite places we've visited. We flew in from London several years ago - an experience in itself - and spent 4 days there. We walked all over, drank in the pubs with the locals, had great food, and just an overall amazing time.
  11. This bottom photograph is amazing. It looks like a professional painting! If you haven't already, you should turn this into a holiday card.
  12. Thanks for posting this link! Lots of great info.
  13. Nice drawing, Clay! I'm sure you're never fully satisfied with an end result, but this is really nice to look at. I agree on the Whitepass Railway. Sorry people didn't get to experience it; it was a highlight of our visit when we were in Skagway several years ago. Thanks for posting the pictures, too, in spite of the tricky internet.
  14. Congratulations! Some of these local fair competitions can be fierce. Nice 1st place ribbon.
  15. Great pictures! Especially the one at the top - you both look fabulous.
  16. That would be perfect. We've visited a passport health office once, and a travel clinic a few times, depending on which one was most convenient to where we were living at the time. Enjoy the trip, and the planning, which is always half the fun!
  17. It would be a good idea to visit a Travel Clinic. Based on your itinerary and time of year, they can advise the required and recommended vaccinations.
  18. Thanks for doing the CC updates, in addition to Instagram, Clay. Really looking forward to hearing how it goes. Good luck with the travel!
  19. While we've consistently had above-and-beyond service on our Viking cruises from every one of the crew members, one example that jumps to mind is from our In the Wake of the Vikings cruise. We had surprisingly wonderful weather almost every day, including two days of sun in Bergen. Our day in the Faroe Islands was cool and drizzly. After a long day of touring out in the elements, my husband's shoes were a muddy mess. He set them aside in the bathroom on a plastic bag to deal with after dinner. When we got back to the cabin about five hours later, after dinner, the show in the Star Theatre, and a little time in Explorers, our cabin steward had removed the shoes, cleaned them thoroughly, replaced a slightly frayed lace, and rubbed them with leather protector. Amazingly thoughtful, but not that unusual in our experience on Viking.
  20. To help prioritize your searches, take a look at Viking, Oceania, and Azamara. Lots of inclusives, much less nickel-and-diming.
