  1. I do not understand why or what PVSA is? Seems stupid to me
  2. Thanks. Looks like I may not be interested in this. Probably a day room would be better before a redeye. Or maybe flying to a US city early afternoon and doing an overnight
  3. parksleepfly.com, parksleephotels.com, buyreservations.com....I tried to look some up but need dates. Years ago we used a Sheraton near JFK and left our car there. Worked out well
  4. Does YVR have a lounge for extended stay before a flight to the US? I am assuming there would be a fee incurred. Thanks
  5. I could swear I signed my son up when he cruised at 4 years old. He is 28 now. I should check on that. But we were on RCCL
  6. That's what I was afraid of. If we do the excursion that leaves at 2p, it will be 530p before it is over. So we will miss the town as all will be closed.
  7. You mentioned Feb for a cruise. Check your dates. Prices can be very high if around Presidents weekend/week. Usually schools have a break and you may find more kids. Airfare and hotels are usually more expensive.
  8. How late are the shops open in ISP? We are docked 130p to 1030p.
  9. Since this was doctors orders, was your cruise covered by insurance? LOL. Have a wonderful cruise!!!!
  10. Thanks everyone. Think we will stick to the Marriott Pinnacle. Both the Met and the Pinnacle seem pretty comparable. I tend to over think everything!!!!
  11. Thanks everyone. What hotel would you suggest in a more touristy location? It has to be a Marriott property and near Canada Place. Just wondering. (After a long flight and depending on arrival time, we might be just as comfortable having a cocktail and meal right at the hotel and hitting the sack)
  12. OK, so I really wanted to stay at the Westin Bayshore. However was not to be and I have ended up with Marriott Pinnacle. Not worried about the hotel as Marriott's are wonderful. How is the area? Will it be walkable, with luggage, to Canada Place. Without listening to my husband complaining!!!!
  13. Totally unacceptable in so many ways
  14. Try going on Tripadvisor and look up things to do in Hoonah. Maybe you will see some information that will ring a bell!!!!
  15. I am trying to wrap my head around this scenerio. When was your planned flight scheduled for? From RDU? When was the cruise leaving? This only affected your outbound flight so your return flight on United could have remained intact, correct? Sounds to me like United didn't go above and beyond to secure you on another airline or from another departure point. I am not pointing fingers, I am just curious. I am a former travel agent and things like this intrigue me. I am thinking that maybe departing from Charlotte or Washington DC could have been explored. Probably would have included renting a one way car but at least you could make the ship departure. How were you getting from ANC to the ship, which I assume was either Whittier or Seward for a southbound cruise? Was there a land portion prior to the cruise? If you care to share, I am curious.....thanks, Kaye
  16. Could you have driven somewhere to catch another flight? Could you rebook on another airline? Even with a 3 day buffer, it is a holiday weekend and I understand the Canadian smoke has returned. I have a friend who couldn't make it from Seattle to NY due to cancellations and is missing a family reunion.
  17. So thinking about flying into Calgary and doing the Mountaineer train one way between Lake Louise and Vancouver before or after the cruise. Just trying to get a handle on the logistics as far as time needed, cost and how doable it would be. I think it would be an amazing add on to a cruise but I might have to rob a bank to do it...LOL
  18. Ok, now you have me thinking. How can I look at the logistics for visiting Banff and Lake Louise before or after an Alaskan cruise from Vancouver? Cost? Time for travel?
  19. Opps, I think I copied this twice. My question ...Is Korea a safe place to visit? Meaning South Korea, of course. Thanks
  20. My first SV will be Alaska 2024. I am so excited!!!
  21. I carry Cold Brew tea bags with me. They will brew tea in cold water. You can add lemon or sugar, if desired.
