  1. The last couple cruises I had check in staff calling out "everyone has their own boarding pass and ID". I'm the keeper of ALL DOCUMENTS so I gave them up right before we walked into the terminal.😲
  2. My DH, 2 DDs (20 & 22) and I sailed on Elation over Thanksgiving and had a blast! MDR all the time and our wait staff was awesome! Serenity was peaceful and Alchemy Bar was easy to access. Room stewards were great. Paradise sounds comparable so I hope you have as much fun as we did!
  3. DH and I are in a Spa Interior on Magic and these are the benefits (don't know if your ships have a Hydrotherapy Pool): Amenities exclusive to Cloud 9 Spa™ staterooms and suites: Unique welcome ritual Priority spa reservations Unlimited use of Thermal Suites, plus scrub kit Unlimited use of Hydrotherapy Pool Two complimentary fitness classes (per guest) Complimentary body composition analysis Exclusive discounts on treatments during port days Cloud 9 Spa bathrobes and slippers Upgraded ELEMIS in-stateroom toiletries
  4. According to the article: "As Chief Culinary Officer, Lagasse will support Carnival’s skilled chefs with guidance on food trends and techniques as well as advise on future menu items and dining concepts. Guests will also see his input on the menus of main dining rooms fleetwide, including entrées designated as “Emeril recommends” picks." So hopefully we will see some BAM in the MDR😄!
  5. This sounds like a scene from "Planes, Trains & Automobiles". So far, it sounds like you'll get your wife's passport...sending positive thoughts!
  6. That's where we stayed when we took the DDs to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas! They were so little (6 and 8) and loved it!
  7. Now I wish I would have taken a ride on Bolt when I was on MG! Thanks for posting!
  8. I saw that you started a thread on Emeril, then poof it was gone. Do you know why? Odd.
  9. I have canceled excursions while on board (my mom had stomach issues) and been refunded to my Sign and Sail account. Cheers I think you need to cancel before you embark. Pretty much everything (restaurants, spa, etc) that you pay for ahead of time should be refunded to you if you don't make your cruise in the way that you initially paid for it. Since I use Carnival gift cards for almost all my Carnival purchases, I would be refunded in gift cards. That would be bad if I never wanted to sail with Carnival again, but since I have 5 cruises in my Cruise Manager I will just apply the gift cards to those future cruises. I hope you and your DH get to go on your cruise!!
  10. Correct! I paid off my January cruise with a couple Carnival gift cards on my Cruise Manager.
  11. I've run the drink calculator a couple times (just for fun😅) and it wins for me with a special coffee, 3 wines (I usually have champagne or mimosas, then a glass of wine with dinner) 3 cocktail drinks (serenity or Alchemy) and 2 bottles of water per day. If I take out either a wine or cocktail then Cheers is more expensive by a dollar. Like you said, if hubby is on the cruise, it's always a win for Cheers!😉
  12. FYI, you can buy gift cards at AllState Insurance. You don't have to have your insurance through them, just accrue points through other CC members who post the codes. 10,000 points will buy a $1,000 gift card for $900. Check out this thread for more info and codes (last page has a recent code posted). Have a great cruise!!
  13. Me too! On MG, I was with my mom so I had the Guy's server slice the burger in half. It was the perfect lunch for us👍
  14. It's been a while since I have sailed on an 8 day cruise. Elegant night on the second night, correct? Then is there another Elegant night on the seventh night? Thanks in advance😃
  15. I agree, Guy's burgers vary in quality from ship to ship. Intrepid, did you try a Guy's burger on Mardi Gras? I thought that burger was the best Guy's burger. I only ate one since I wanted to try as many venues as humanly possible.😄
  16. Will those ships be able to sail under the bridge at Jacksonville? We were on Elation over Thanksgiving and it looked like the whale tail was almost scraping the bridge. Just kidding, but it did look close.
  17. I think it tastes better because I'm drinking it on my balcony😄
  18. As soon as I embarked on Elation, I went to the Guest Adventures desk across from Guest Services. Make sure you know your cabin number so you can tell them. I selected my cabana then, told them what we wanted for sodas and shoe sizes for my party for snorkel fins. We loved cabana #10! Close to bathroom, bar and a cove in front of it that was teeming with colorful fish. Towels are provided. Lunch was a 5-10 minute walk away. A tram will take you to your cabana from the tender port and a tram will pick you up to go back at the end of your day. Bring cash to tip out cabana person and tram driver if you wish. Have a great cruise!!
