  1. Oh dear. Sailing Beyond in SV 11293 soon. I had hoped the Sunset Verandas were not experiencing the banging noise issues.
  2. Free embarkation day lunch options on Equinox (in a non Concierge Class cabin) are the Oceanview Cafe (Buffet) or the Mast Grill (hamburgers and hot dogs etc.) If you don’t mind a charge Sushi on 5 is often open. If you haven’t sailed Celebrity ever or lately you now go directly to your cabin on embarkation day to collect your Sea Pass card and can drop off your carryon bags. This has the advantage of reducing the congestion at the Buffet since everyone and their brother and all their hand luggage are no longer parked there waiting for the announcement that the cabins are open.
  3. My point is since all cruise lines follow the same “rules” re only awarding points for cruises one actually took, you will not just be avoiding Celebrity, you won’t be cruising any cruise line. I certainly am sorry you had such a devastating accident. Best wishes for a complete recovery.
  4. Are other cruise lines willing to award points for canceled cruises? I wasn’t aware that any were.
  5. I had understood that during the divorce process she would want to be more private in terms of public social media…but I was assuming (hoping) that one day in the future we’d once again be able to enjoy her trip reports, her drone videos etc…. So I really miss her posts.
  6. FB and M stopped working for me at 10:30 EST. FB is back…M is not. I need M to stay in touch with my pet sitter when I’m away. But I’m currently at home being a Cat Valet…
  7. Under the bed?! On Celebrity under the bed is a basket with life jackets, a bag of the emptied fridge contents, two large suitcases, one carryon and often a bag of linens for turnaround day.
  8. Are you referring to Cafe al Bacio? All the food in the cases there is free.
  9. Going strictly by threads on CC, Beyond gets the most mentions re noise. Don’t know if that really means the other E Class ships have less of a problem…or it’s just not reported as much. Beyond is larger and carries more passengers than Edge or Apex. Was something changed in the design of the larger ship? I don’t know.
  10. For whatever reason, Beyond seems to have more cabin noise issues than Edge.
  11. Well, it’s true I’ve never sailed on Ascent, but I’m Elite Plus on Celebrity and these juices have always been available at one of the islands. I’m sorry you were misinformed. Just look around at the islands; the carafes are out on the counter.
  12. Hey, heads up…ask an attendant at one of the islands at the OVC…there is tomato juice, prune juice, pineapple juice etc in carafes for free. These juices are not in the beverage bay areas. The locations tend to vary ship to ship…sometimes the yogurt/cereal island…sometimes the fruit island…but these extra juices are available!
  13. Whenever I read a reply like this I repost this video.
  14. I, too, had read reports of the banging and creaking on Beyond. I did not discount these reports…but hoped to be lucky and have one of the unaffected cabins. Alas, I had the crazy noises in cabin 7161. At that time (November 2022) I said I wouldn’t sail Beyond or her younger sister ships again. I sailed on Apex and Edge and did not have the noise issues. I am giving Beyond one more try (🤞🤞) in a Sunset Veranda…accompanied by my ear plugs, white noise machine and headphones if necessary.
  15. The black square or the triangle refer to cabins that sleep three or four. Those cabins always have the bed by the bathroom. The cabins do alternate although not every cabin that has the bed by the bathroom sleeps extra guests. What you do is locate the closest cabin to you that has the black icon and count backwards or forwards to your cabin. If you were next door to a black iconed cabin you have the bed by the balcony. Two cabins away from the black icon will be bed by bathroom.
  16. If you are referring to post #3, that was referencing cigar and pipe smoking on a Solstice Class ship. On that class of ship cigar smoking is only allowed at the Sunset Bar. My question was relating to Constellation, a Millennium Class ship.
  17. Reading this thread I’m unclear where cigar smoking is allowed on the Constellation. Anyone in the know? Not cigarettes…but cigars.
  18. On S Class the Mast Bar is starboard side. All other information is correct. Of note, the only place cigar smoking is allowed is port side of the Sunset Bar.
  19. Not to discount anyone else’s experience but I will just state again that Special Needs at Sea will not rent you a scooter that will not fit in your cabin as they deliver and leave the scooter in your cabin. I rented a scooter from them that easily fit in a non accessible cabin on Celebrity Equinox.
  20. I rented a scooter from Special Needs at Sea in January 2020 for a cruise on Celebrity Equinox in a regular, not an accessible, balcony cabin. It was a B2B and the scooter fit both in a cabin with bed by balcony and one with bed by bathroom. Special Needs will ask the cabin you have booked and will not let you rent one that wouldn’t fit as they deliver them to your cabin. I was very impressed with the service and the price. I would suggest bringing a small door wedge to keep the cabin door open when entering or exiting if you are by yourself. And I had never operated one before and I had no problem. Granted I am in my 60’s. Your fellow passengers finding you invisible in front of elevators is entirely another issue…😡
  21. I too learned one needs to familiarize themselves with hotel ratings. A land hotel can be a 2.5 star and another a 3 star simply because the latter has an onsite restaurant or conference rooms. Nothing pertaining to room amenities or age…
  22. The “exclusive” menu items are available at any of the four MDRs. You can be at Cosmopolitan and have an appetizer from Cyprus, an entree from Normandie and dessert from Tuscan…
  23. When we got home yesterday afternoon from our Reflection cruise, we found Martha had washed all the linens from the bed the cats had an accident on after locking themselves accidentally in the guest bedroom! I hate to think of all the extra time and effort she went to. Unbelievably she had folded the fitted sheet into the perfect rectangle shape it comes in when you first buy one. We all know this is a domestic impossibility…unless you are Martha Stewart! Wait…I think I see a connection…😁
