  1. We have been in the Ba,boo Room in several occasions and it is not loud. We really like this bar, since it is new it has never been busy when we were thre.
  2. We sailed Liberty severl times out of Galveston and love the ship. No a larger class but still nice. Great Kid's club area and enjoyed the on board intertainment. We really liked the nightly Pud music and went there most nights.
  3. We did this also. Since things can change a TA friend of ours suggested we purchase all of them in our name and then you can transfer them to someone else. That way if something happens you always have the FCC for yourselft if something happens and your guest can't go. you could always keep the FCC for your own use. Works great. A reminder you only get the discount if you reserver within two months of the date of the FCC purchase on the ship.
  4. Yes, if you have enought credits you can dine with a ships officer but no more Captains Table on on of the ships we have sailed on in the last few years.
  5. We thought of another one. We are also D+ and will be on the 12/5 cruise. This has more to do with transportation. If you are driving and getting in early due to your status, park on the outside rows in the parking lot and consider exit traffic. Lots of locals on this ship and they all park as close as possible on arrival. However on departure they all leave at the same time and the drive out can be a challenge. A small walk on the enbarcation day can save you a lot of car time on the debarcation day.
  6. You don't have to ask but if you want to save your drinks for higher priced evening drinks and not use one for a beer in the afternoon you can tell the bartender at the time you order not to credit it against you comp drinks and instead pay for it and save a few bucks if you are going to go over the allowed limit.
  7. We would agree with others. We have been on almost every class and our first cruise on Oasis we worried about the size and number of people. We have now sailed Allure a few times and we really like this class. I am always amazed at how they have organized the ship and all the areas that it actually feels smaller than some of the smaller classes. This is our favorite class.
  8. If your on Allure out of Galveston it should not be bad. That ship has a great Kids Club program that our daughter has used when ever we sail on Allure and most everyone parks the kids in the program for the day and so they spend most of the day in the Kids club program or in the seperate kids splash area pool.
  9. We still buy the package, kind of a push depending on what kind of drinks you have. We also buy the dinner package and like to have a bottle of wine and the discound is pretty good with the package. Even though it may not same much if any I also like not getting a bill at the end of the cruise and knowing I have already paid for everything when I get on the ship.
  10. We buy the package, It will ask for a perfered time for the first night usually 6 or 8. They hold the mid times up for full paying guest. Once you get on board go to any of the specialy resturants and tell them you want to make reservations and you have the package. They can call up your stateroom and you can change both the first night time and location and all others for the cruise. That is usually one of our first stops when we get on board, after the bar, and have usually not had any of our times or resturants confirmed. Depending on the ship might have to move your prefered time a half hour or so but it is not a problem.
  11. We have had a couple of these and we did not get the confirmation until a week or two be for sailing. The purpose of this program is to move people up and sell more popular lower cabins that are filling up. So they will wait until the last minute to see if the suite cabins actual book at full price before they move someone up at these discounts so they can sell the lower level cabin at full price. it is really a great strategy by Royal to max full paying passengers. Airlines use to do the same thing but without the bid process. If the cabin was full and first class was not they could move someone from couch to first class and make them happen, fill a seat that was going to be empty and they resell the coach seat. Good luck but it will be close to sailing before you get the notification.
  12. True but we have been to Ensenada four times ine last year and both of thest lines have docked in the same position. Its a very small harbor and while they could reverse we have not seen it, will be back in three weeks and will see what happens.
  13. Yeah I knew that was not the real name but could not remember it. I got the recipie on line from RCCL, one of the ingreaients was a limongrass liqueur from England that I could not find in the states and cost a lot to ship over. Used a sub and still good but not as good as when you are having it on a ship in the middle of the caribbean.
  14. When we were on Allure they showed it on the large screens at the stadium pool.
  15. We have been a Cheft's Table a couple of times and loved the food and the conversation with others. I would recommend it for a special event. My daughter is truning 50 next year and we are having a family friends cruise on Allue and plan on a Cheft's Table night. I do agree that the folks at this event are always friendly, the converations is great and we have worked it into our future cruises. On Allure I might still like the food at 150 better but part of this dinner is the presentation and fun time.
  16. Agree with many, 150 Centreal Park is amazing. From the salt tasing to the different courses. If you are a big meat or steak person may not be your best choice and might want to stay with Chops. The Cucumber Martini is the best ever. We have eaten in a lot of shore based high in resturants and for a ship this one comes very close. Would also recommend Chief's Table if you want to make it a special cruise. We love that experience as well.
  17. Depending on which cabin class you are in the RCCL ship docks with port toward town and I believe Carnival has starbord toward shore so you see the dock and if your a people watcher, or sea lion watcher as a group of them are usually to the front of the RCCL ship on the shore.
  18. Yeah, we love the Radiance call, so many great views. This is the ship that sold us on the Champaign Bar. Enjoy your cruise.
  19. Sorry my mistake. We sailed on Radiance a couple of weeks prior to Radiance out of LA and got them mixed up. We love Radiance, sailed on her when she first came out and the views are unlike any other class.
  20. My mistake, we were on Navigator a couple of weeks prior to sailing on Radiance out of LA and go confused. Great Scooner Bar on Radiance, we loved the ship.
  21. Depending on the ages of the family members a slot pull could be fun. We have done those a couple of times with a group from here but think a family slot pull could be fun on a sea day.
  22. We love Kid's club for our grandson. We sail with his mom, he is 8 now has been on three cruises. I don't think they will make an exception on the age levels at kids club but you can always ask if they are brothers they might. We have taken our grandson off alone, as long as he has his sea pass and id it is not a problem.
  23. When Royal used to dock at the old location in Jamaica. Longer pier and party port, besided the over served guest they also had the drug sniffing dogs checking guest on the pier. Saw some interesting events at that location back in the day. Seems to me that people have gotten a little more controled now, don't see as many of them but still hear the announements on board of a few prior to every departure.
  24. We have sailed most of the RCCL class ships and for a large ship with a lot of people these ships are designed in a way to make them seem smaller. We were shocked the first time we were on Oasis that it did not seem as crowded as we expecter or some of the smaller classes we have sailed. Enjoy your cruise will be interested in your opinon when you get back.
