  1. I agree with all of the above with emphasis on WHERE you're going to meet and at WHAT TIME once everybody goes to their cabins and gets separated from the group. Cell phone is a terrific idea.
  2. Familiarity breeds contempt. ๐Ÿ˜†
  3. Excellent. ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†
  4. Do the cruises and get the perks. Quit trying to game the system. You only demean yourself.
  5. Priority boarding and debarking, cabin ready early, and specialty pricing on future cruises.
  6. Have a cold beer at the Atrium Bar. Platinum, so drop off carryons at the cabin. If it's a new ship for me explore and take pics before the masses are onboard. Get something to eat from the buffet. Relax awaiting Muster Drill. Always good to be at sea again.
  7. Exactly . . . One person's observation is very limited
  8. First PLATINUM cruise I was cruising with a lady that was already PLATINUM. I told her I thought I was PLATINUM and she marched my butt down to the purser who took my gold card disappeared for a few minutes and came back with a PLATINUM card, apologizing up and down. Later that evening an officer came to our cabin with a bottle of wine and apologized profusely again. Kudos to Carnival for setting an error straight the American business way.
  9. I'll be boarding the PANORAMA as you are getting off . . . Have gone to the Queen Mary many times and never had to pay for anything other than drinks and dining.
  10. I'm surprise that we haven't seen a multitude of posts instructing us in how to fill an empty wine bottle with booze and seal the top perfectly to appear unopened. Each guest still allowed ONE wine bottle onboard.
  11. The reason for the prohibition on bottled water and soft drinks is to combat passengers trying to bring booze onboard in bottles. My guess.
  12. Budweiser is like sex in a canoe . . . ๐Ÿ˜‰
  13. I'm booked on the Panorama also in January, but don't know anything about"medallions".
  14. I agree, if you have your booking number and proof that you are the name associated with the booking number, you should be good to go (might take a little time to get it all sorted out, but you'll be cruising). Fair winds and following seas.
  15. Any chance of squeezing PLATINUM into that twist?
  16. Morning for me. A bachelor these days, so I pretty much makeup my own room. Roughly make the bed, put clothes away, keep the desk and bathroom neat. I'm happy when the steward enters my cabin and can relax and take a break.
  17. I also usually cruise solo. Not sure if Carnival still does this, but in the past most SOLO cruisers were put at a table of SOLO cruisers. One of the best MDR tables I've ever been seated at was decades ago with 5 other SOLO cruisers. Cruised with one of them, a nurse, twice thereafter (two cakes to the table as we both were born on the same date). We had a young tv producer from Denver (his first cruise), a golf pro, a beautiful mysterious lady from Thailand, and a travel agent (provided 2 bottles of wine for each meal ๐Ÿ˜‚). Hope they continue to do this on your cruise.
  18. Thank you for the information. Does this standard default font with Boldness help the situation ? FWIW, my Galaxy 10 phone also has difficulties with certain fonts.
  19. With few exceptions, I've always cruised interior. I usually cruise solo and I'm seldom in my cabin - shower, change clothes, and sleep (if I must). Now and then I take my ex wife with me (have to pay double anyway ) and she loves it. I always spend every waking hour out and about on the ship involved in all the activities. At night I sleep like a baby. Pushing 80, so around the 5th or 6th day I can sure use that afternoon nap in total darkness.๐Ÿ™‚ If I book early enough I can sometimes snag a porthole cabin at inside pricing, but those disappear quickly. However, Carnival is getting wise to this and usually charges a little more for these. Still a bargain, IMHO.
  20. Very informative thread. With 32 cruises I've never once done this, however, I'm going to give it a try on my PANORAMA cruise in January. Thank you all for the information and the replies. ๐Ÿ™‚
  21. I book Fantasy Class ships all the time on the west coast. The 4-dayers "sandwich" in very well with my longer cruises and NO AIRFARE ! These 8 ships are the ships that put Carnival on the map in the 90s and are maintained very well. Of course they don't have all the bells and whistles but are a lot of fun.
  22. The Steakhouse charges but, you get a free bottle of wine while you dine, which is in the evening. The Cuchina del Capitan offers their reduced menus free during the DAY including embarkation day.
  23. I have noticed on several occasions that WCMC is in the desert section of the buffet. Usually after dinner late. Probably trying to get rid of them for the day.
  24. Before retiring I had to look for a "window" where I could be away from my business for a week at a time, so I had to book last minute usually 3-4 days out(once the day of the cruise). Now with more freedom of movement and with constant Platinum offers I'm booked as far out as Jan.2020 on the PANORAMA. When I get antsy I just book a 4-dayer I "sandwich" in to appease the addiction.
