  1. I am paying $200.00 more per person than you so, yes, I will take that bet. We got $200.00 per person in ship board credit so the rest was less expensive than yours (free)......I also have an MBA and a PHD and am a CPA so math does tend to be in my wheelhouse too....
  2. The OBC is the difference between the cruise only fare and the O Life fare so you are pre-paying your SBC....on the other hand if you choose the free excursions or the beverage package the value of those are often significantly more than the difference from the cruise only fare. Choosing either the shore excursons or the beverage package only makes financial sense if you take O excursions or drink onboard. We are on a cruise with the ultimate sale and the value of the 3 perks is approximately $1820.00 more than the cruie only fare.....but the O life fare was only $200.00 more per person so we are, in fact, receiving $1420.00 "free" We will use the SBC to upgrade to the presitge package so, yes, we will drink for free and have 2 free excursions on our cruise. You need to do the math and balance the value of your O Life amenity against the cruise only fare,,,,
  3. The SBC is a credit on your shipboard account so it will pay for anything charged to your account....we do not gamble so someone else will have to answer the question about taking money out of your shipboard account to play in casino.
  4. $100.00 for bronze $250.00 for silver plus free gratuities $400.00 for gold plus free gratuities $500.00 for platinum and a free cruise plus free gratuities Oceania Club Cruise Loyalty Program & Cruise Deals | Oceania Cruises I'll take that any day over a mass market with a $100.00 "free OBC" and you pay for everything!
  5. Since Oceania does not charge for any non-alcoholic beverages not for specialty restaurants, etc., you do not need much OBC like you do on the mass market cruise lines....no nickle and diming on O.....,.
  6. Also, he is an extremely talented singer.....his show is one of the best I have ever seen onboard any ship! Loved Carson and hope to sail with him again!
  7. He also has some amazing "holiday" outfits!!
  8. Sorry for themisunderstanding, I meant that you need to look at the terms and conditons of the promotion you were booked under for your cruise. In the terms and conditons for each promotions, it specifically states which promotions it is combinable with and which promotions it is not combinable. It varies by promotion. It appears that the promotion "sale" you booked under, it was not combinable with NCL stock OBC. We have had it both ways. I always send in the NCL stock form (cause I usually never remember which promotion the cruise was booked under) and if it has not appeared in my "manage this cruise" a few weeks before the cruise, I ask my TA to check on the status. Nothing can be done by reception onboard.
  9. When we have had a butler, we never tipped each time he came to the cabin but made sure to thank him profusley. At the end, we gave him an envelope with an extra tip. There has not been a charge when we asked the butler to arrange a special party in our PH for a few friends - he set up table with food, napkins, utensils, glasses and non-alcoholic drinks. We provided several bottles of wine to share with the group. He also would have stayed and served if we requested. If you want to the butler to provide liquor, then you would pay for the liquor.
  10. When we were on the Marina in November.....they had the Welcome reception (sans Captain and senior crew) but it was really a 2-3 hour free drinks at any open bar. I think there was one more evening they did the same 2-3 hour free drink evening.
  11. I do not have a problem with a travel agent that has not booked anything for me before (thus an unknown client) charging an upfront fee that is then deducted from my final payment. Then, in the future, no fee is charged....
  12. Yes, there are sales that do exclude combining with other promotions.......the Ultimate Sale excludes NCL stock OBC but does allow AMEX cruise privelagers.....have had other sales that excludes both and others that allowed NCL stock and exclude AMEX cruise privelage. It is in the fine print of the terms and conditons of the specific promotion/sale you were booked under. If you have a copy of the terms and conditions of the promotion that you were booked under and it does not exclude NCL stock OBC, then you should be able to take that to reception or Oceania ambassador and get it applied.
  13. nope.....price is the same before boarding or once onboard.....
  14. You will be assigned a specific butler that will take care of you during your cruise. If you order breakfast, they will be the one to bring it to your room and set up your table. If you want/need anything during the day or evening and pick up the phone to request something, the butler will (normally) be the one to answer the phone and handle the request. They will bring your afternoon drinks and canapes. If you desire dinner in suite, they will handle the order and serve you course by course (or all at once if you prefer). They do have "back ups" so if it their time off, the back up butler will handle anything you need. They greet you with a smile and make your cruise very special.
  15. From what I have seen on postings and from personal experience, most of the CD's onboard are seasoned O veterans dearly loved by "most"....with the addition of Vista they are going to need to hire some new ones but probably will move current assistant CD's up and hire new assistant CDs.
  16. It has been this for many years.....the select package is $39.35 per person per day and the Prestige package is $59.95 per person per day...plus gratuity.....if you take the select drink packakage as your Olife choice then you pay an additional $20.00 per person per day to upgrade to the prestige package. We just did this on our November 2021 Maina sailing...
  17. Thanks - we are Scoma lovers and had already looked into making a reservation.....too early but will reserve when they open up for September...
  18. Just checked and it says the Slanted Door is closed for renovations until late 2022....😟 we will be there the beginning of September....
  19. I believe she indicated that she was looking for a cruise line that did not require someone to be vaccinated and was going on Cunard.....all of her posts have disappeared now
  20. Suites on Princess do not come with a butler., addittional free reservations at specialty restaurants, course by course serving of meals from the GDR and any specialty dining room in your cabin, etc.
  21. Oceania has never limited the amount of wine, beer or any type of liquor be brought on board for consumption in your cabin........this as at embarkation and at any port.. we have brought on board a case of wine at embarkation, slapped a label on it, handed to the porters with our luggage and it is usually the first delivered to our cabin.
  22. Call O and have them book your free excursions....they do not mind
  23. Did you actually go finish the process and check out? The excursions sitting in the cart is not a confirmed excursion.
  24. I did not look back to see that her posts were removed.......so glad that the moderators are working. The remarks were uncalled for and so not respectful. Thank you for your details on how Oceania handles quaratine which mirrors most everything else I have read.
  25. You have a AMEX platinum or centurion credit card, pay for the cruise with that card and then your TA contacts AMEX and gets an approval code which is given to Oceania and you receive a $250.00OBC....not all promotions are combinable so must read fine print to make sure it is combinable with AMEX,
