  1. I agree. When on Disney only one adult restaurant called Paulo.Perhaps the newer ships have more options. Other restaurants fair. But now Royal entertainment has Disney beat. Also, for those who enjoy a casino, none on Disney. We went without kids and never again. We enjoy a quiet dinner.
  2. When I have family over for dinner it is a nightmare- We now either take everyone out for dinner so they can all eat what they want or order in separate for each. My DH eats less then me and is happy with the small filet like you.
  3. Our experience on the summit- has been great- it isn't a "party" ship like carnival. Typically a more reserved experience. I am sure you will enjoy the ship. Their is plenty to do and music and dancing in the late evening.
  4. A New York Steak house serves such large portions, you bring home half for the next day! I am not very thin nor overweight, but I enjoy a nice dinner- I would order a ribeye! lol! I have family in Richmond VA. But they are mostly vegan's.
  5. Welcome back to Celebrity! We will also be on the Apex in March. We are booked in a sky suite, but it has become pricey. If I didn't book a sky suite, I personally would opt for an aft balcony cabin as you get a true balcony. I am not a great fan of blu and would, with the money saved, have dinners in SP restaurants. Blu on the S and M class ships is better located- on the Edge class it is off a busy hallway and open with the exception on a unusual shade- you can see into and out of the restaurant. Also, with CC and balcony class you get to dine if you desire my time dining. The concept of three restaurants is great. Enjoy your cruise.
  6. I understand about amuse bouche, but the entree's have been reduced in size- maybe cost cutting measures. I am not a dessert person and like a respectable portion of fish, poultry or beef for dinner and a big salad. I feel like a pest if I say may I please have another. I also am not a fan of a buffet-
  7. I agree. Will not sail on Disney again. The pricing for the cruise and also in the parks is obscene When we are sailing on Royal, if our budget is an issue for the sailing, we find the central park view cabins work great for us.
  8. While I agree smaller size is typically fine- not a great fan of tapas. I Like a fist sized portion of most foods, appetizers can be smaller, but not a tiny shrimp on a cracker.
  9. We are "young" senior citizens. Love the look of the Icon. Have booked it. Yes, they are attempting to attract younger and multigenerational travelers. Why not? Biggest market share. The senior market share is shrinking. Like the idea of choice and will continue to sail on Oasis class and above even if we sail just the two of us. We can hang in the adult only areas.
  10. We opt for the all in. We use the wifi, like that tips are included and do not have to worry if we order a drink, don't like it, and order something else. We also enjoy specialty coffee throughout the day. Bottled water and soft drinks also works for us. Seems to work for us. When we used to drink in the Elite lounge, the liquor was inferior.
  11. Another benefit of the all included dining package (if offered for your cruise) is lunch is also included. Some sp restaurants, like the lawn club grill and sushi on five offer lunch also. Varies so check once on board.
  12. I am just making what I believe to be helpful suggestions. Of course everyone should make their own decisions- you don't have to agree with my suggestions, but I am truly trying to help those who might be interested. Have sailed on 50 cruises the past 20 years, mostly celebrity and royal, so I am just trying to give some suggestions. Everyone has to enjoy their vacation as they see fit. I am not being disrespectful Sorry if some might misinterpret my remarks.
  13. We have also sailed a couple of times in Reflection Suites on the S class ships and loved them. Getting too pricey now. Happy to stay in a sky suite!
  14. We can agree to disagree and my DH is a physicist! Wear the heavy dress shoes/loafers on the plane and the jacket- 50 lbs is a decent amount for luggage- we also take a carry-on! Surely you bring more then one pair of shoes, sandals and sneakers.
  15. We went to Nachi Cocum once and were very dissatisfied Found the service poor and the chairs and tables were dirty and busted. A small pool and lacking nice facilities. We love port days and do stay on board many times, but our go to is Cozumel and Mr. Sanchos. We always now skip PR. Find first of all the ship docks late and we are settled in on the ship. Nice when the ship isn't crowded.
  16. We sailed on the Edge and soon the Apex. Which I thought was identical to the Beyond. The suite lounge on the Apex is much bigger as is the suite deck. My neice and nephew were recently on the Apex an loved it. The sky suite was great, plenty of storage and a true balcony. So many do not like the infinite balcony cabins. Say just like a window room with a window that opens, sometimes if not closed by the captain for weather or other reasons. When we boarded to Edge we were ushered to the suite lounge. Everything went so smoothly. Hope the same for our Apex trip. IMO nothing beats a suite on these ships. If I had to book a balcony, which I might as rates continue to climb, I would opt for an aft balcony cabin. You get a true balcony. Thanks again for sharing.
  17. Thank you for sharing. We love Mr. Sanchos in cozumel and always book it pre-cruise. Also, we will be on the Apex end of December and the first week in January. Is Rooftop grill covered? We do not like direct sun as my DH has had skin CA. We also do stay at the Riverside Hotel. Love to walk around and window shop on Los Olas Blvd. The choice of places to dine is wonderful. We have stayed at many hotels in Dania Beach for a few dollars less, but Riverside is now our go to hotel. We stay in the old section of the hotel and the rates are significantly cheaper.
  18. I am not at all negatively impacted by what other wear- However to say that for example, a dressy top and nice slacks or a skirt weighs more than less formal attire puzzles me. Also, many men wear their sports jackets on the airplane, and other attire weights the same. But that is me. Of course it is a personal choice. Also I find the ships cool at night as the AC is always on high, so jackets are actually helpful.
  19. I don't understand why people have a problem with dressing up? We dress to attend weddings and formal occasions at home. Is it truly a big deal for a man to wear a jacket, shirt and tie? A lady to wear a skirt and blouse, dressy pants and tops or a dress? I had enough of "stretch pants" and jogging type clothes during covid. Time to celebrate! Perhaps we all need to get new clothes a size or two larger!
  20. Why not move now? If other cabins available grab one. The "rule" is cabins above and cabins below, midship are the best. Why deal with negative possibilities?
  21. Looks great Will be on the Apex New Years and the following week. I agree about the prices. We always book a suite and sometimes try move up- however for our two cruises the price is insane for us to consider moving up. We will stay put. We do have a couple of cruises booked for 2023- but I think after those that are booked, if prices continue to soar, we will book balcony cabins and enjoy the elite plus perks. Have a great cruise! Thanks for sharing.
  22. More then a great meal. Very comfortable seating- wait service. No crowds or kids running around. IMO so many shore X's are crowded and not worth the charge- people spend money in casino- so do what you like. Worth it to many. It's your vacation.
