  1. I've noticed some people say things like 'there was a line at Osheehan's but when they realized we were Haven they got us a table right away'. How do they know you are Haven? Do they ask for your room number or something? I don't want to be THAT person calling attention to myself. It just feels elitist to me and is not something I would feel comfortable doing.
  2. Awesome. The less stuff taking up space the better! Thanks everyone.
  3. I suspect they will have a ton of 'medication issue/recovering alcoholics' onboard now. LOL I don't see this changing much though. People will still lie and share a drink package...but now they will have to pay 30pp to do it.
  4. I've read that in the Haven people have had stuff removed from the cabin. Can you do that in the regular cabins too? I don't want the coffee maker stuff taking up space and I would prefer our mini fridge cleared.
  5. Perfect! We will plan for him to attend night 1 to meet other kids. It was like this on Disney too and I had hoped for the same on NCL.
  6. My son is 11 and an only child. Is there a meet and greet onboard for kids to meet other kids? I didn't see it listed in the Dailies.
  7. I can't imagine they would turn away parents with a 16yo.
  8. I'm way confused now....so they are allowing me to buy Two (250) deposits and apply them to one cruise onboard. So I give them my CC for a $500 charge. ---They then give me what? It states I get $250 in onboard credit. Does that mean I can use that 250 credit and only pay 250 on my CC for the deposits?
  9. We are going Feb. 25th and I'm going to start packing after the holidays. I'm an EARLY packer.
  10. Wondering - can we add things to the hang tag that we want? For instance- I see a bagel on there that comes with the omelet- but I don't want the omelet. I just want a bagel with butter and cream cheese (which isn't listed as a condiment). I also want a croissant- there is a bread basket listed but not a croissant specifically.
  11. Gotcha. So if the food is free on the ship we could potentially get it delivered to a Haven room for free also. (plus tips of course).
  12. Using mine for internet plan and extra food purchases on the ship like ice cream and American Diner.
  13. So we could get Mozzarella sticks delivered for free? 🤪
  14. Odd question- but do these items have a charge to them? Or do they provide them for free to you?
  15. Exactly. If they KNOW, they should tell passengers. IMO the laws should change. Passengers should be told if there is a reasonable assurance that a port might not happen. Waiting until people board to tell them stuff they knew well in advance is wrong.
  16. Nope! Sadly Norwegian makes it hard to use the credits. The credits must be spent when you get 'onboard'. So you would have to book the tours after you get on the ship. It's ridiculous.
  17. Are you counting kids (under 12) as 'persons' in your calculations. If so, I've found one at 284/pp (2A/1C). Is that a 'great' deal for Haven?
  18. Yup! There are 42 Haven cabins left on my cruise at 72 days out. The cost for 2A/1C to upgrade to Haven is currently 2500 over what we actually paid for a balcony. ---but the upgrade system is allowing me to bid up to 4000....1500 OVER the actual cost for me to just upgrade myself.
  19. While the fine print says this could happen and they don't owe you anything- wondering if they gave you guys anything at all for this. 1 port in the USA would make people really angry I bet.
  20. OBC comes 2nd day of cruise. I booked with crucon and they did pay the gratuities right away though. My account only shows that I owe grat for my son. (we had 2 people grat free from TA).
  21. An odd thing happened and I was wondering if someone could clue me in. I've been tracking Haven availability on our cruise for awhile. Last I checked there were 32 left. Today? --there are 42. I counted twice to be sure. We are well past final payment date so why would there suddenly be 10 more cabins available? I also was sure to include only 2 adults to be sure I was getting all possible Haven options available and I swear it was 32 last week and now it's 42. For reference we leave in 73 days.
  22. While there are over 1400 staterooms eligible- I've noticed that 10% actually bidding is pretty typical. (I learned this from the live bidding info people have been given) A ton of people simply don't want to bid, don't have the money to bid or don't even have the option to bid (because they booked with a group that doesn't allow bidding) Your chances are way better than 1/1400 or even 80/1400 ---unless you are traveling during high time and the Havens are sold out.
  23. The smaller ships are still going to Taino. The larger ones are the problem.
  24. I noticed this too yesterday- Cruisemapper states the following: Note: This page combines Cruisemapper's schedules for two different cruise ports/terminals - Amber Cove (exclusive for Carnival Corporation-owned ships), and Puerto Plata. The distance between the ports is 12 km (7,5 mi), with travel time ~20 min drive. ---so if you see 4 ships 2 of those ships MUST go to Taino. ---but keep in mind that all Carnival/subsidiaries have 1st dibs on Amber Cove so if 2 of those 4 ships are Carnival/Costa etc? ---you are going to Taino--BUT if your ship is classified as 'large'---AKA- Escape--you currently can't doc at Taino...so....where are you going? Nobody knows....
  25. We are already going to GSC--so it's either 'sea day' or Nassau I guess. I know cruisemapper is a place to look--wondering where else we might see the ship list for Amber Cove in February. It's not posted on the main website for AC yet.
