A few nights ago I must have scratched myself in my sleep. Woke up with a red raised sore spot. Unfortunately on my chest just where my bra would rub against it. So I put a bandage on it. That night when removing the bandage I find the skin on my chest/upper tummy is evidently sensitive to the adhesive of the bandage. Sigh. Now I have irritated red splotches surrounding the red sore. Called my PA to get a referral to my dermatologist to hopefully get the original spot frozen and some soothing ointment. Then I pick up Minnie to carry her from the bathroom to the bedroom. Do this every night. But last night suddenly our neighbor’s alarm system goes off. Poor Minnie is startled/frightened and catapults herself off my chest. I know she didn’t mean to hurt me but she deployed her claws to get maximum thrust. So now my chest and both arms are shredded. And I know I can’t put a bandage on my chest. So George has to swab me down with alcohol and put gauze pads and surgical tape on the slashes. This morning I find I’m sensitive to the surgical tape the same as the bandage adhesive. I now have slashes AND large red irritated areas on my abdomen. Sigh. I shower and go buy bandages for sensitive skin and am thankful I don’t earn my living as a porn star because I look like the proverbial dog’s dinner!

Currently on Silhouette very bad experience
helen haywood replied to avp1234's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I have been following your thread. I’m glad you are home and under good medical care. So sorry this happened! -
Yes, I saw that yesterday or the day before. I read the thread…and when I got to the end I realized there had not been a new reply and I was puzzled as to why it was on Page 1.

Celebrity really needs a Proof Reader

Clearly they don’t really want to… -

I quite understand. I’d want to be in my own home, too, after such an experience. I’m so very sorry this happened to you and ruined your cruise. I can only hope there are no lingering after effects. -
First time on Celebrity.. Anything I need to know.

No “formal” nights anymore. They were replaced by “Evening Chic.” Basically you may wear anything to dinner except men cannot wear shorts or sleeveless t-shirts. -
While Eden Cafe is open for lunch certain days, the other Eden you mention is a specialty restaurant that only serves dinner.

I put my two bottles of carryon wine in the fridge and put our passports and cash in the safe. Leave the carryon bag out in the cabin; no one else is entering the cabin except the steward. Leave a note for the steward to please empty the fridge and off to start utilizing the beverage package at The Sunset Bar!!!

Since this thread is specifically about sailing Equinox, and I presume out of Port Everglades, there is nowhere nearby to leave the ship and have lunch. You would need to get a taxi/Uber out of the port area…and back.

Ear plugs, white noise app…and Premium Beverage Package!

Oh dear. Sailing Beyond in SV 11293 soon. I had hoped the Sunset Verandas were not experiencing the banging noise issues.

Free embarkation day lunch options on Equinox (in a non Concierge Class cabin) are the Oceanview Cafe (Buffet) or the Mast Grill (hamburgers and hot dogs etc.) If you don’t mind a charge Sushi on 5 is often open. If you haven’t sailed Celebrity ever or lately you now go directly to your cabin on embarkation day to collect your Sea Pass card and can drop off your carryon bags. This has the advantage of reducing the congestion at the Buffet since everyone and their brother and all their hand luggage are no longer parked there waiting for the announcement that the cabins are open.

My point is since all cruise lines follow the same “rules” re only awarding points for cruises one actually took, you will not just be avoiding Celebrity, you won’t be cruising any cruise line. I certainly am sorry you had such a devastating accident. Best wishes for a complete recovery.
-
Are other cruise lines willing to award points for canceled cruises? I wasn’t aware that any were.

I will be checking under Sink and bed now
helen haywood replied to link99's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Under the bed?! On Celebrity under the bed is a basket with life jackets, a bag of the emptied fridge contents, two large suitcases, one carryon and often a bag of linens for turnaround day. -
Going strictly by threads on CC, Beyond gets the most mentions re noise. Don’t know if that really means the other E Class ships have less of a problem…or it’s just not reported as much. Beyond is larger and carries more passengers than Edge or Apex. Was something changed in the design of the larger ship? I don’t know.
-
For whatever reason, Beyond seems to have more cabin noise issues than Edge.

Live from Celebrity Ascent March 3rd-10th Caribbean sailing
helen haywood replied to catsmit's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Well, it’s true I’ve never sailed on Ascent, but I’m Elite Plus on Celebrity and these juices have always been available at one of the islands. I’m sorry you were misinformed. Just look around at the islands; the carafes are out on the counter.
