No, but the original Love Boat did not claim to be real life.

In the distant past (like 5-7 years ago) baked Alaska was a standard last night dessert, along with the parade and napkin twirling. The last night used to be American night with meatloaf and other regional dishes. The wait staff wore red white and blue uniforms. This happened on every ship I was on regardless of itinerary.

Not strictly on topic, but the Diamond is such a pretty ship. 🙂

Thanks for the CC updates. I could go for some lamb skewers! I'm starting to look forward to my first CC experience next month. I guess we'll see what they serve on that voyage.

Just take your chances and book the restaurants. What you will get at Crown Grill will be better than whatever is served that night in the MDR anyway.

My usual lines I rank thus: 1 Carnival 2 HAL 3 Princess It's just one item, but I base this mostly on the burgers. Guy's is the best anywhere, IMO. Dive In is a close second. Princess is inedible, IMO. I find the food elsewhere on the ship falls into the same pattern (except that there is some good food on Princess from time to time.)

The cake is not very good, IMO. We stopped telling them about celebrations years ago just to avoid that cake.

It might sound like I'm splitting hairs here, but what's required here is an app. The app does not have to be accessed only by a cell phone. Our friend says she uses her Ipad. I assume there is also an android application for other devices like that. Some of the problem inexperienced users are having is trying to do everything on a tiny cell phone screen. I don't think everyone understands that apps can work on other mobile devices that might be easier to navigate. "Phone app" is sometimes a misleading term. Of course, Princess has now provided a web site for those who can't handle the phone app. I also see that Australia is saying the app is the only way at this time. Who knows what the future will bring?
