  1. Deck 4 on the deck plans ? Link to where it is on the website ?
  2. Hi, I know this is an old post, but still its super helpful ! How were you able to download these and where ?
  3. Wow, great post, very detailed answer, thank you ! Hopefully you've inspired some folks on shorter cruises to chime in too.
  4. I haven't cruised yet, but I've read there are several opportunities to get free drinks as well. Free champagne at sailaway on a certain deck ?? The Korean bbq starts with a shot of soju (spelling? correct word? haha). Can some folks who have sailed comment on free/cheap drink opportunities ? I agree with posters above that one bar package sounds like it will be plenty for you guys. Roughly doing the math, you guys might spend $50-90 per day, combined. How long is your cruise ? At $50 per day $300/50=6 day cruise, $300/60=5 day cruise, $300/75=4 day cruise. Including the extra $100 bonus money puts it at $400/50=8 day cruise, $400/80= 5 day cruise, $400/100=4 day cruise. low end 55 him: 5 coffee 5 coffee 5 beer 10 scotch 10 wine = 35 her: 5 coffee 5 coffee 10 mojito or wine = 20 mid 80 him: 6 coffee 6 coffee 8 beer 12 scotch 13 wine = 45 her: 6 coffee 6 coffee 13 mojito 10 wine = 35 high end 90 him:5 coffee 5 coffee 10 beer 15 scotch 15 wine = 50 her: 5 coffee 5 coffee 15 mojito 15 wine = 40
  5. I'm sure this has already been booked for a while. But ... you used to be able to book Early Saver and then immediately match to your casino rate. That was pre-pandemic. Don't know one way or another if you can still do it this way nowadays.
  6. The Huevos Rancheros (spelling?) are really good from Blue Iguana during breakfast. You can get them with or without an egg topper (fried egg, maybe scrambled?). They also have this on one of the dining room menus, but I don't remember is it MDR or sea day brunch. Not sure if they're exactly the same in the dining room.
  7. Looking to find out what ships these are on nowadays ? According to the slot locator that used to be on the manufacturer's website (Aruze Gaming https://aruzegaming.com/slot_locator/), Carnival has 14 of the Shoot to Win craps machines. I would guess they're spread around on all the ships/brands under the Carnival corporate umbrella (Cunard Costa Princess etc), not just the Carnival brand ships. There definitely used to be one on Carnival Magic. Are they on any other lines (Royal, Norwegian, etc) ? https://aruzegaming.com/table-games/shoot-to-win-craps/
  8. One other thing (since it won't let me edit the one anymore, wow that timing is way too short!!) ... if you do use slot machine method you have to play a little bit with the funds you load there, or the account can be locked for making further transfers. And of course, cash works !! You can buy chips with cash at the tables and of course there's no fee for that.
  9. It was definitely 3% pre-pandemic, pretty sure its still the same. If you charge it to your cabin/card/sign & sail account they charge the fee on tables, however the fee is not charged if you load the charge from your account into a slot machine. Do you play slots at all or tables only ? Load into slot machine, play a little bit, then cash out and the cash goes back to your players club account which you can then draw on at the tables. Players club account is not the same as your sign & sail account - - before the end of your trip, go to cashiers cage to cash out whatever balance remains in your player account. Hope this makes sense ? Yes, there are some ways to get the fee waived, the main one being to go on a invitation Getaway, Premier, Ultra, or Elite cruise. Also, if you use your credit card (Visa MC Amex) to get the cash, I think the fee is more (5.5%?), so definitely use the slot machine method or use your sign & sail card. Will you answer the same question for me RE: Royal ? We have a casino offer from them and have never sailed them before, so I was wondering the same thing ! : )
  10. Anyone been on Magic since this rolled out ? Wondering if its only slot points or do they show table rating as well ? Do you have a screenshot of what this part of the app looks like ?
  11. Circling back around to this Post-Pandemic Shutdown. Anyone have updated info on Bubble Craps / Shoot to Win ?
  12. LOL, the labels don't deface your phone. They remove easily when you're done with them, and don't even leave residue. No need to change your lock screen image. (mine is no longer offered so I dont even know if there would be a way for me to get it back if I changed it)
  13. It's truly amazing. Like I literally can't remember a name even WHILE the person is telling me their name, haha. TOTALLY agree !! But, you can call or go online chat and have them switch your cabin once you've booked. Or, if you call to book they can give you the cabin you want while on the phone with them. I believe travel agents can see cabins and put you in a specific one as well. Not 100% sure about that.
  14. TIP : Label your phones. I use something like : Carnival ShipName Nov 10-17 Cabin # 12345 I use a Brother P-Touch label maker I got from Costco on sale for 19.99 that came with 2 rolls of label tape, effectively making the label maker itself free. It has gone on sale regularly over the past 10 years. The label stays stuck and then peals off easily when the cruise is over. I print a new one for each cruise. https://www.costco.com/brother-p-touch-pt-2040c-label-maker-with-supplies.product.100504759.html Also, I have another label we leave on our phones permanently. On my phone I list hubby's number, on his phone we list mine : If Found, Please Call 123-456-7890 We lost my brand new iphone, that I hadn't even made the first payment on yet, in a cab in Mexico (it slid out of my stupid girls pockets in my shorts when we were in the cab). VERY luckily, we were able to get it back. But it could have been disastrous and sad. Lesson learned and we started labeling our phones after that. It also works when you're on the ship if a kind soul finds it, they will know what cabin to return it to, or so guest services can return it to you.
