Well…….being from the South I use strips of lime green duct tape on all sides of my luggage and I can pick it out at 100 yards……😂😂 I figure someone would be too embarrassed to steal it and walk around with it!!😂😂

Wrong name and DOB..how t correct it?
GTO-Girl replied to Tan1415's topic in Royal Caribbean International
My husband is also a Jr and every time we booked a cruise I had to remind them to put Jr. For some reason the profile in the system wasn’t recognizing suffixes so if I forgot I had to call them back! I finally solved the problem myself…..I went into my husband’s profile….removed Junior from the suffix drop down block. Went back to the block for the last name and just put a space after the name and added Jr on the same “last name” block. Now my husband’s “last name” appears as Davis Jr. That was a couple of years ago and now our reservations always match our passports so no more problems….😁😁 -
Also check rates at Park Port Canaveral….it is less than a mile to the port and has a nice, fenced and paved parking area with continuous shuttles. we don’t like Park & Cruise because they stack cars in their gravel parking lot like sardines!!
-
The Radisson currently has major construction going on and the hotel itself is in need of renovation. There are much nicer places to stay in Canaveral…

Just sailed on the Jewel this month and will sail her again 3/17. We loved the ship, staff, bar tenders and bands especially the Kronos band!! we cannot wait to sail her again!!

To save some time drop off everyone else and all your luggage at the terminal and then return the car. Only one person and no luggage makes it a lot easier….😁😁

Call (or have your travel agent call) and have it noted on your reservation you wish a table for 2. I also check my table when I board and if it’s not a table for 2 I go see the hostess and have it corrected.

PORT CANAVERAL RCL how strict are boarding times???
GTO-Girl replied to beauty1492's topic in Florida Departures
We sailed on the Wonder from terminal 1 last month. They were not allowing anyone into the line up area until 10:00. They first allowed Suites, Pinnacles and The Key to line up. Then they would come back to the holding area to the right of the terminal doors and they would call people by their assigned checkin times and let them line up. Unless your time was called you remained in the holding area…. Once in the terminal only Suites, Pinnacles and The Key had a special area to gather. Everyone else were seated in sections according to your assigned checkin time and that is how we also boarded. They were very strict about all of the above and it really made it all flow very well. Debarkation was also handled very well and the crew made sure there were no line jumpers during self assist…. All in all it was a much better process than what we previously experienced at this terminal… -
keep checking your app when you get to the terminal. We have been able to book shows while waiting to board….

We love sailing from Canaveral……hated Miami….

We just got off a ship last Saturday and if there are a lot of ships in port that day traffic around your checkin time could be a nightmare. We took a shuttle to the port from the hotel around 10:30 and fortunately we were going to Terminal 5 because traffic to get off Hwy 528 going to Terminal 1 was backed up on 528 as far as you could see!!! If you are in T1 I would get there very early and grab a parking spot and then just wait in the garage for a little bit…

Just got off the Jewel last Saturday. We had early Traditional dining and our time was 5:15 however they opened the doors at 5pm every evening

We just got off the Jewel and will sail on her again March 17th. We too usually sail the Oasis class but we loved this ship….. HOWEVER….we are in our 70’s and like the feel of cruising as it was years ago with beautiful views, floor to ceiling windows, lots of places to sit and read and just watching the ocean go by. We do not have any children with us so if your child is used to all the bells and whistles of the big ships they may not be happy. It is much smaller and does not have a promenade so it is very different… Just look at some You Tube videos and be sure it has all that your are looking for….

VERY bad advice……especially for new or inexperienced cruisers who might not know any better!!!!!

After the Southwest debacle a few weeks ago where they cancelled thousands of flights and people were stranded at the airport for days….no way would I trust flying with them the day of!!! But then again…..no way would I fly in the day of period!!

Make your final payment with your TA as you usually do. I am in my 70’s and found making purchases such as drink pkgs, etc are easier for me to do on the website. I just log in there and go to the planner. You will have your Set Sail Pass on your app which is good but being old school I still print mine out as it speeds up checkin rather than having to look for it on your phone. The only thing I use the app for is checkin, muster drill, health questions, to keep up with onboard daily activities and to keep a check on my account onboard.

Help fine tune these PC arrangements...my mind is mush

The Radisson would not be on my list of places to stay. We stayed there for years for stopped several years ago because of some issues. All hotels in the Canaveral area are pretty pricey but check these out as they are all less than a mile to the port and much nicer….. *Hampton Inn & Suites Cruise Port *Home2Suites *Homewood Suites *Towneplace Suites *Springhill Suites *Residence Inn *Country Inn & Suites Check out these shuttles for transportation from the airport and then the morning of the cruise see if your hotel has a shuttle or just call an Uber *Cocoa Beach Shuttle *Cruise Control Transportation *Contrans Shuttle *GoPort -
Park Port Canaveral is about a mile from the port. Nice paved fenced in lot with shuttles running continuously. Be sure to use the discount code at the top of their website for the best deal…
