  1. I think the B2 cabins on the Ruby are all on Caribe deck. Larger, partially covered balcony, so yes it's an upgrade. Don't know of any drawbacks.
  2. I booked one of our favorite M6 minis at what I think is a great price for this special cruise. I had already shopped prices on the small ship, specialty cruises and those were way more than I wanted to pay.
  3. I'm booked and got second choice on cabin! Very happy camper here. 😃🥳
  4. We had the November 13 sailing booked. That one was going to the Sea of Cortez, and that was the only reason we booked it. Not interested in the replacement cruises. We have two cruises booked next year, so we're not in the market for booking another one. We just have a $200 down payment for the canceled cruise, so I guess I'll be requesting a refund of that. This is a bummer, but at least for us it's before final payment, so I suppose I shouldn't complain.
  5. We're strongly considering one of the balcony cabins on Sun Deck. We like to be high up in the ship, we don't mind the small balconies (had one on the Majestic, and it was fine), and that location looks very interesting.
  6. I think Lady Arwen nailed it. I was getting ready to say that I'd try to answer this if you would try to answer why they serve(d) jambalaya on the train from Denali to Anchorage. It was really good, but we found it strange.
  7. I feel your pain - I was 5' 3" at top height, and I'm only 5' 2" now. 🤣
  8. My hubby doesn't like to sit still, so that usually frees up one of the balcony chairs so I can stack them. When I stack them, I can see over the metal rail.
  9. I was in E107 on a cabin crawl on a Royal class ship, and I marked it in my travel notes on my phone as excellent. Nice big balcony. As others have noted, the balcony has a metal front, rather than glass. I'm short, but I don't mind that. A cabin in this location has always been on my list of cabins to book on Royal class if we can't get our favorite cabin. I would also book one of the front-facing cabins on Marina or Lido. We like far forward, high in the ship because we enjoy the motion. You get a lot of that, if there's any to get. Again, metal front balcony and it's windy at sea, but I don't mind either of those.
  10. We had C750 on the Ruby last fall, and it would be the same on the Crown. .I thought it was a great location. It's away from the vent that runs up the back of the ship. It's high enough that the wake noise is at a pleasant level. We didn't notice any smoke coming up from the crew smoking area on Promenade.
  11. I agree with skynight, but I would also say to consider bringing umbrellas. We like umbrellas for taking ashore if we're going to be doing a lot of walking around.
  12. It's the thing that we were really happy to see when it came along and replaced the telex. Anybody remember the telex? 🤣
  13. I think that 12 days is the minimum they want you to order by. I've always ordered them two or three months out, and that's worked for me every time.
  14. I've never had dinner in Sabatini's, only breakfast. I always look at the dinner menu for both Sabatini's and Crown Grill, and I always end up choosing Crown Grill because the menu just looks better to me. Love the lamb chops.
  15. I'll never put in the special event again. Did it once, and they gave me a coupon for 10% off on jewelry purchase over some amount or another. Some gift! 🤣
  16. I don't think it's against policy. There are a lot of these on EBay, and I don't really remember which one I bought. I think it might be the one linked below, because it offers a lot of necklace lengths. You can't choose necklace length until late in the purchase process. I advise you to be careful and order one long enough, 26" or 30". I ordered 26" and think it's about right. I can't imagine trying to work with one shorter than that. 17. I think it's likely that it goes something like this. Their computer system is programmed to do upgrades when cabins are unsold. They probably do this in series, for instance X number of B1s would be upgraded to minis. Another X number of B2 would be upgraded to B1. And so on. It's an automated process, and it's based solely on the category number with no human involved to see that the upgrade you got makes no sense. Or, possibly, somebody wanted the specific cabin you were in to be near traveling companions.
  18. We had a cabin in that area once on the Golden, and we never heard a thing.
  19. Did you go to Tracy Arm for Sawyer Glacier instead? That's what's supposed to happen if Endicott is too icy, but I suppose it could happen that both are too icy.
