  1. Yes, the meal for 2 is what it says on the tin....2 people, provided the card used for their system is Diamond i.e. yours.
  2. Indeed, on all our YC Med and Lesser Antilles cruises we arranged to stay onboard through late afternoon and once early evening when we had a 9pm flight. It's a fabulous perk, and almost always we do it.
  3. Aaargh....noooooooooooot again please, it's all become so boring!
  4. Best to delete I'd say if it concerns you to that extent!
  5. I started reading the OP, and thought how best to respond. When I got to Nunagoras' post I realised that is basically what I'd say....he is increasingly the rational voice of reason on the MSC boards!
  6. With at least 6 YC cruises, we have never at any level felt the need for pre-cruise contact nor have we received any.....albeit none of those have been from a USA port. On board, we have found any requirement is swiftly handled by the concierge or butlers!
  7. You have failed to understand 'everything read everywhere else'. If you bid for an upgrade, and are successful, you then are entitled to the full new experience....on the basis there has been an additional financial transaction. Normally, with an upgrade granted without bidding, it is the cabin only that changes and the experience remains as original booking. That is with the exception of YC, because you are then located in the YC enclave where virtually everything is included. On our Caribbean cruise last winter, there were a handful of couples who were granted such at boarding, and spent their time grinning from ear to ear! One such couple, who live about 15 miles from us in Scotland said they pinched themselves each morning, as they couldn't quite believe their luck. Their booking had been a Fantastica balcony, so theirs was a significant free upgrade big time. The others were upgraded from Aurea.
  8. Every single cruiseline, for a similar transatlantic would have no more stops along the way.....it's a very wide pond, and takes many days to traverse! 😉
  9. What you need to understand is it's probably not a '3 night cruise' as such. Much more likely to be 3 nights which are part of a longer repetitive cruise with more than one boarding point.....but, perhaps not if it's in the USA. My point is it's unlikely there will be anything special laid on to spice up a 3 night cruise! 😉
  10. My experience accords with JAGR, that aside he is rarely incorrect! 😉
  11. As Phissy pointed out you've shot your bolt....Gold is your status, no second chance!
  12. My advice would be leave them home, simply not required! Our experience across 7 or 8 MSC cruises, mostly in YC, is 5% of passengers at most will be in such dress....that's 1 in 20.

  17. Once onboard, we've never had any problem getting a suitable evening/time. Enjoy!
  18. If you have a high level status on any other cruiseline, or even hotel group, you can do a status match. If you haven't done so, it is easy to set up. If you achieve the top level, Diamond, status you are entitled to a free specialty restaurant meal. For Butchers Cut (steakhouse) there is a set menu which works for us. Alternatively you do a la carte and get a 50% discount on pricing with Diamond status.
  19. Luggage for YC is given priority status, not an issue.
  20. Another vote for this! There is no doubt the sundeck in YC right at the front of ship is the place to be, and it is easy to do the 360 for special sights. Regarding cabin our first YC was inside, followed by 6 YC Deluxe Suite....much better without a doubt but current costs are significantly increased. For that reason, without hesitation, our next two cruises are YC inside. We would now not cruise MSC outwith the YC, having done so a year ago with Aurea experience.
  21. The MSC dress code is smart casual, YC is no different from the rest of the ship for dress code.
