Cruise a holic

PS I used the hair salon once and a gentleman did a horrible job. Cancelled other appointments.

Dinner three times in two weeks. The second week we purchased the 7 night dinner package. The first week, new years week, only limited special packages were offered.

Caroline, another lady forgot her name and a tall young gentleman. Of course threw away all of my daily planner and information. The manager I have seen on other ships

My DH and I did our first b/2/b cruise on the celebrity Apex. Overall a wonderful cruise. Boarding was a breeze as we were ushered into the suite boarding lounge- so fast and efficient. They servered snacks and beverages also. We were escorted onto the boarding area within minutes. The ship is just beautiful. Relatively new and immaculate. We proceeded to our home- a sky suite for our stay. The room was clean- but I detected a weird mild smell. Our luggage wasn't delivered, but we unpacked our carry-on and put our valuables in the safe. The room is bright with a wonderful bathroom. It had a tub/shower combo and double farmhouse type sink. The toilet is enclosed giving privacy and allowing for two people to use the bathroom at the same time. Storage in the bathroom was fine. The suite had one large closet and storage shelves and drawers- of course IMO would have liked more. Two little night stands next to each bed- best to go on youtube to tour the suite. Liked the fact that we had a true balcony, albeit it small. We meet our butler Alfred who was very accommodating- Celebritiy now has tea time every afternoon in the suite lounge. We used to have the butler come to our stateroom daily around 4 with snacks and beverages. No longer. However room service is complimentary. The bed was comfortable. TV didn't offer much . Our suite was near the foward elevators- loved the location. Great access to Retreat deck and lounge and restaurant. I prefer the S class lounge set up. More intimate and comfortable. The retreat sun deck offers little shade- It has a small pool and hot tub. In addition you can get a limited lunch daily on the deck. It has a really good bar. All of the staff was wonderful on the retreat deck. We enjoyed all of the speciality restaurants- Eden is wonderful. So improved from our early Edge sailing. Also loved the rooftop grill. However it should be better protected from the elements as on the reflection and silhouette- The steak house was also very good- we do no eat sushi- so didn't go to that restaurant. We did enjoy Petite Chef- worth a visit- food and show good. Some of the entertainment was excellent- 3 Divias were terrific. The main show IMO was a stinker- silly. Heard the adult comedians were very good. And another singer was also very good. Enjoyed the lounge music and Martini bar- Missed the ice top however like on the older ships. Shopping limited- a few designer stores- high pressure in the new Effy jewelry store- not many sundries available- We don't purchase alcohol, but I did buy some makeup. Port ok= we missed Labadee on both cruises- too bad we enjoy the day- The ship arrived in Puerto Rico a 4PM Waste- too late to start going off the ship. Other ports ok- however we did have to take tenders on a few. Disembarkation was also a breeze- however the ft lauderdale airport is too small a crowded. Overall a great back to back experience. We will sail again on this ship in the spring for one week.

You get internet, butler access to luminae and retreat lounge. Also priority embark and disembarking. Any other suite priority

We booked the icon for feb 2024. We are seniors but want to sail whenwe are both well and can enjoy

Only negative imo was thebathroom. Perfect for a person in a wheelchair but the shower makes the whole floor wet and the sink is very low to accommodate a wheelchair.

Happens with plastic flip flops also! Best to wear closed slippers and sandals with straps

I miss the cabinet over the bed as on the S class ships. That was a great addition of storage space. Glad you had fun.

Since we will be sailing on the 30th, glad to hear it has been installed. Hope it works well! Sorry you missed it.

My opinion nope. We did AQ a few times and used the persian garden once.

We typically stay in a suite and enjoy luminae for breakfast and some lunches. However we do treat ourselves to specialty restaurants. We love the lawn club grill, murano and Le Petit Chef- Tuscan grill ok but not the greatest. We do not eat sushi so avoid sushi on five. Also the Porch is excellent for lunch if you enjoy seafood. While all not necessary, a great special treat. Enjoy your vacation.

This is such a hot topic. We like to dress and enjoy chic night- I no longer wear a gown- a fancy dress or silk pants and a dressy top is what I wear now- my DH enjoys dressing up and always wears a tie and jacket chic nights.And he also dresses for work in a shirt and tie daily. We have seen the full gamet as others have said. From housework and gardening attire to ballroom clothes. Do what you feel you will be comfortable wearing. Just no gym or pool attire. Celebrity has listed what they consider Chic attire for those who need recommendations. Enjoy your cruise

You can get toast a buffet and bring to elite breakfast if important.

I believe you get special coffee and mimosa’s, at elite breakfast, if the same as s and m class ships.

What time?

While we do love the S and M class ships, the Martini bars, are very noisy and very crowded during peak times of the day- E class offers much more seating- while the ice bar is missed. The aft cabins have regular balconies on the e-class ships, so for those who do not like the infinite balcony a great option.

That is one reason we nixed a cabana. Do not like the idea of the fact that they are off a public hallway- feel like a caged animal in the zoo. We did enjoy the cabana's on the S class ships. Private. Didn't miss the fact that they faced the lawn.

We found the passes a waste. Used the "spa" once for a short time. Buy something in the shops if you have credit. IMO only, others might disagree.

Where is the Elite breakfast served on the Apex?

I would book CC aft. You are getting extra points and a few perks. Supposed to have better bedding also.

My brother in law who is 76 enjoys snorkeling. He is interested in knowing if he can snorkel at coco key and labadee. Do they offer snorkeling? any age restrictions.

We have previously had Zoey, she was great. Our last butler wasn't.

We loved the Lawn Club Grill also! One reason we loved the Silhouette or Reflection. Glass blowing nice, on the other S class ships, but if you have done it one that is enough for me.
