  1. Limit is per person, and only alcoholic drinks are subject to the limit.
  2. We cruise the Mardi Gras next Saturday and the earliest time slot was at 10. We chose 11 since we are driving across the state.
  3. Sorry, but no. There are ways around it if you have more than one room (i.e., you are the only adult in a cabin), but if there are two adults in one cabin, it is either two Cheers packages or none.
  4. I recommend doing valet parking at the Port of Tampa. It is very convenient. Enjoy the Paradise.
  5. I hope they would say no to eating dessert there and then taking another to go. I like the idea for a couple to split one dessert, and ask for the other to go. That seems fair, as the couple paid for two desserts.
  6. Hope he has a great cruise. We are less than two weeks away!
  7. So we are exactly two weeks out from our Mardi Gras sailing and they opened up the Loft 19 cabanas today. We grabbed our favorite, number 12, for the reduced rate of $1750 for the week, plus 18% gratuity.
  8. Agreed that Carnival now needs to enforce it. Royal has always had this curfew, and they have enforced it. Usually just take the kids back to their parents and everybody gets a lecture. Once Carnival starts enforcing it, there will be fewer late night problems with kids running through the hallways and banging on doors (at least after 1 a.m., lol). Carnival has taken quite a hit on an already low public image. At least this is a step in the right direction. Now how about they enforce some rules among the adults?
  9. I never had that issue. We have shown up at 10 and be given immediate access to Atlantis. Things changes so you can call them, but I doubt this is true. Very few cruisers would book with Comfort Suites if that were true.
  10. Fairly sure it is new. And I am so glad they did this!
  11. I don't know that you can buy a pass to Loft 19, but you could ask at the check-in desk. Rack rate for the Loft 19 cabanas were $2,000 per week, plus 18% back in May. If you want to rent a cabana by the day, it was $500 plus tip. But on our week, the cabanas were sold out the entire week. They offered them to some cruisers not in a qualifying suite about 2 weeks before our May cruise at $1,500 plus and we took it. Still pricy but in our opinion, worth it as we are not early to rise people and enjoyed having a space reserved just for us.
  12. My understanding is if you want to bring others who are not in a qualifying suite, you will need to buy a cabana, which provides up to six wristbands. They want to keep this area exclusive, quiet, and private, so I don't think you could just show up with four extra people everyday without a cabana. And you cannot pack more than six in a cabana. Someone next to us tried that, and staff quickly shut it down.
  13. Some offers can be used multiple times. For instance, we can book three Elite offers under the current promo. I would go for it!
  14. Carnival could start with a curfew for children. Royal had one and it works quite well.
  15. We have been on the MG for 14 days this year, and the only bad meal was in the MDR. Only tried it that one time then gave up. Our next MG cruise is in 20 days, and we plan to avoid the MDR. Service was terrible and the noise was overwhelming. Just not a pleasant dining experience. Contrast this to the Carnival Liberty, over the summer with plenty of kids onboard. The MDR was great, and we would have eaten there all three nights but had prepaid for hubby's birthday dinner at the Steakhouse with our three grands.
  16. Our transit crossing was our favorite cruise day ever. Since the Pride is a small ship they probably use the old locks. It is an engineering marvel that we totally enjoyed. And the lake is gorgeous.
  17. We just finished a three night stay in Old San Juan. No trolleys and very few yellow golf carts. We just walked everywhere.
  18. We ate at Barrachina tonight. Lovely restaurant and great food. But they are only open limited hours. We were turned away last night at 7:35. The kitchen was already closed. So we went at 6:30 tonight and had a short wait. When we left at 8:00, they had the doors closed.
  19. Love the CasaBlanca. In fact, we are staying here now. Got a lovely junior suite. And the location is fantastic. Easy walking distance to some wonderful restaurants and bars. just a note that this part of Forteleza is undergoing road construction so you get dropped off about one half of a block away. Luckily our room is not near the street.
  20. Sounds like a great trip. For whatever reason, I don’t get Celebrity offers, just RC and Carnival.
  21. We agree, but are probably going forward as we got a great deal and an aft balcony.
  22. Yes, has to be booked in advance.
