  1. This is our favorite restaurant on the MG. Been on MG twice and ate at Rudi's twice each cruise. And on our upcoming cruise, we have already booked two dinners at Rudi's. We liked it much better than the steakhouse on MG.
  2. OP, sorry about the latest incident. I can’t even imagine how scared your son was. I hope that person gets punished and at a minimum reassigned to a non-public facing job. Hang in there.
  3. Our favorite bar on the MG is the Brass Magnolia. We enjoy live music and the vibe of the bar.
  4. I agree Dr. E could be annoying, but back in the day of 1000s of us being crammed together for muster drills, he made it entertaining. That man can do a wicked number of voices.
  5. I would go ahead and do it if you can. My PVP told me the other day I had until final payment date, and you are well past that.
  6. We were there in June and did not see any jellyfish. With the water as clear as glass, you could see fish just walking down the pier. When we were on the tram, they were trying to sell passes to the pool. Either way, hope you have a great day in Bimini.
  7. Out of 70 or so cruises, we have had a handful of CDs that made the cruise better. Mike Pack, Chris Williams and Chloe come to mind. We have also had some terrible ones, but they are usually easy to ignore. We would not book a cruise based on the CD.
  8. wow, that sounds awful. Glad you made it onboard and that things are improving. Did you get the adjoining door unlocked? If not, talk to the hotel director. Good luck and hope you and your family enjoy the cruise.
  9. For the most part, the free coffee on Carnival is worth what you pay for it. Highly recommend you check out the coffee place onboard. They will have almond milk. As to the MDR, we find it varies greatly by ship. We truly enjoyed it on the Liberty last month, but hated it on the Mardi Gras in May. Give it a try, and see how it goes. We usually book a few specialty dinners on each cruise. The food, service and ambiance are way better than the MDR experience. The Panorama has been getting really good reviews. Carnival is a great cruise line for kids. Two of our three grands prefer it over Royal.
  10. There is a long thread on the Pride in Europe, which raised doubts about the ship and the crew. I have had my doubts for a while. We have done two Mardi Gras cruises this year and they have been fantastic. Could be the newness of the ship and that Carnival picks its best crew members for its new ships. So that has made us leery of the older ships. However, we went on the Liberty recently and liked the vibe. I am trying to hang in there with the Pride as the Port of Tampa is 15 minutes away from my house and I love being at sea on NYE. Decisions, decisions.
  11. Op, hang in there and I truly hope things turn around soon. Like you, we have had some great cruises since the restart. While there are staff shortages and supply chain issues, that should not be an excuse. You paid dearly for this cruise, and travelled a long distance for it. They need to figure out how to get you connecting rooms and how to serve you warm food. Crazy. We are booked on this ship for NYE, and I am having my doubts about it.
  12. I think it was a misunderstanding. Yes, the no show person will lose their entire fare, including the deposit, and it doesn't matter who paid for it.
  13. They break up the group into reasonably sized tables. Makes conversation much more enjoyable.
  14. I did my online with eMed. It was proctored and accepted for cancellation
  15. Just need to send them the positive test. Unfortunately I know that from experience
  16. That is how I would do it. Never done it intentionally but several times someone couldn’t go, so unless they had insurance we just let them be a no show. No worries about a price adjustment or having Carnival switch our cabin on us.
  17. On the Mardi Gras, we do anytime as there are more choices available than the MDR. However, the one night we tried to eat in the MDR, it was awful. Tables were too close together, everything was too loud, and the servers ignored us for 20 minutes. No thank you. On other ships, we choose late dining and like that we get the same table, the same team and don't have to make a reservation or check in on the app. We eat late at home, so this works well for us.
  18. Why? Seems illogical to want perks to go away. Most people want more of them.
  19. Like you, I want to have fun on my cruises, so I will join (or start) a conga line and haven't met a line dance I don't like.
  20. We loved Bimini. Took a taxi to Radio Beach and will do the same the next time we travel there. It is just beautiful. Cruisers miss a lot when they don't leave the port area.
  21. So how did you resolve this? Hope you didn't join the military or get married in order to take a cruise. LOL
  22. Here's one place that Royal beats Carnival. Drink packages and vouchers are accepted at Royal's private islands.
  23. I would guess we "needed" it once out of ten or more cruises with our grands. One has our same surname, the younger two don't. We and the younger grands were questioned a couple of times coming back to the States (those are the times you hope they aren't in a "playful" mood, i.e., I have never seen these people before), and was once asked for the letter. So if you want to save yourself some worry and hassle, just get the letter. This is especially true if the child would have medical or dental emergency. However, if you have sole custody, just bring the order. That works as well.