  15. GREAT NEWS ! Love this. Yes, really really hoping they include table games too. Doubt it will, but hopeful. If anyone has used it, please post a screenshot !
  16. Also, if you have any idea what the code was, you just don't know what was included with that code, you can check here (change XXX to your code) .... https://www.carnival.com/cruise-deals/vifp-club/past-guest-offers-XXX/terms.aspx
  17. That's actually a great idea to use a stand of some type. The sad thing is, Virgin auto-assigns all cabins booked online to "best available" and folks are being put into these cabins thinking they are getting what the other cabins have but they're not (I guess last ones to book get these?). Evidently Virgin has been sending a notification a week or so before the cruise for each of these bookings and offering $50 OBC in compensation. If balconies were super important to me and the hammock was a selling point, $50 OBC instead would not make me happy. Regarding balcony size ... many of these are larger than normal balconies ! Slightly larger to almost or maybe even more than double the size. So, if hammock and glass aren't deal breakers for the person, these can be really good choices to get a larger balcony.
  18. Thanks ! Yeh, we're very excited too. Their commercial is so cute/funny, it was the final nail that convinced us. My friend sent it to me to talk us into it going on the birthday cruise with them, and now I walk around the house singing the Virgin Voyages commercial haha . . . Hammocks Tip : There are just a few balcony cabins that do NOT have a hammock, and also have a metal railing, not glass, for the balcony. RE: the no hammocks ... they have to be able to support 330 pounds and that part of the ship its a structural issue why they cannot have the hammock
  19. I've said to hubby many times that I don't want to try other lines because I don't want to like something else better. I love the Carnival product. i do miss some of the "fancy" stuff from my first Carnival cruise, silly things like when they would sweep the crumbs from the table at dinner (I haven't seen that in many years). But for the most part, the Carnival cruise has not changed much. I love the product and love the price, love that I know what to expect and know all the tips I have learned along the way. I don't want to try a more expensive cruise and don't want to like the more expensive cruise better. We can afford to go on more cruises if they are less expensive. Just like when we figured out we are just as happy with a porthole or even inside rather than balcony - we can afford to go on more cruises if they are less expensive. And when I did the balcony math for how much more $$ it was and how much we were paying per hour for the very little time we used the balcony, we decided we'd try "not balcony" once to see. Turns out we're fine not having a balcony - the whole ship is our balcony! So, If I already love what I have then why stray ? All that being said (haha, here it comes) ... we do have Virgin booked for this winter (friends birthday big fun group cruise that I didn't pick) BUT we are going to back-to-back it with a Carnival cruise or two (the food looks AMAZING on Virgin! especially for foodies). And, we might go on RCCL on a free cruise offer if we can make the dates work. And hopefully, if the stars align, we are going on a world cruise in 5 years or so. We're currently looking at Oceania but not definite, the itineraries on the different lines of course haven't even been released yet. But ... it does look like I'm gonna break my only Carnival streak.
  20. We are very similar to LibertyBella. Maybe slightly less dressy on regular evenings. On elegant evening, hubby is in tuxedo, I am in long gown. On regular evenings, I wear a dressier dress or skirt and dressy top, most likely not quite "cocktail" attire.
  21. I'm a little bit confused ... Is $90 the daily total limit ? Is it unlimited drinks under $25 each PLUS two bottles ? For example if hubby & I drank 4 drinks each @ $25 plus two bottles at $90 each = $380 in a single day.
  22. Yep, here's how the response reads if you don't already have a cruise booked : Thank you for submitting your Proof of Loyalty Status Form. After carefully reviewing your application, we're thrilled to welcome you aboard and offer you our Match and Sea More offer. However, there's one thing missing - it appears that you don't have a booking with us in 2022 just yet. With our Match and Sea More offer, you'll have access to our Deep Blue Perks which are only applicable to sailings within 2022.
  23. LOL, true true. But can you give any hints ? (enough hint that I can find it : ) Do they have both Carnival and Virgin on their search engine ?
  24. I was looking at my account online. Is there anywhere it shows your loyalty status if you don't currently have a cruise booked ? Where does it show ? Or am I just blind and I'm missing it ?
  25. Great tip ! I was able to easily get a friend to calendar view over the phone using this tip. Thanks ! Looks like we ARE going to go on the 4-day Virgin Voyages cruise with the 1st friend, so coordinating with 2nd friend for them to come on Carnival cruise(s) after the 4-day. Because ... going all the way to Miami for just four days ?!?!? Excited to try a different cruiseline, their commercial is so cute/funny it was the final nail that convinced us, and I watched a restaurants review video, the food looks awesome !
